Tapa Bar is located in the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu next to the Tapa Tower. We stopped in on our first day while waiting for our room to be ready and ordered some drinks and appetizers - Hot Wings and Waffle Fries. The Hot Wings were mediocre at best and were $25 for 6 wings! Waffle Fries were nothing special either, but at least they were only $6. The other day we visited, we ordered a Rueben to share - the pastrami meat was cold even though it was a toasted sandwich. The drinks are much better - I enjoyed a few Pina Coladas during my stay. They offer table seating around the entire bar plus bar top seating - it has a great view of one of the pools and they have a ton of TVs. It was great watching the Niners defeat the Eagles here on Sunday with a bunch of fans! Overall, Tapa Bar is good for drinks, but I would not recommend for food. Staff was amazing and consistent though!

Just including pictures as proof of being there tonight...

So for years now I have had good friends and business partners complain how bad this bar was. I never really followed up because over 10 years, I figured they had an off night. Tonight June 23rd 2026, from about 7pm to 10pm, there was the most embarrassing service ever. So all those years of not calling corporate is over. I'm embarrassed for the people of Hawaii to have their visitors come to the Tapa Bar and receive, way less then bad service. I didn't get names of service people but the older chinese lady server should not be serving. I'll call corporate to explain but the bottom line - she was the worse ever and she had no pride in her self or her job. We ordered water and when I went to get water for the table, the 2 bartenders pointed to cups and water jugs instead of stepping up and pouring it. They were not pouring drinks, they were just standing there. So for corporate, please mark the servers, waitresses, bartenders, working on June 23, 2026 between 7pm and 10pm, they need to be retrained, but I doubt that would happen. No pride or work ethic between all of them. Since I called into corporate, they gave me 2 managers names, and again, I will call corporate this week. But the 2 names I received were Tiffany Okamoto, tokamoto@hilton.com and Vincent Brunetti, vbrunetti@hilton.com. I am writing their names down because there is no way that they don't know what goes on at the Tapa Bar. I don't even work for Hilton but I am extremely embarrassed how the Tapa Bar is managed and run. Again, I can do a detailed write up but I'll just explain to corporate via phone...

Stopped by here for lunch while staying at Hilton Hawaiian Village and was frankly a bit disappointed at the food quality (at least for the pizza we ordered)--tasted very "generic" and did not pack a lot of flavor despite being the meat lover's pizza. The wings that were supposed to be salt and vinegar did not have much of a vinegar taste to it either. Service was excellent though as far as staff goes. Drinks are good, and ambiance is excellent when there is live music in the evenings, so do stop by for that at least!

We watched a playoff football game here and it was really busy. We were able to snag a table during happy hour. The waitresses were spread pretty thin but she was still able to help us out quickly when we flagged her down. We order off the happy hour menu. The awful fries were delicious but definitely way too spicy once we got to the peppers. So we ordered the loaded fries to try to balance everything out. Fries were what you would expect, good but nothing crazy. Drinks were pretty good and a good place to watch the game

Just had burgers and some drinks. This bar is at the bottom of our building. First night here, tired and hungry and ordered the funguy burger and loaded fries. The burger was very good but the bun overpowered the burger. Brioche bun which is my favorite bun but way too big. The burger itself was good but not enough of their sauce. Loaded fired were good but soggy. Drinks were good and generous pours. All in all good but very pricey but expected at the hotel.

The Tapa Bar is such a great place to have a drink and/or grab a quick bite to eat any time of the day. This little bar is located o the Hilton Hawaiian Village resort just past the check in (almost centered in the resort). They offer both bar and table seating, depending what mood or company you have. It is very lively, since it's located next to one of the resorts small pool, but also has live entertainment every evening. This is kid friendly, so long as they sit at the available tables. It is a full bar offering a variety of local beers and traditional domestic and imports. While away from home, I have to try those beers that are local to the area and not available near home. The bartenders can mix up anything you ask for, or you may choose from their unique cocktails. David is one of the Tapa Bar bartenders that works here (but you can also find him filling in at other bars within the resort). He is very friendly and, when not too busy, will spike up a conversation with you. I can't end the review without talking about their food. They offer a small menu of food and appetizers. I tried their burger and fries. Although it was simple, it had great flavor. Be aware of the birds that perch around the area. They seem to always be watching. If you leave your food unattended, they will know and swoop in! When they say "Please Don't Feed The Birds" they mean it.

The drinks here are amazing. They were fast with service and have a few drinks that are off the menu. I really enjoyed my drink. The band playing was enjoyable as well.

Great experience here while on vacation. Got the loaded fries and they were good. Definitely bar food but that's not a bad thing. It is a large portion and flavorful. Service was a little slow and our waiter was a little too interested in the tv. The dining is outdoors and the weather was excellent. For a quick bite out then on your list.

Came here 9:00sh pm, listening to their live music and to grab a beer and pupu's. Nice menu with a variety for all. Shared a pizza and Buffalo wings. Food is meh, tastes liked everything came out of the freezer. Service was nice, band was great. Fun just to hang out with friends and cousins. A chill place!

Finally got to take my daughter here to this resort with her bestie and besties mom! We went every night and enjoyed the live music so much. Their eagle fries are amazing and the drinks are pretty good too! The women serving were all wonderful!!

Great to unwind after a full day on tour. Great food and superb frozen daiquiris, mine was made with passion fruit. The place is as centrally located in the Hilton Village as it could be. Great as a rendezvous point with friends. Yes, it's not cheap. Drinks are about 15.00. But that's the going price in a luxury resort. if I had wanted Walmart pricing, I wouldn't have gone on vacation. As it is, we very much enjoyed it.

Showed up for Happy Hour (3-5pm) Labor Day weekend, but was informed that the Happy Hour specials were not being offered during the union strike. My server was super nice and got my drinks quickly despite the circumstances. Hilton had to pivot quickly for food service with CJ's and Round Table pizza serving their menus. Was able to get a table by the pool. The pina colada was refreshing, and the Mai Tai was strong. Even though service was a little slow, everyone was friendly and professional. Would definitely come back when things go back to normal and visit at night during live music. This was the place to be on hotel premises. Thanks for the afternoon cocktails after a long hula festival weekend.

We ordered Seafood Paella, Mushrooms appetizer. The second time we added different menu. Seafood Paella, added Shrimp Ajillo with fresh homemade bread, Arugula beets salad. The third time ( this time ) we added another different menu. The more we come, the more we can try new menu and enjoy new tastes. Honestly El Cielo, all menu we tried even wine and draft beers, were top class, I love to nominate as the best restaurant in Hawaii. I am so glad I found the great restaurant, I was seeking for. Prices were not bad, as inflation everything costs are so expensive nowadays. Everywhere!! Their services are great too. If I live close by I would go El Cielo once or twice a week. Thank you so much. I will love to come back soon again.

I really enjoyed the octopus. Not too soft. It came with a nice chew and sat on a bed of thinly sliced potatoes. I could've eaten the whole dish by myself...No sharing next time. The egg custard was light, with a hint of bacon flavor. It was served in the shell in a high heeled shoe dish. So cute! The entrées were a bit of a different story... I ordered the pork shoulder at first and the waiter recommended it be done, medium rare. I have to say I am no longer a fan of bloody meat so I asked for it to be done medium. Honestly, it arrived and to my palate was a bit tasteless.... given that it was almost $60 I thought twice but was encouraged to send it back. The waiter was accommodating and I ordered the lamb chops instead. Two thick sliced lamb chops arrived about 15 minutes later and were a perfect medium served on a bed of potato and sweet potato. I really enjoyed this.... I like my lamb chops usually grilled, juicy and fatty. These were refined, trimmed of the fat and beautifully plated. I'd like to try the paella next time and more of the appetizers. Really good choice of fancy little cocktails also. I would reserve the back room for sure next time. That room has high ceilings and feels elevated. The front room where we sat was OK. I'd also opt for the outside seating area on a breezy evening... Otherwise it can be rather humid in the summer. Overall, excellent service and delicious food offerings. A bit pricey to be expected given the area.

We started our vacation with dinner at the Hideout, and upon entering you could immediately hear live music. We received a warm welcome, and brought over to our booth where our server Kai was quick to greet us. We ordered cocktails (I don't remember the name of mine. I mentioned that it was just a general question and i wasn't coming that night. They informed me that it's validated for two hours and it's first come first serve. After the 2 hours its $14 an hour. Getting into the valet area was stressful enough as there was a car parked right before you turn and pedestrians that walk back and forth from their main driveway entrance. I also had to wait for valet for a bit too as there was 2 other cars in front of me and probably only 2 valet on duty trying to move cars forward. Reservations can be made on open table, but there was really no point to doing that since it's open seating during happy hour times. We ended up just picking a table that was in the shade, and noticed they only have their menu by QR code which is kinda annoying. The server was pretty nice tho and he brought my dog some water mid way. Their happy hour runs from 2-6 and the menu is slightly less expensive. The food was kind of standard hotel type of food and nothing really stood out. Otherwise the vibes at the restaurant was nice and i do like that they allow dogs to join you. it seems like they have live music after a certain time. I was even more annoyed and stressed with the valet when i went to pick up my car. They literally just handed me my keys. My car was parked along the wall probably 20 steps away, but they could have at least taken out my car cause it was so hard to get out, but i guess it's nice they trust that i wont bang the car in front of back of me i guess even tho im a pretty terrible parker. at the time they didn't look as busy as when i first arrived, so i dont know why they couldn't have just done the bare minimum with just pulling out my car from the stall.

I on the other hand had asked for a non-alcoholic option. Unfortunately, they ran out of ginger beer, all the sparkler options, and didn't serve any soda. The bartender looked pretty irritated by that point, and didn't even provide me with a glass of water. We would've grabbed a bunch of food to compensate for taking up a seat, but by then, the bartender had already dropped the check, and we hadn't even sat there for more than 5 minutes. We also got the fried calamari and it was perfectly golden and tender, not rubbery at all. Light, crispy coating and super snackable -- especially dipped in the sauce. But the sleeper hit? The smoked ahi with lavosh. So flavorful and fresh, with that smoky richness balanced by the crisp lavosh. It felt light but still packed with taste -- a perfect contrast to the heavier fried stuff. Honestly, everything hit. Great mix of indulgent and fresh, and I'd order this exact combo again without hesitation.

The space is relaxed and inviting, with a calm, tucked-away feel that makes you forget you're inside a hotel. The happy hour menu is impressively priced, with starters beginning at just $6, yet everything feels thoughtfully prepared and elevated. Highlights included the toasted bread with sun-dried tomato pistou -- warm, crisp toast paired with a deeply savory, herbaceous spread that's simple but incredibly satisfying. The mini poke bowl was fresh and well-balanced, showcasing clean flavors and quality fish without being overly heavy. The fish tacos delivered exactly what you want: crispy island fish, bright flavors, and a great balance of texture. We also tried the fish and chips, featuring lightly fried island fish, hot fries, and a creamy house remoulade that tied the dish together beautifully.
