First of all I want to express how thankful I am for The Rock Movers…read more Being a full-service moving company, I needed someone to help me pack AND move due to a recent injury crippling me right before I was scheduled to move. Their reliability and ease of setting up the packing and move when I was not even able to be present and the timing was truly helpful. It was more expensive than I had ever paid for movers, even without the packing, and that's honestly why I could not give them full 5 stars. As a military member going through an honorable discharge to help my family in crisis while already injured myself, I had to empty out my own savings and my children's I had saved up over a 9-month deployment in the combat zone to move back to my family when they needed my help, not even sure if I could then provide for them. So while I really thank them for the job they did, I never financially recovered from that and I do ask Rock Movers to consider the vets or military members in San Diego and to complete a weight estimate for them to be reimbursed.

Booked 24/7 to do the work. They showed up on the scheduled day about 8:30 am and we did a walk thru, showing them what was going and what was not. moving from a 4 bdrm to a 2 bdrm takes some downsizing. They started right in, wrapping, filling boxes and moving them out to the truck. Taking apart the furniture that needed it and moving it out to the truck. They are definitely good at their job. It took them till 10:30 at night to get it all packed and stowed in the truck. They were prompt on delivery day too. Showed up at 9 am . started unloading and putting together furniture and placing it where requested. Took till 4pm before they were finished with their part of unpacking . Great job! The weight that I got at home was about 12 pounds of aluminum. When they waited at the recycling center, it weighed at 8.5 pounds. They put all of the lighter weight recycling things like plastic bottles, and aluminum cans in these lightweight plastic mesh baskets. The glass bottles, however, are put in a thick plastic trashcan. The scale is zeroed out for the heavy trashcan. Therefore, the only thing that is measured accurately is the glass bottles, which aren't worth that much. The things that are worth more, such as the aluminum cans, show up as much less weight because the scale is off.

Most importantly, I didn't have to ask him and go back and pull weeds that still remained or cut other things that should have been cut. On top of that, he trimmed my trees (small lemon and olive trees) way more than any other gardener before me, without my asking! Akela Moving was an amazing experience. Mike and Zeke were very friendly and kind and also moved very quickly. I can tell that they were very experienced and didn't waste any time. They were not lazy and were very efficient. I also had custom instructions for the pickup location because I was closer to one street rather than the street address and they were very accommodating. They were able to move a very tightly packed 900+ sqft apartment with a lot of furniture in under 6 hours. It was very impressive. I would definitely recommend to use them. Awesome job. I moved from a 2 bed/1bath to a bigger home. I was told i needed 3 guys for 5-6 hours and would have enough space in the truck to stop by a storage unit. Ended requesting 4 guys and it took 7 hours. The truck was decent size, but was not able to do the extra stop. Yes, things will get scraped and only one item broken out of all the crap i had (tiny lamp) but the stress of not having to do things yourself(Lift, disassemble, assemble, pack) is awesome. The two guys that moved our stuff we're super courteous and nice guys. By the end of the day they offered to drive us to and from IKEA for free. We had a miscommunication to start where we were told 9am but it was really a 2 hour window that began at 9am. So we weren't super excited when they showed up at 10:30. They partially disassembled my twin bed, transported it, and reassembled it flawlessly at my new place. Every item, no matter how big or small, was handled with incredible care and attention to detail. I also have to commend them on their ability to move all my things up two flights of stairs since the elevator at my complex was broken! They made what is usually a stressful experience feel smooth and effortless. On top of the excellent service, their pricing was very fair and well worth the cost. It's rare to find a team that's fast, careful, and affordable, but they checked every box. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for reliable, professional movers. I'll definitely be using them again for my next move!
