The food was so good that I forgot to take pictures outside of the dessert. This was my first time experiencing all you can eat but for sushi and I will say that did a great job overall. I tried a few things that were raw and they were really good, and this is coming from someone who only eats cooked sushi The service was pretty good as well as they were very attentive. The overall space is beautiful just when it gets packed it can start to feel small. Overall I enjoyed my time and I would def recommend. read more

What a welcome addition to Manhattan; we desperately needed another AYCE sushi spot since there are so few. The price ($46) is very solid and REALLY solid for NYC. Sashimi is included (15 pc PP) which is usually not available at a lot of spots within the city, nice bonus! The fish was extremely fresh. Usually, you trade quality for sheer volume when it comes to AYCE but this place somehow is hitting on all cylinders - bravo!! Our favorites items were the tuna avocado rolls, blue crab handroll and all the sashimi. I especially enjoyed the tuna and unagi here. The crispy rice, though, was terrible. The sushi rice was really stale as if they fried it hours ago and served it. My guess is they make a bunch of crispy rice and it sits out - please fix this as it's suuuuuch an easy fix! The quality of the ingredients here is fantastic. We loved everything from their fresh sashimi (limited to 12 pieces per person, but definitely enough) to their creative nori tacos and sushi rolls. This place was soo good! The nigiri was nice and fresh, I lovedddd the rock shrimp, and the yellowtail scallion roll. The miso soup was also really good. Service was nice and quick, and they had a really cool app where you can put in all your orders, call for the waiter, and ask for the check. We sat in the back area which was really nice and spacious, I didn't like that the chairs made it hard to hang my bag on but not a huge deal. Overall, I'll definitely be back! read more

I have tried many different sushi places before, but this one is definitely my absolute favorite now. The main reason I love it so much is because the fish is incredibly fresh and the overall quality is amazing. Everything we ordered tasted so great that we could not stop eating. I ended up ordering a lot of food because we liked it so much. And to my surprise, the chicken wings took forever to come, though I already ate the slice of cake first. WARNING: AUTOMATIC GRATUITY Party of 4. When paying, I was only told to sign. After getting my receipt, I noticed they had automatically charged an 18% gratuity on the total after tax. I was never told about this when paying. TL;DR: Less than mediocre service except for one staff member, long wait times, mediocre food, and an extremely loud environment. Our reservation was at 5:30, but we arrived at 4:15 and the restaurant was lightly packed. We waited about 15 minutes at the host stand before someone came over, though they were able to seat us early. We were told to scan the QR code and read the AYCE rules: 1 hour and 45 minute limit, $46/person standard or $56 with drinks, and $1 for every extra piece. The drink package is alcoholic drinks only with a 3-drink limit. Non-alcoholic choices were basically Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, club soda, or lemon water. No hot tea. After being seated, we weren't given water, ginger, or wasabi. Another table was seated and received all three immediately. We asked our server, who simply said "ok." Eventually, the busser brought everything over and apologized for the wait. Honestly, shout out to him because he gave us the best service of the entire meal. Food service was inconsistent. Servers would bring plates over, put them down, and immediately walk away without saying what anything was. Some orders were missing pieces. For example, chicken wings are listed as 2 pieces per order. We ordered 2 orders expecting 4 wings and only received 2. Some items never arrived, while other things we didn't order showed up. Even dessert--3 scoops of matcha ice cream and 2 slices of matcha cheesecake--took about 15 minutes. Food quality was mediocre. Some tuna, blue crab, and the salmon crunchy taco had a fishy taste. Chicken yakitori was salty and dry. Steak teriyaki was tough like jerky. The crispy rice was so hard it felt like eating rocks. The takoyaki was mushy and didn't even look like takoyaki when it arrived. The chicken wings were crispy but had some pink near the bones. Udon tasted fine, but the portion came in a tiny cup about the size of the miso soup with barely any noodles. The matcha cheesecake was dry and had an extremely strong matcha taste, almost like eating matcha powder directly. There were some good items. The beef yakitori was easily the best thing we ate. The meatballs tasted like mini hamburgers and were pretty good, and the fried calamari was good too. The restaurant was also EXTREMELY loud. Other parties were talking loudly, which obviously isn't entirely the restaurant's fault, but they started blasting the music seemingly to compensate. People then talked louder, the music got louder, and it became a volume battle until they eventually lowered it. Service remained poor throughout the meal. Servers wouldn't clear empty plates even when there was no room for new food. They would wait for us to move or stack them and then leave. Again, the busser was the exception. He politely asked before taking plates, refilled our water, and brought soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi when we needed them. At the end, we asked for the check. The busser brought it but explained he couldn't process payment, so we had to wait for a server who had barely interacted with us. This brings me back to the automatic gratuity. The server tapped my card, turned the tablet toward me, and simply said to sign. I saw no tip option, so I assumed it would appear afterward. He asked if I wanted a receipt, and when I looked at it, I noticed a gratuity had already been added. I calculated it and it was 18% of the total AFTER TAX. I would've asked about it, but the server disappeared, no other servers were around, and nobody was at the host stand, so we left. Pictures of the food are attached. read more

This AYCE sushi deal in NYC is probably one of the best in Manhattan! For $46 you can get unlimited sushi (handrolls, nigiri, rolls, and regular sashimi is limited to 12 pieces pp), tons of appetizers, skewers, and noodles. If you want some drinks, there's the option to add 3 drinks for just $10 more. Service is pretty quick and ambiance is really nice for an AYCE. We got their yellowtail jalapeno, seaweed salad, tuna avocado tartare, beef rib, shrimp, skewers, and of course their sushi. I felt that their appetizers were a hit or miss. Some of them were really good, such as their avocado tartare or their firecracker (I think that was the name?) shrimp. Others were misses for us, such as their skewers and beef rib. I also ordered some of the apps multiple times and found that quality was fairly inconsistent. The first round was a lot better while the second round didn't feel like presentation or ratio of ingredients was right (ie. too much mayo or not enough tuna). For the sushi, their handrolls were so yummy. Sashimi was fairly fresh. Rice to fish ratio is nigiri was not good though. Too much rice. We finished the meal with some desserts. We got their ice cream and matcha cheese cake to try. The ice cream was rich and creamy--great dessert. Their cheesecake on the other hand, was way too dry and crumbly. Overall, I can see that they still have some things to work out but for the price, I don't think it's a bad deal! read more

AYCE sushi menu was confusing. Certain things on the menu were Ayce and not all. The cooked food was ok and the sushi seemed fresh. It's clear that Tang is a new restaurant still working their kinks out. The food is great! However service left more to be desired. We had a reservation and when we arrived we were told that sushi orders would take about 30 minutes to come out of the kitchen. Not exactly the first thing you want to hear when you arrive at a restaurant. I will say though, we did bottomless drinks and the hot sake was put on our table right away. Hot appetizers also came out pretty quickly too so ultimately we didn't mind the wait for sashimi/sushi too much. It seemed like the manager was seating guests, making drinks, delivering food etc. They probably could've used another server or two. We switched from cocktails to beer because we figured the cocktails would take longer but then we ended up having to ask for the beers because they never came. Got another surprise hot sake that we didn't order and we said eh, well, might as well drink it while we're waiting. I think I would go back once Tang has worked out their kinks.. the food really was good enjoyable, but I think they still have to smooth out some things before it's a really comfortable dining experience where you feel taken care of. read more

We showed up on this past Sunday as a walk in at around 7 PM, which required a 20-30 minute wait until we could grab a table indoors. The quality and quantity are both there 100%; It's worth paying the extra few bucks to get fresher fish that is cut considerably bigger than some of its competitors. We sat there waiting for the rest of our order and had to flag someone down to ask because nobody was checking on our table, and only then were we told we had nothing else coming out.
