This was definitely the worst experience we have had since moving to Texas. We had been craving Indian food and were nearby and stopped in. No one was there at dinner, we should have taken that as a sign. Looked at their online menu and the yummy pictures and ordered. Nothing came like the photos, and none of the dishes were good. Two were inedible. We asked the server if we could send back the appetizer, but they refused. They proceeded to list off a bunch of reasons why the inedible food was the fault of "customers not understanding Indian food" and "people not liking spicy". Too many excuses, too little care in the food. They offered no apology and refused to split the check in two. $45 for 2 and no one ate.... read more

This is our first time here, we came for dinner. 1. Service - the friendly waiters came and checked up on us quite a bit, but not too much to where you feel disturbed. They serve a-la-carte during dinner hours. You get seated, order, and pay at your table. 2. Price - fairly priced, and a bang for the buck. There main entrees are about $10 a person. 3. Ambiance - this place can use some more decorations. Cute, petit, but not very romantic. They can use some more booths and some partitions. Dress code is casual. 4. Food - I had the Tandoori Chicken, Garlic Naan, and the wife had the Chicken Tikka Masala. The Tandoori dish is served with a lemon flavor, and ordered at medium spicy. In my opinion, it was not spicy enough if you can handle sriracha. The wife thought that her Tikka Masala was flavorful, and also ordered it medium spicy. She also could handle more spicy. Garlic Naan was not bad, but not as flavorful as we wanted it to be. 5. Cleanliness - dining area visually looks clean. Also a plus that the table, utensils, and cups were not sticky. I haven't dined at many Indian restaurants, but growing up with childhood friends from India and Pakistan, I have few but authentic experience with the food. Visiting Tandoori Indian Cuisine on 2920 tonight was nostalgic... and delicious! I have have so many great things to say about this place, so I'll just name a few reasons why I would happily recommend it: - The humble & welcoming service felt as if you were eating in someone's home, rather than a restaurant. Iman was a sweet and gracious hostess. And Rashik was eager and pleasant as he refilled our waters and cleared our table. They both stopped to explain each dish and ingredients to me as I walked by the buffet. Mody, the manager, made sure to visit each table and shared background on the chef/owners with us. He was both enthusiastic and modest. - The food was fantastic! I enjoyed everything I sampled, but my favorite dishes were the silky chicken masala, the not-too-gamey-not-too-spicy goat curry, the complimentary fresh naan bread with its perfectly chewy texture (you won't regret dipping it in the mint chutney... and everything else!), and the gulab jamun (airy dessert balls with a surprising texture & unique flavor profile). The self-serve carafe of masala chai (think chai latte) was a wonderful finish. High regards to Chef Shahid! (*Sorry if I misspelled any names!) - Personally, as a fan of ethnic cuisine, I'm excited to see a new addition of this kind to the area. - It's a bargain! This Indian restaurant is located in an area where there really isn't much other competition. Upon arriving during a weekend lunch, the greeting with the waitress was a little awkward, as they were hesitant to allow me to look at the buffet line or go directly there when entering the restaurant. They said it wasnt quite ready yet, even though it was already 11am. I set my sunglasses down on the table and started to walk up to the front but they wanted me to place my drink order first. I just ordered an ice tea, waited about 5 minutes and then went to the buffet line. I was the first customer of the day and finally one other customer came in before I left. The buffet is medium-sized I would say with 4 entrees (3 chicken and 1 goat), about 6 veggie dishes, chutneys and raita. On the day I came, the buffet didn't have palak paneer, darn! They bring your naan to your table shortly after you return from the buffet line. Lunch buffet is supposedly available 7 days a week! Overall, all the food items I tried tasted excellent. My favorites were the pakora, goat curry, and butter chicken. One veggie item, the eggplant with potatoes was sorta cold, so their chaffing dish wasn't working right apparently. There were no dishes which were even remotely spicy, sadly. Lunch buffet was about average priced at $9.99. My only complaint is that they charge $3 for plain unsweetened iced tea, which is just a little steep while they charge only 2.50 if you order a soda. read more

This is an honest restaurant with great service and amazing food. We saw the recommendation from Yelp and decided to try it. Since previous reviews mentioned the butter chicken I got that. It was fabulous! My husband got a shrimp, chicken, and lamb dish which was also very good. It took a long time but I think it is made to order. Can't wait to try the lunch buffet!!!! They allowed us to bring our own wine, which was a bonus. The waiter was so sweet, too. One of my new favorite places! Revisited in Dec for Sunday buffet snd it was awesome!!! March 29 2019 Update: Food taste has not improved, but prices have risen! Ordered Chicken Do Piaza, Chili Chicken and Navrattan Korma for dinner to-go. Prices were around $14 each, which is a travesty!! Noticed that lunch buffet too has gone up by a dollar to $11.99. I know how to cook these dishes and they can be produced with better quality ingredients for less than half the menu price - come on owners, be reasonable. Despite asking for these to be cooked spicy, what came out was absolutely bland and lacked flavor/taste. The Navratran Korma has no raisins or pineapples, a staple on this dish. . I am amazed at the high rating this place has received/perhaps a reflection of local, unknowing preferences, but nowhere near what North Indian food should taste like! Friendly place, nondescript strip center location. Lunch buffet is reasonably priced, $10.99; however food taste (generally bland) and number of offerings could be improved. I need to say upfront that the food was delicious. Everything else means less to me. As long as the food is good I will eat and return, however there are still many things to discuss. The Good: Food was amazing. Our server was very nice, warm, motherly, and inviting. The food was filling. The Bad: The atmosphere is very harsh and sterile, not the most inviting. Our greeting was initially similarly harsh. Confusion on pricing. Things that we thought were included (water and rice) were not, but were presented as free. It was not the most cheap. Overall, it is mixed, but the food being as good as it was skews my perception. If the food is fantastic I would go through anything to eat it. I suggest you try it. Came here for Saturday lunch time and their buffet is stacked. They have a wide variety of veg and non veg items and all the items are fresh. You can tell that the food hasn't been sitting out for ages, like most places. Spice level wasn't high at all, so if you're not use to Indian food, this is the place to be. One item which I was not happy with was the rice. Both the plain rice and the chicken biryani were not fully cooked. You could tell the rice wasn't cooked all the way from the crunchy ness of the rice. Two of the grilled items- the kabob and the chicken botti were great. Hit the spot. The naan is fresh. I ordered takeout Butter Chicken, Peshawari Naan and Paneer Makhani. Both dishes came with a small takeout box of basmati rice. They tasted similar to me as they both had a thick tomato sauce, but the Butter Chicken had a bit of spice. The chicken was cut into a variety of sizes. The paneer was cut into small cubes. I thought there was an okay amount of chicken in the Butter Chicken, but the Paneer Makhani needed a little more cheese cubes. The Peshwari Naan was like dessert bread. This side of town is shockingly low on Indian buffets considering the population here and the sizeable South Asian community. This is a nice little upstart restaurant with very nice Bangladeshi owners. The place is clean and the service is very friendly, which already puts it above most South Asian places :). Wife and I had the buffet and it had about 8 main items, which might be smaller than the larger buffets you see in the Galleria, but the items were much better quality and tasted more real versus using a mix packet of spices. I liked the tandoori chicken, the butter chicken, the goat Curry, and the paneer. The thing that makes this Buffet Stand Out is the quality AND that they have free Masala chai, which always hits the spot. They also have extra salad and condiments and chutneys. Normally would try a place twice before writing a review, but there won't be a second trip. One person dropped off some stale papadum. One guy took order. Food was dropped at table and never saw another wait-person. No opportunity to order another beverage, tell them we wanted rice, etc. Went to the register to get my bill and the owner asked how things were. I told him the above - he told me some excuses and offered to take a coke off our bill. I suggested that as the owner, if he knew there were issues he should address them. I would like to point out first off that the first person to review this place gave this place one star because he saw the menu and thought it was expensive. He didn't actually come into the restaurant or tried the food. That is not was yelp is meant for so take your basic self somewhere else. With that said.... I've dined at many Indian restaurant and in my humble opinion this place is wonderful and the food is out of this world. The atmosphere is very simple, tables chairs and salt/pepper shakers. The inside is very clean seeing that it is a brand new restaurant. The staff is so nice and attentive. Any problems we had was met with apologizes and an urgency to fix it. The food itself has such a great balance of flavors and nothing that I had was overwhelming. It was perfect. They even have the equivalent of Indian "chips and salsa." Delicious. They are having some issues with their system and they were short staffed when i went. But I am fully confident they will get through those growing pains very soon. Just finished dinner at Tandoori Indian Cuisine in Spring, TX. First, and most importantly, all three dishes we had were excellent. We had the Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Marsala, and Chicken Korma as well as Garlic Naan and Keema Naan. I've had all of these before at other Indian restaurants and consider them "classics" so the bar was somewhat high. I'm not exaggerating when I say that it was the best Indian food I've had years. Second, and less importantly, this was their 2nd night to be open to the public. I definitely expected hiccups and I got them. The wait was long even just to get drinks and they had a malfunction with their payment system causing us to have to wait for them to call their help desk so we could pay with a card. They did get it fixed. Also the music that was playing while we were there quit playing halfway through our meal and it was kind of uncomfortable. STILL! You guys, it was really really good. The manager was super apologetic and it's only their second day. We will definitely be back and you should go too. Prepare to be a little patient though. read more

I'm in love!!! I love to go to different places I've never eaten at before. So I got in Yelp and started searching......BOOM!! This place popped up. I love Indian food so it peeled my interest already. Got there, smelled heavenly. Had on a Indian dance show on the tv. Which only added more to the setting of the place. Service was quick and fast. I pretty much didn't know what to order bc everything looked amazing. I ended up ordering the butter chicken as my main dish and then some other sides. Everything was spectacular. Delicious and rich. USED to be our favorite Indian restaurant. Last 4 times we ordered take out from there has been an expensive bad experience. They seem to have forgotten how to make MILD food. We ordered online and specifically notated on the order to make the food MILD. It was so spicy we couldn't eat it. That happened twice. They also left things off our order 2 times. So today I called in the order and told they guy on the phone 3 times to prepare the land saag and chicken curry MILD. Was still so spicy we could hardly eat it and sit here with indigestion. Horrible horrible customer service and illegal activity! Not familiar with Indian food and went in asking questions, about the food and what taste good. The waiter was not friendly made me feel like I would know his cultures food... didn't suggest a meal or even let me know the food was spicy or there levels of spice. Brought the food out and the veggies were so spicy, his response to our spicy comment was "you should have told me you didn't want it t spicy" how was I I know there were different spice levels???? We asked for water, the brought us cups of ice and bottles of water, but didn't tell us there was a charge for it. Not once after the food came and until we asked for the check did he bother asking us how the food was...
