I hired this company for a local 1-bedroom apartment move from Laguna Beach to Laguna Niguel. For transparency, I was quoted $149/hour for 3 men at the cash price. While the move was completed, the experience was less than ideal and ended up costing significantly more than expected. The crew was scheduled for 8:30 AM but arrived at 8:48 AM, with billing starting at 8:40 AM. The job went until 5:15 PM, and I was charged time-and-a-half for "overtime," despite multiple smoke breaks, texting breaks, and a lunch break throughout the day. I was also told there would be an "overweight fee" for furniture items over 250 lbs. They flagged both my dresser (listed at 244 lbs. before removing drawers) and my sleeper sofa (also under 250 lbs. per manufacturer specs), but still said they qualified for extra charges. Thankfully, they told me they would waive these fees when I went to pay the bill. The most uncomfortable part, however, was when the movers asked my husband for drinks, then later specifically requested a large and a medium meat lovers pizza. Wanting to keep the process smooth, I provided it along with three gallons of water. Instead of thanks, I was met with, "Where is the Coca Cola?" With a 6-month-old baby at home, I still returned to the store to get them each a Coke and candy. Personally, I always bring my own food and drinks to work, so this request felt unprofessional and inappropriate. Finally, when we went to pay the already excessive amount, the "boss" of the trio asked for tips for his guys. At that point, it felt more like pressure than appreciation. Overall, the move was completed, but between the delays, questionable fees, unprofessional requests, and the awkward push for tips, I would not recommend this company without reservations.
