The drink was as aesthetic as it was delicious and I thought the prices were very reasonable. The staff here are very sweet and the vibe of the cafe is clean and beautiful. However their coffee is just not good ;( Their espresso shots are just not strong enough and the milk and foam is too overpowering. So exciting to have this coffee shop in the area. The South Bay has so many great coffee options, but Torrance, and particularly this part of it, seems to be a coffee desert. Tamistea is such a fantastic shop! The lattes are delicious, not too sweet, and reasonably priced. As a big fan of Ube, it's wonderful to see various Ube menu options. Owned by a Filipina, it's also nice that this shop isn't just riding the recent Ube trend. The cookies are going to be dangerous. They are huge, homemade, and so decadent. The staff and owner are kind and you can tell they really care about their products and want to make their customers happy. I will absolutely be a regular here. read more

I decided to try Tamistea during their first week of soft opening. Luckily, no crowds yet. I ordered their hot matcha latte with almond milk. It was good but I think I liked it better iced so that's what I did my second visit. Much better iced in my opinion. I also ordered one of their signature drinks and selected the iced mais con ube. This one is a winner! So delicious! I highly recommend it! I have also tried their ube white chocolate chip cookie which I loved and ordered a chocolate chip cookie which was okay. It was hard and seemed like a day old cookie so I warmed it up at home and it was really good! I am not sure if they do warm up pastries but will try next time. I have been trying to support all the local spots and highly recommend to try Tamistea. They have great customer service and have been very kind the two times I have visited. I hope they add a few more chairs inside if possible but they have many outside. In the mornings the lighting is perfect near the windows but seems dim near register and pastry display case so maybe add some better lighting in those areas. Menu is cute on side wall but maybe emphasis your signature drinks. I had no idea until I saw their paper menu in front of the register that some of the drinks were signature drinks. Website is still in the works. I believe it is also a card only establishment. I know this is a Filipina owned Cafe which I love because I am a fellow Filipina! Love this new coffee shop in the neighborhood! The staff is friendly and welcoming. They have a few books and boardgames off to the side that you are welcomed to play with. There is no public restroom, and has limited inside & outside seating at the moment due to city restrictions - please be patient with them as they are working with the city! They have an amazing selection of sweet and savory pastries - from house made delicious cookies to ham&cheese croissants. My favorites are the ube cookies and the savory mushroom pastry. My go-to drink is an iced vanilla latte. I usually get drinks half-sweet, but their normal level is perfect. They are working on expanding their drink menu- they have a seasonal non-caffeinated drink called the Isla Refresher (calamansi juice, dragonfruit, and hibiscus) and it was delicious, and toddler-approved! I got the double matcha with oat milk and thought it was okay. The mouthfeel was more on the astringent/bitter side. I think it could've used a little more sweetness to balance it out. I watched my drink being made and it looked like the drink was premade and then poured into the cup then topped with cream. So if you like your matcha hand whisked, made to order, they don't. Which is maybe why it tasted powdery. I would give them another chance and maybe asked for more sweetness to see if that makes a difference. But I'm also picky since I usually make my own matcha at home or go to my favorite place in OC. read more
