My review is based off of my experience with the hostess staff and lack of preparation for reservations. We were so excited to try this restaurant! I made a reservation for 2 on a Friday evening. When we arrived they took us to a table next to the ice machine and fire extinguisher. My husband's view was the ice machine and constant high traffic from the kitchen. It is such a beautiful restaurant inside but we were not able to enjoy it due to the location of our table. We asked to be moved if possible and observed other tables become open. Unfortunately, there was no effort to move us to a different table so we just had a drink and left. I had the Tourista drink...it was okay but lacking in flavor. We understand this is a new restaurant and we will be giving it second chance. read more

Tallo is a whole vibe! The environment is stylish, welcoming, and just the right mix of chill and elevated. Our server, Nicole, was absolutely incredible--super friendly and attentive. Sometimes the service helps the "taste" of the food. In my case, the food was excellent, and the service was better. Alejandra recommended the watermelon Basil, and it was perfect. The price is good and the decoration of the restaurant is beautiful. In addition, is in the WC-Zephyrhills area, I don't need to go to Tampa for a good restaurant. read more

The sliders were cold and very dry, and the tacos lacked much flavor. The drinks were also underwhelming. Despite the bar being fairly empty, service was slower than expected. I would be willing to try it again in case it was just an off day, but both my friend and I left disappointed. All around service was great, great atmosphere. Only one negative is the food!!! Maybe chef wasn't at his prime last week, food didn't taste fresh at all like if we reheated food out the microwave taste. I really wanted to love Tallo. As a local who enjoys Latin cuisine, I had high hopes but after visiting twice in one week, the inconsistencies and poor service made it impossible to recommend. On my first visit, the short rib dumplings were rich, flavorful, and perfectly sauced. A few days later, I returned and was shocked to find the same dish completely different. The sauce, flavor, and presentation were off, and that inconsistency set the tone for the night. Worse was the service. My server misunderstood my order, brought the wrong dish, I expressed my dish was wrong and what happened next surprised me. The serve argued that what she brought out was what I ordered. Everyone at the table was expressing contrary, she wanted to go back and forth with me. After being frustrated about me not accepting the dish, She even switched to Spanish (which seemed to be her first language) to tell my wife I was mistaken, assuming I didn't understand. As a HISPANIC guest, that was both disrespectful and disappointing. In addition, My son's salmon came out raw (uncooked and cold on the inside). We expressed our concerns to the server who notified the manager. The manager seemed upset given our table had its issues already this evening. What I experienced was a first. The manager's response lacked professionalism and concern. She seemed annoyed that we even brought it up. We asked to have his dish switched for something else given we didn't want to risk food poisoning from undercook fish. She left and returned with a menu and with an attitude stated she would be taking the salmon off the check. I was shocked, I thought that was a given and that some compassion would have been shown to my son who plate came out last, and now has to wait for another dish altogether because of this mistake. It was the first time I saw this particular manager. She seemed to be having a lot of complaints this evening, we witness her visiting 2 other tables in our area alone this night. Hoping it was a bad night, I gave Tallo one last chance. Unfortunately, the Cuban sandwich I ordered was cold, the pork was old (you know it the minute you taste it if you know pork) and the fries were greasy. Good Latin food deserves better representation. Tallo has potential, but until the staff are trained and the kitchen finds consistency, I won't be returning. Great space, lovely decor, poor execution, and unacceptable service. read more

Ok...it's always your choice to check an establishment. We went first time with the ideology of "looks good "! Well it's not, and if it's open next year I'd be surprised. As a restaurateur it's hard to sincerely speak of something that's not even copasetic. Service slow, food Luke warm, eggs Benedict came with a solid egg?, donuts were from public's with all kinds of crap on them....Worst part out of 11 items at brunch? The place was 1/3 full? No Cubans, no bagels for the eggs Bennie , 2 Chardonnays out, Spanish white out, 2 appetizers out....there's no direction no urgency. Our server sweet but you can tell she probably never served. Had to ask for salt and pepper? The "who are you" came to the table to see if we wanted the Bennie on a different bread but never intro himself. Tallo is trying for a hip Miami vibe, music blasting way to loud, tables much to close, they tried to jam too many seats in a small space, look for the 2 top in the entrance to the kitchen,lol! No one would want to sit there. And it's off the beaten path. Your choice but for $100 for 2 with tip($20) there's better dining. read more

It's my 1st time having brunch at this restaurant and I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the chicken and waffle and the 2 peices of chicken I received were literally the size of chicken nuggets. What made this worse was that they were extra battered to the point where I was eating hardened dough with a slither of chicken. I notified the waitress and she didn't seem to care. We ordered a side of grilled chicken for my 1 year old and her child sized portion was more than mine. My family has owned restaurants for many years and I cook at Chef level, this is about the worst chicken and waffles I've ever had in my life. Florida residents be careful on social media advertising. They make everything look flashy and picture perfect, complete opposite of what this Tallo restaurant was. I would highly avoid this overpriced and below average restaurant. Waste of your money and time, you've been warned. read more

What an amazing experience I had with my family at Tallo! The ascetic environment to the amazing food and hustling staff. I shared the Asian pig wings as an appetizer alongside the Crispy Calamari, and it was delicious, then ordered the Pan-Seared Salmon and that was even better! As for the staff, you can see an honest effort out of each and every one of the employees, though our server Laken had gone above and beyond checking in with my family making sure that we knew if there were anything we needed she would take care of it right away, all while still bouncing from table to table, an attribute I wish all servers had. La atención al cliente es impecable, el personal es atento, conocedor del menú y realmente se esmeran por hacerte sentir especial. Probamos varios aperitivos y platos principales, y cada uno fue memorable: las pig wings con glaseado asiático estaban perfectamente cocinadas, los dumplings de costilla eran pura mantequilla al paladar, y el pollo al limón con broccolini fue sencillamente espectacular, probablemente el mejor que he comido en años. El bucatini con pesto de pistacho también fue una sorpresa deliciosa, lleno de sabor y perfectamente balanceado. Los cócteles artesanales también merecen mención aparte: creativos, bien presentados y con ingredientes frescos. El ambiente y la música hacen que quieras quedarte un rato más, simplemente disfrutando. Sin duda, Tallo se ha convertido en uno de mis lugares favoritos en Wesley Chapel.
