    Hot tea - Masala Chai

Husband was in the mood for sushi so we headed over to one of our favorites. Busy but not super busy tonight. Service was less than stellar (had to ask for small plates, soy sauce boat, napkins, I actually got up myself to get the low sodium soy sauce for my husband) BUT! The rolls were delicious as well as the chai tea. I highly recommend the OMG roll. Pieces were huge and difficult to maneuver but the ingredients came together perfectly. We will continue to come for the excellent sushi. Just hope the service is better next time.

Had a great dinner at Tamashi. Probably the only thing that surpassed the freshness of the sushi was the awesome staff. Lauren and team were great. Not just the average sushi menu. The fresh wasabi is a must

The food, service and ambiance was great - Lucas & Des were wonderful and both checked on us throughout the dinning experience!

Excellent Japanese food! New Chef Buh has outstanding ideas that will be very well received on the west side. Sushi to sashimi to wonderful desserts you can't go wrong here.

Tried it for the first time and it exceeded my expectations. I felt like the service was very attentive and friendly, and the place was very neat and clean. Our order came out in a timely manner and they kept up with asking how we were doing. The food was delicious!

It was not the best. We were the first person in and we didn't even get our food first. Mine was good but they added to much oil. I got the spicy ramen. The place was nice and they had music and TVs going. They gave my dad his food and then like 10 minutes later they finally gave me mine, but they gave a family their faster than our 3 orders. And the family got like 10 items. But it was better than some places I've gone.

I'm so glad we found this place! After living in Albuquerque for the past year and trying a number of sushi restaurants, we've finally found a great one. The ingredient quality at Tamashi is exceptional. The rolls are delicious and come out quickly. Our drinks were quickly refilled without us having to ask and the service attentive. The Sex and the City roll, which Tamashi lists as their most popular, was crunchy and fresh. I loved the crunchy bits on top, which are a Tamashi proprietary recipe. This is officially my favorite sushi place in Albuquerque and I'm glad we tried it. The price tag on some of the specialty rolls put us off from trying it a bit ago, but it's filling and completely worth it. Go check it out!

I was the only customer at the time and just feel like the service could have been better. My server was nice but I ordered the hot chai and I feel he could have been more attentive to the quality of the product. The chai was barely warm. Even my Tonkatsu soup was warm and not giving the impression of freshly hot or freshly made. There were no other customers but in between times of checking on me I noticed him just standing around playing on his cell phone. I think folks should put their cell phones away at work and find opportunities to be fully engaged with what they need to do and be aware of what's going on around them at work, hence keeping the hot beverages hot. Service and food here on this particular visit was just "ok" for me today. I left a little underwhelmed and feeling like I should have eaten somewhere else.

Soy sauce is in nearly…read moreeverything, menus aren't always clear, and I'm usually stuck asking a ton of questions or avoiding places altogether. That's why Sakura Sushi & Grill stood out right away. They clearly label gluten-free options on the menu. They also offer gluten-free soy sauce, which is a huge win. Even better, they have lunch specials with gluten-free options, which is rare. It's located in Riverside Plaza in Albuquerque, just past the river on the west side. I ordered the Sushi Lunch A with premium fish and chose the double salmon roll. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the portions were great for the price. The miso soup that comes with lunch isn't gluten-free, but they brought me a side salad with an amazing gluten-free dressing instead. I felt confident eating here, which is not something I say often. I didn't have any reaction afterward and would absolutely eat here again. One of the coolest surprises: they make their own wasabi in-house. It's not on the menu, but if you ask, they'll bring it out, and it is absolutely worth it. We considered getting a sushi boat, but the lunch specials were a better value for lunch. If we went for dinner, we would absolutely order a boat. I also had hot sake, which paired perfectly with the meal. At the end, they even brought us a sweet cinnamon tea for my friend's birthday, even though we didn't order dessert. Service was warm and attentive the entire time. My friend has a shellfish allergy, and the server made sure her plate only included fin fish, which we really appreciated. We went around 1:30 p.m. on a Tuesday, and it was quiet with only a few other tables. The atmosphere felt calm and relaxed, with a casual, comfortable vibe that made it easy to sit and actually enjoy a conversation without feeling rushed. They close at 3 and reopen for dinner, so it's a great low-key lunch spot if you time it right. My friend also mentioned she brings her young kids here often, and the woman manager or owner is especially kind and welcoming to them. I enjoyed this place so much that I called my husband on the way home to tell him all about it. We're already planning to go back with our kids, which will make this my second visit in one week. If you're gluten-free, this place is a gem. And even if you're not, the quality, service, and overall experience make it absolutely worth a visit.

Xuan Asian is a clean little shop with some indoor seating and a front counter to order. We were seated immediately and served our waters. Menu doesn't seem like they had any Korean food; mainly Japanese. We got the Black Tonkotsu ramen and Combo Seafood Tempura bento box. Food came out pretty quick. I was blown away by how aromatic the garlic in the ramen was. -0.5 points for not having any black truffle oil though. Overall ramen is some of the best I've had in Abq. Bento box was a pretty large portion with tempura being super light and crispy. Yum! I'm very impressed with the quality of food and can't wait to try out the rest of their menu!

I took in the ambiance and noticed the restaurant was pretty spacious, the tables/booths were decently sized so you have enough space for your things or if you want to spread out. The theme and decor seemed to be Hawaiian so that interesting. While waiting for our waiter I overheard the man who sat us telling another table that Sunday was all day happy hour, which he never told us about but I'm glad I overheard it. So once our waiter came, I asked him to confirm. I got the lemon grass pear martini, which was made perfectly, and was absolutely delicious. It was my favorite of the night! For the appetizers, we got Shanghai shrimp, it came with two dips (mint cilantro dip and not sure what the other one was). The other appetizer we got where the dumplings. The inside was pork and vegetables (Shanghai, dipping sauce, but tasted like sauce sauce). Both appetizers were delicious, I'd definitely order again. For our entrees, I ordered the Sesame chicken it came with broccoli and I got white rice, it was perfect, and everything I wanted! I'm glad our waiter confirmed because I was stuck between that and the red curry beef. My dining companion ordered the rice paper salmon, which comes with mango, pineapple, salsa, Shanghai sauce, and sweet cucumbers. They loved it, and the large was enough to take to go and have the next day. All in all, we had a great service from our waiter Ronny, a nice dining experience and fabulous drinks!

For my fellow autistic people who deal with overstimulation: the vibe here was perfect. The menu is easy to understand. It is the single location that didn't make me want to rip my hair out. There aren't 20 TVs and loud music playing all at once; it was always quiet. Many other locations, I can't stand being in there 5 minutes without dissociating or flipping out in my mind.
