Really wanted to have a good experience. Just had a baby and really needed a pedicure. The girl kept zoning out and would stop in mid massage and just look out the window. The worse part was she zoned out while scrubbing the dead skin on my feet and rubbed a raw spot on the side of my foot. I had to tell her to stop. Originally I would have given one star, but the manager/owner (I'm assuming he's one of those) came over and fixed all the issues and also comped our little girl's mani pedi. He was very nice and did a good job, but the other women did not do such a good job at all. There were streaks in my sister's nail polish and after the first time we alerted someone they "fixed" it, but it didn't actually fix anything. Then my nails were jagged and uneven and when I asked to have it fixed, again it was not done well. The manager overheard me and came over and immediately helped both of us. Me and my sister came here and we feel that this nail salon is just average. We both got acrylics with painted tips and the tips wasn't done very well. Also, we had to tell out ladies a good few times why we wanted and they still would start doing something we didn't want. For example, I wanted painted tips and she started to paint my whole nail. I absolutely finally found a place I love!!! Every time I come here the service is top notch. I only know of two women that are in here I always forget their names but they are both amazing. I think every time you check in you get a free design as well. I have checkin twice already and I get a free design. Love it! Most places do not do this anymore. They have all the OPI nail polishes as well. So I can say I will be going here from now on. I usually get a manicure and pedicure. Not sure how acrylic nails are but these two services are amazing. Came here on a Sudan night and it was empty! I asked if they were closed because the sign said close at 4 and it was already 3:50. They said no and quickly set me up in a chair. I got a spa pedicure and acrylic nails. The lady doing my pedicure was great but she kept massaging a bruise even after I told her to stop. The lady doing my nails was rushing! I used to go to them every two or three weeks depending on my schedule. I recently stopped going because I moved away and figured I'd give them a review. I've had my nails done by 3 different techs and I would only recommend Kim, especially if you want your nails done right. She's great. The other ones were OK. They always fit me in and after a while, they knew me and my daughter by name and color style. My only issues are the lack of designs and colors and that the other workers don't seem to care about how they do your nails, except for Kim. When she does them, I have no issues, but the other two, the gel is chipping and fading, etc., within a couple of days. They also always want you to pay in cash, which bugs me in the way they ask. Weird. Anyhoo, if you are in the area, I would recommend Kim. read more

I was just driving around looking for somewhere to get my nails done...so I stopped at Talent because it wasn't full and it looked nice and comfy. So I went inside and immediately loved it. I didnt feel like some random customer and they made me feel comfortable and welcome. The second time I went there it was even better. I was pressed for time and wanted both a mani and a pedi but I didnt have much time so they insisted to do them both at the same time...which was awesome. I initially didnt like the color she was putting on my nails so I told her and she stopped and started over with no hesitation or attitude AND THEY WERE CLOSING...so it made me feel good that they didnt rush me. Three of us walked in for classic mani-pedis, and two of us were seated immediately despite a packed salon. Our third had to wait about 10 minutes but they were very conscientious and made sure she was seated next to us as soon as the chair was free. Everyone here was so attentive. When they found out that 2 of us were from out of town and one was a recent transplant, they asked us a lot of questions and graciously recommended lunch spots for us. My aesthetician was excellent. Me and my best friend made this our biweekly nail salon.. until yesterday. They let one lady take care of us both for mani pedis while the rest of the staff efficiently got everyone else taken care of. Couples came in and left while i was left soaking in luke warm water. Then they neglected to tell us that a certain polish was 25 dollars extra instead of the normal 15 for gel. At the end we were charged extra! I used to come here all the time and I even got my nails done for my wedding here. But after my experience a few weeks ago, I will not be coming back. I was stuck there for over two and a half hours for a mani/pedi. My manicurist was very rough with me and cut me at least 3 times. My nail beds actually hurt for a few days. They also used the wrong color. Then argued with me about the color and then told me my choice in toe nail color wasn't great. When I was finally moved to a pedicure chair, the pedicurist apparently went on break during my pedicure, but said nothing to me. She just started to file her own fingernails with the file she had just used on my toes and then went and heated up some food. Another woman sat down and finished my toes. My toes looked fine, but my fingers looked terrible and they hurt. It was the only time I didn't bother to leave a tip. read more

The lady did a pretty good job with my nails, the only thing I disliked was that she didn't check that the length of the nails matched on both hands. I came here for the second time last night. My toenails now have sock fuzz stuck to them and the polish is all kinds of messed up. They close at 7pm, We got there at around 6. I got a spa pedicure ($23), my friend got a spa pedicure and a full set of nails. We both wanted the callus treatment ($5). While she was cutting my nails, it hurt a little. I think her own fingernails were digging into my toes or something. But I was semi-ok with that. Next was the callus treatment. She put my feet up on something that resembled a pool noodle with clear packing tape wrapped around it. She slathered my feet in lotion. The damn pool noodle kept slipping into the water, so instead of having a relaxing SPA pedicure I was having an impromptu ab workout session trying to elevate my damn feet. But, the lady scrubbed my heels well and although she didn't get all the callus did a fair job. They didn't do any of this for my friend, because they were rushing to get her nails done also, but still tried charging her the extra $5 for the treatment, to which she said she's not paying for something she didn't receive. While I waited for her to get her nails finished, they didn't even put my feet under a dryer. I had to take the paper towels out from between my toes myself- while not a big deal, still not how it's done in all the places I've been to. So back to the sock fuzz- An hour after I got home I put on socks, only to try and pull them off an hour or so later but they were melded to the polish on my big toes. So now the polish is all bumby and fuzzy. I'm really thinking this is a result of not putting my toes under the dryer so I'm going back today to see if they will fix the polish. After trying out 4-5 places in the Kearny Mesa area, I found a place that does it the way I like it. Kim is considerate of my time and understands I don't need to be entertained with all the chit-chat. She takes a keen eye to detail and has allowed my mani to last up to 3 weeks. I have been coming here for awhile now. This was my first time getting a full set In years. I think they did good job but I was kind of confused when it was time to pay. I paid $40 for a full set with white tips. The full set is $25 plus $5 for the white tips. When I asked why I was paying $40, they said they used pink acrylic and a coat of gel. Each one of those were $5. No point of arguing... it was already done. I just wish I was kept informed of the extras as i was going. Anyways, I was overall satisfied with the work.
