There were so many gross flies swirling around the pendant lights at the bar. While we were eating they landed on our food! Their huevos rancheros was the inedible.! The fried eggs were a given, but it was accompanied with a tablespoon of pinto beans, nasty moldy avocado slices and a handful of burnt tortilla chips. Their Americano coffee was not hot. A bunch of flies also landed on our pancakes. Disgusting! This place has gone downhill! I wonder if they have a new owner that doesn't care,because it shows. We are actually going somewhere else to get something to eat right after we pay the bill here. IWe hope to get some good breakfast and coffee. First time at this restaurant after years of wanting to try it. I have to say, I'm very disappointed in the quality of food AND I found a screw inside my burrito which had chipped a tooth. How disgusting!!! I went to the restaurant to show them and express my concerns and was totally blown off by the owner. The supervisor on duty had told my partner twice on two different days that the owner will reach out which he didn't. You would think that they would want to handle this situation promptly and professionally but they haven't. I 100 % would not recommend this place. Over priced for very mediocre quality at best. The service at tangerine was outstanding, everyone was kind, attentive and just plain nice to our table, and it can be felt throughout the entire restaurant to make for a calming breakfast/brunch environment to start your day. I ordered the breakfast burrito and while it was good, I'd recommend getting the somewhat watery pico de gallo on the side or skipping it altogether in favor of more chipotle sauce which was excellent. Anything made with batter is a home run here from talking with my party, and they make the orange juice fresh every day which makes for some great cocktails as well. The only thing I'd say is they're a little pricey (13-16$ a plate) compared to most places I've been in the area, but the quality of food and especially service was very well worth it! read more

I've heard this place can get busy on the weekends. I went here for brunch with a few of the girls. It's been awhile since we've been able to catch up. We were quoted 20-30 minutes but definitely didn't wait that long. Which is always nice! It's such a cute place. I love all the colors. I wish the had bottomless mimoas. But let's be honest here, they had so many options for mimoas. I got the strawberry purée one because why not? Definitely a solid choice. Will definitely have to be back to try more flavors. Some of the most attentive service I have had! Our server was quick to get things out, always checked-in, and also got to-go cups for our drinks without even asking. The breakfast and lunch menu are rather large and it's a place where everyone can find something they like. I have been on a hazelnut latte kick and theirs was really good. I also got their breakfast tacos, which were full of flavor and serves on corn tortillas. Everything came out very quickly. I was on a bit of a time-crunch and was able to get in and out in about an hour, which was great for me. It's also a place where you can chat, sit, drink coffee, and catch up. Tangerine in Lafayette has earned a place in our rotation of weekend brunch places! We came here for Sunday brunch this morning, and the wait wasn't too bad in spite of the crowds. The 20-minute wait went by quickly, since there was free coffee for those of us waiting around. Also, Old Town Lafayette's Festival Plaza is just down the street so we moseyed around there while we waited. Having just completed an indoor cycling class first thing in the morning, I was so hungry I was ready to order two entrees just for myself. Instead, I tapped into my self-control and only ordered the hangar steak that came with polenta, grilled veggies, eggs over easy, avocado, and potatoes. It was so delicious and filling-- I finished the whole thing and felt satiated but not overly full. My beverage of choice was the chai tea, which was sweet and a good beverage to go with the steak and eggs. My husband ordered the corned beef hash, with eggs also over easy. I did a small taste test and found it to be flavorful without being too salty, which is always the worry when there's corned beef involved. His beverages of choice were the vanilla cold brew and a mango bellini. Both got his approval. We're really glad that we finally had a chance to check this place out. read more

Even though we came during a busy time there wasn't too long of a wait for the outdoor patio which was nice. They seemed to offer alot of outdoor tables and had created an additional space for outdoor dining in part of the parking lot. The food was really good! The menu has a wide variety of options to choose from and the prices are reasonable. I will note that there was a "business survival surcharge" that is added to every bill and the menu mentions it but none of the staff told us ahead of time. It really didn't end up being much and I get running at lower capacity is tough for the restaurants so it was no big deal. I only deducted one star because of the service - our waitress didn't say much besides taking our order and we felt kind of rushed to leave as soon as we finished eating. read more

Told her I ordered over easy and please bring a fresh plate since the hash and toast are no longer hot. Said she didn't know if she could do that. Came back with the same plate but right eggs. Actually told her that twice. Manager shows up and asks what's going on, that her waitress was in kitchen crying! Explained what happened. Manager pulls an attitude. Frustrated I push my plate and she asks what I want. Comp the meal. After you've eaten most of it? She comps but her attitude left a lot to be desired. I usually go to the Tangerine in Boulder, but went out here two days ago as I was already in Lafayette. The food is delicious, I got the BLR pancakes with a side of eggs. As always, they have some of the fluffiest, best pancakes around. I love Tangerine in Boulder, and the food is just as good at this location. I get their hot choco or tea usually and some pancakes! But I did have a weird experience. When I went to the bathroom before I ate, I saw an employee there go to the bathroom and not wash their hands. Then when I exited the bathroom, I saw that same employee wrapping the clean cutlery in napkins for the table. I'm not trying to be a germaphobe or tattle on anyone, but that's just plain gross. It's hard to get past that when you're eating somewhere as you worry about sanitation. Especially when it come to cutlery that you put in your mouth. I discretely said something to the server so she could tell the hostess to please wash her hands before touching clean cutlery. I also specified to please not embarrass her or get her in trouble, I just thought I should say something as I would hope other people would for me. Our server was also a bit unfriendly and seemed irritated with us after that, but I can move past that as long as they wash their hands. Will probably stick to the Boulder location next time as this wasn't the best experience. read more

Stopped here after a yoga class. There was a group of 4 and we got seated rather quickly. There were several yummy looking options on the menu. Ive been really into Turmeric lattes recently so was excited about that on the menu and I also got the Polenta dish which was poached eggs, spinach, onion, and polenta. It was pretty good. I thought the cost of a side of bacon was a little high. $3 for 3 average size slices of generic bacon. Service was really speedy and good. Thick fluffy slices with just the right amount of sweetness. The following day we came back with a couple more coworkers, and again- satisfaction. One coworker ordered the salmon Benedict, and from his description of it, it was just right. We ordered a French toast for the table, which unfortunately was not as great as the previous day. The ambiance was upbeat. When choosing from the Brunch Menu I was a little disappointed because they were out of a few items but I found something that looked good and indeed it was. I got the Full American (or was it English?) Breakfast with a couple eggs, toast, bacon and sausage. I enjoyed it all except the sausage was too spicy. I couldn't eat it. I also got coffee. It was very strong. So strong that I had to ask for more creamer to "tame" it down. I didn't get any warmups on my cup by the time I was ready to leave, but I wanted to finish the cup so I asked for a to go cup for the coffee. Now to be honest, most Servers just fill up a to go cup and give it to me. Not this one. She just gave me an empty cup. So I just poured my half cup in the empty cup. Oh well. I did get what I asked for. One last thing. When it came time to pay I asked the Server to charge each of the two cards appropriately for what we each had. She was pretty resistant to that. Wanted to split it evenly. But we ordered different things. The restaurant has the capability to separate the orders. So what's the big deal? Why the resistance? I'm not returning. read more

I just have to say how delicious the food is, however, my review is about the staff. They are fantastic! It was a super busy morning and I had a lovely waitress whose name I will misspell easily (Naimara?) she was beyond stellar. She was training a new, and also friendly, waitress while managing a very busy section. She was cool, calm, collected, nice and patient with me as I was new to the restaurant and very sluggish before coffee. She was attentive and just a shining example of such a great employee. Plus my order was spot on and she didn't neglect to check in regularly. Often if I eat alone, I end up sitting and forgotten, but not with her. She was great. Go on in and give her lots of kudos and the team. They are working hard and it shows. The place is full in the middle of the week and I'm sure it's because of these great people. read more
