I ended up having to pay with cash (luckily I had enough cash on me). The worker gave me a free upgrade on my mango snowbubble for the payment inconvenience which was nice. One thing I am pretty disappointed about is the amount of popcorn chicken given to me in my order. It's already a small snack bag to begin with and for $7 I wish they could have at least filled the bag, but they only gave me half the bag as shown in the photo. Service can be better. Treats can be more healthier and tastier. Tried the fruity pebbles waffle and spit it right out. Careful when you mix your drink, check to see if they sealed it all the way. This location does not make the same high quality tasting drinks as Union City, CA. I love Tapioca express and have been coming for over 20 years and this is the first time I ever did not like the drinks. They were not sweet even though I requested 100% sweet and it was not blended and was very watery for both the snow bubble and milk tea. It's like night and day from what I know. Also the boba was very soft like a pudding and didn't have that nice chewy texture. It shouldn't matter which store you go to, it should at least be somewhat similar to each other and this was by far way off. Help Fremont improve. This review is strictly on the drinks. read more

I really like their chichi fries when it's fresh and warm. The avocado shake can be better due to the fact that I'm not a big fan of too much ice in my avocado shake. One thing in my order that can be improved is maybe make the avocado shake smooth texture. Unless I ordered something different other than a regular shake. 0/10, would NOT recommend! We went there and ordered 2 milk teas, 1 strawberry snow, & 2 popcorn chicken (one with spice level 1 & spice level 2). We got out drinks and was given a paper bag, which I assumed was our 2 popcorn chickens, so we walked out and went into our car. Once in the car, the worker walked out of store and knocked on our window of our car and asked for the calamari that was in our bag because they accidentally gave it to us. So we went in the bag and gave it back to the guy because we didn't order that. The guy went back inside and then came back out a second time. He again approached us and asked for the whole bag back because that whole order wasn't ours and handed us two small bags of popcorn chicken. So we accepted it and gave the bag back with someone else's order. The teas were very bitter and my strawberry snow had big chunks of ice, not to mention he forgot my boba in my drink. The chicken was cold and was not spicy at all. There was no spice level difference between the two like I ordered. So, I went back inside to ask if we can get a refund because it was not what we asked for, the guy said that we can just add the spice ourselves and pointed to the spice can on the side. I basically had to argue with the worker to have him call his manager, so I can get a refund. The worker was apologetic, but did not need to argue. In the end, I got a refund and no boba. AND the worker still gave that same order that we had in our car and that we touched to the other customer that was picking it up! read more

Terrible experience at this location, would not come back. Sticking with the tapioca express in union city even it's 20 mins away. There was only one group ahead of us yet it took 30 minutes for 3 drinks and a popcorn chicken, and after finally getting my drink and already being upset with waiting 30 minutes we drove off and then realized they forgot to put the boba in my milk tea which I paid .50 cents extra for. They also would not put in the student discount after I handed him my cash saying it was too late. They were rude and service is extremely slow even when they're not busy, at the union city location it gets packed but they work extremely fast they also have a better menu of drinks and food and their drinks/food taste much better than at this location. The service is not good. I get it, grand opening but man I ordered my boba at 1:25 and I got it at 2. Unfortunately the boba itself just tasted like milk drenched with sugar. I really like tapioca express but man it feels like the workers there don't know how to make it or don't understand what we tried to order. Almost got my order wrong because I had to repeat it multiple times before the understood what I wanted to get. Nothing extraordinary report, especially since there are a lot of boba places in the area all with very unique offerings. When I visited, they were out of regular tapioca. Luckily, they had the mini tapioca to substitute. The lower rating is a result of having to wait 10+ minutes even though there was only one other customer in the store. I ordered 4 drinks from this Tapioca Express. Three large Taro Smoothies and a large Earl Grey Milk Tea. First of all, I asked for an Avocado Snow Bubble, and they told me it "will take long to make". We asked how long it would take and they said, "30 minutes"? Even by the look of the employee's face he didn't seem like he even wanted to make it. If you have a flavor on your menu, make sure you have it ready and not turn a customer down for not having it, if anything remove it off your menu because the avocado was literally the only reason why we decided to go here. The Taro Snow Bubble was not "snowy" or "icy" at all. It was very thick, literally the same exact texture as yogurt. The people here are very lazy and disrespectful. Came here yesterday for the first time, ordered my hot milk tea drink and french fries. After waiting for 5 minutes I noticed nobody was making my drink. There were 2 workers in the front counter, 1 was eating behind the counter and taking a break eating a bread and taking his time and the other one was taking customers orders. I saw no effort at all from the workers in preparing the customers orders. The workers behind the counter looked clueless in what they are doing, they looked lost. I was so disappointed that something simple to make took almost 20 minutes to make. My french fries were already done but my drink was not yet ready. I also noticed my fries was not even full not even half full, and already the bag it was in is already small. This place is ridiculous and they looked oblivious to what they are doing.
