Great food. Got the Filet Mignon and 6 oz. Lobster cooked to perfection. The sides were great, loved the Yukon Gold mash and greens & carrots. Our waitress Maylynne was very good. Had a buy one get one free entree and decided to try it. Big mistake! We both ordered make your own hamburger. Requested rare to medium rare and it was medium. We've patronized this business since they opened but we were so disappointed during our last visit when they added a "service charge" to our total bill and when we asked, we were told it is for "gratuity ". Since when does a restaurant automatically add a 20% gratuity to a party of 2 people? The explanation we received from the hostess is every time a customer used a players card to get a discount, a "service charge " is added to the bill. We stopped at the Hamburg Taproom hoping to find a new "hangout". We were not disappointed. The bartender was very friendly and informative about this new ownership. We ordered hot garlic knots and onion rings. The knots were fresh baked rolls with plenty of garlic and Parmesan cheese. The onion rings were superb. We have returned weekly and have taken many friends there and they ALL have enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The place is immaculate and the employees are all friendly. Fish tacos need the tortilla to be smaller and fish fresher and larger and juicier like Senior Baja's. Pizza maker needs a bit of training but flavors and crust was good. Second time around was so different! Orders were accurate, wait times were great considering how busy it can get. Food is ok. However, the service sucks. The servers are under trained, they have no idea of how to serve with customer service. They seem rushed and yet take a very long time to take your order. The menu has quite a variety and the ice bar has a good selection of beers. Heads up...don't order the cod! Why they got rid of the salmon is anyone's guess. Oh don't bother with the fried chicken either (very small portion). The double bone in pork chop is moist and tasty. Most importantly make sure you leave room for the Buttercake, it's served warm with a huge scoop of Vanilla Haagen Daz and then topped with some fresh berries it's to die for!! The reason it only got 4 stars is bcuz I think management is new to the game and still needs to iron out some things. If you don't want that to hinder your experience then make sure you get seated in Jorges (George not Horhay) section. He is top notch, a waiter that definitely knows how to accommodate the customer! We have been going to Taproom 29 since it opened and we normally love it. Last week we brought our children for a nice dinner out. My son ordered the filet mignon meal with the added lobster tail and asked for it to be medium rare. Three of our meals came out on time (my husband's burger overcooked) and my son had to wait an additional 25 minutes for his food. By the time his food came the rest of us were almost finished with our meal. His steak was very overcooked as well. We mentioned it to our waitress and she said she would talk to the manager and then we never saw her again. We had to find someone else to get our check. As someone who frequented this restaurant often I am very upset that not only was our food not right but the staff did nothing to try to make it right. read more

Only reason why this review gets 1 star is cause It won't let me leave a review unless I chose 1 star! This place is a mess!!!! I don't think not 1 person that works there has ever worked at a restaurant before in their life. Service was horrible, we had to keep looking for our server, we only got 40% of everything that we ordered and when the food did come out it was at all at different times and everything was cold. We spoke to idk how many different servers and managers and everyone promised that they would get it right and no one did. At the end they still put everything we didn't receive on our bill and we had to go up and tell them everything we didn't get so that they would take it off our bill. The manager came over after we paid and said he discounted it which he didn't so I called him on it and he looked at the bill and was in shock of how much food we didn't get. He said he would discount us but we were so over it we told him we didn't want it and left. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!!! read more

Service was terrible. Server came to our table once every 30 mins. Some of our party got their food 45 mins behind the rest of us and we never got 1/3 of the food we ordered. We had to flag down who we thought was the manager and they assured us they'd fix things...never happened and we continued to get incorrect food orders. It was almost impossible to get drink refills or ketchup for the sides of fries we ordered. Took forever to get the bill and when we finally did they hadn't taken any of the food we never got off so we had to wait another 15 mins just to get a manager to void the food off the receipt...then the manager comes out once we've already paid and said sorry for your experience I discounted your bill...he hadn't. He apologized again and offered to refund some money but we were so over it by that time we said no thank. Mind you our bill over $200 had we got all the food we ordered. Beyond irritating. Food tastes like microwave food. Most annoying part was how no one was apologetic but rather rude towards everyone in our party. read more

I'm not sure the last time you mistaken a grandma for being 50 years younger but my guess would be never. Ok, the bartender doesn't know what she's doing. Call over the manager Terry? For some common sense and nope! None there either. BTW serving someone who is 70 without an I.D. isn't illegal. Anyone can be verified without one by authorities. Like they say you can't fix stupid. I finally stopped by Taproom 29 today to check it out. The beer selection (and solid service) made it worth the trip. I had a Citra/Nelson IPA from Brewery X and an old school Sierra Nevada Celebration. The ice ring around the bar is a cool idea (even if beer *can* be too cold). The only negative for me was the thick cloud of smoke hanging over us. (It is in a casino, after all.) I'll be back. read more

The food and drinks are good, but minus 3 stars for the extra charge on my bill. I order the Baja fish tacos, and on the menu it says $2 to upgrade to shrimp. I upgraded my tacos and when the bill came back the upgrade price was now $4. My waitress claimed to have spoken with the manager and they would not change the bill to the price stated on their menu. Instead they would quote" work on updating their menus to the correct price." So look out, the menu might not reflect the true price of whatever you may order. read more
