This place has been my OBSESSION since they opened !! Ive had just about everything on the menu and every dish is better than the last !! The environment is warm, welcoming and feels like im sitting in a small restaurant in Argentina !! Ive got take out from here a few times as well and everything is packed perfectly and is still fresh and warm by the time i get home. I really cant get enough of this place !!

Grilled chicken sandwich. Just the last half.

The is our second time at this place and honestly if I could give 4 1/2 stars I would. The pros: The food is great, the place is clean and the servers have always been friendly. The cons: They still seem pretty disorganized after being open a few months. There are places above the counter for pictures but no pictures. There seems to be only one rather worn menu available at the counter for ordering. Since we were the only people in the place, 30 min to get our sandwiches seemed excessive. Granted my appetizer came out more quickly than that but they forgot my husband's salad completely. There are no fountain drinks, only sodas in cans and bottles of water but that said she didn't charge us for the water since it took her some time to ring us up. The food was very good both visits! The shrimp and avocado appetizer came with 8 good sized shrimp that tasted grilled and 3 halves of avocado with a delicious dressing/ sauce on a bed of lettuce. We got fries (not on the menu) with our sandwiches for $1.50 up charge and they were well worth it! Very crisp, maybe batter dipped? My grilled chicken sandwich and my husband's milanese were generously sized (forget to take pictures until we'd each already eaten half), on delicious bread that tasted house made, and overall very good. We had the empanadas last time and they were very good too. She mentioned there is also a spinach empanada not on the menu. I would go again but hope that they are a bit more together next time. The bathroom was clean but there was no purse/coat hook and the toilet paper was perhaps the thinnest I've ever seen. Again, not a deal breaker, just not as good as it could be.

Our waiter Ronald was friendly and helped with recommendations. We went with the appetizer sampler that included beef empanadas, tostones, chicharones de pollo and one other delicious item that I forgot the name of. We added morcilla (blood sausage) and yuca fries to the appetizer round. Both were very good. We enjoyed the whole red snapper, churrasco mofongo, and bacalao guisado mofongo. All were excellent but we found the dishes with the mofongo to be our favorites. We ended with flan, tres leches cake, and platanos maduros. All three were great, the platanos were piping hot and high quality! Somewhat surprised that they didn't have coffee available but all in all, a great experience!

Unprofessional and Discriminatory Treatment by Bartender Juan…read moreI came here with two of my friends (gay), and we all ordered the same drink, a pitcher of sangria that we shared equally. Out of nowhere, the bartender, Juan, decided to cut off only my two friends, even though we all drank the exact same amount. He told me I was fine to keep drinking, but refused to serve them and asked us to leave. The way he singled out my friends felt unfair, inconsistent, and discriminatory. They weren't acting drunk, disrespectful, or causing any issues. We were all just enjoying our time. Instead of explaining anything professionally, Juan handled the situation with attitude and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. This is not how customers should be treated, and it definitely ruined our experience. We won't be returning, and I hope management addresses this seriously.

Everything looked lovely, it was hard to decide on what to get. She had also just made some fresh pastries. I decided on some ube pendesal, and as I'm a sucker for tiramisu I also asked for that. She offered the fresh pendesal as well, which I couldn't say no to, so I got that as well. She was overall very nice. I saw the empanadas in the corner, and I know I'm already gonna have to come back to try more. She told me how to keep the pendesal fresh, and I thanked her and went to my car to try the breads. The fresh pandesal was amazing. Fluffy, light, warm, soft, a little sweet, just so good. The ube one was a little heavier, and had a halaya and cream cheese filling, which I just loved. It would've been better warm, but I was hungry and wanted to try things. I waited til I got home to try to tiramisu, and oh my god that is some of the best tiramisu I've had in the area. I tried one at the farmers market by an Italian lady, and I think this one is better. It has good ratios of everything. It's not drowning in coffee, the cream is nice and sweet, and it isn't too mushy. This will now be my go-to spot for tiramisu for sure. I can't wait to come back and try more!

So on a Thursday evening l picked up 2 combo specials from Capicu. It was Buy one get one free. Each combo was 22 dollars. I ordered off of the website for pick up. l ordered the Pernil (roasted pork) with white rice, beans and sweet plantains and my second combo was the pollo asado with rice with pigeon peas and tostones . On my way to pick up i got a call stating that they were out of the chicken (totally understandable since it was close to closing time ) So I opted for the beef empanadas. I appreciate the customer service of them calling me before I got there and giving me different options. Upon arrival I was uncomfortable with the smell. Not sure if it was old oil and grease but it was pleasant. I received my food (which was so plentiful when I checked in the car.) However , the smell of the food , was as if the oil that it was prepared with was old. Not pleasant at all. Smelled up my entire car. Finally home to taste the peril was just okay 4/10 it tasted old and like it in fact had been prepared or reheated with dirty oil. The sides and empanadas were not bad. 7/10

Taste of Brazil was the food truck here that night, so I scoped their menu online before ordering. We both ordered the chicken plate - mine without the plantains and his with. They were supposed to be open for ordering at 5:00 pm, but didn't start taking orders until nearly 5:30. Then, the waiting... and waiting... and waiting... 45 minutes later (and we were 3rd in line to order), we finally got our food (they definitely need to prep ahead of time for the anticipated lines). It was NOT worth the wait and we were really disappointed. For $10 each, we got a ton of plain basmati rice, some black beans, the most tasteless, dry chicken, a little shredded lettuce and a couple of grape tomatoes. I definitely wouldn't seek out the brick and mortar location and, if they're on schedule at a brewery, would be eating at home first or finding another way to spend my time.

The regular beef empanada was good. I do wish we had known to ask for sauce. I've noticed much much later really way too late. The other tables had sauces and ours did not so I am sure the empanada would've been even better with some sort of sauce. The sampler was OK. It was basically the same thing sort of repeated three different times and three different breads, but the breadsall tastes the same they were just different shapes. I wasn't a big fan of the chicken that was shredded inside, but my son loved the cheese sticks. The best were the tacos. Hands down I would skip the other items and go straight to the tacos. They were absolutely delicious. And there was definitely enough rice and beans with the one to go around. Service was OK. They forgot about us for a long time and they never offered the sauces until the very end when I saw the other tables had it and I asked for some but at that point I only had one taco left and we had eaten everything else. They weren't busy either because we are early birds when it comes to eating. It is definitely authentic and I would try it again, but maybe just be more cognizant of what's available.

I was immediately intrigued and decided to make a detour to check it out. The "open" neon sign was on, but the lighting inside the shop is not very bright, so it gave the impression that it was closed. It has a very modest decor. Nothing fancy, but practical. They have the typical armoire-like cabinet to hold and showcase their baked goods and a cold fridge. Two words: tres leches! This cake is sold by the slice, but according to some other reviews, you can order by the cake too. The tres leches is 2 layers and each layer is THICK. The cake is saturated nicely with the three milks. The container looks jam packed. If I remember correctly, the price was super reasonable too! Tres leches is one of my favorite cakes and this one did not disappoint. I had to eat it in the course of a couple of days.
