Taqueria Don Tacho is Lompoc's best kept secret. The tacos here are very tasty and always freshly prepared. The best part of it all, you're not breaking the bank to get your hands on some quality Mexican food. My go-to orders are their tacos al pastor which are $1.69 ea. And their shrimp tacos which are $2.09. The stuffed churros are $2.00 and are always fresh and piping hot. Taqueria Don Tacho is quickly becoming my favorite Mexican restaurant. Do not go there if you are starved. I ordered 2 tacos, and it took them 20 minutes. We shouldn't have to wait that long. They have to improve their service. Too expensive as well. 3$ for a taco. read more

My family of 10 always order every week and this place does not disappoint. I totally recommend this place if you love tacos alpastor, it's so flavorful and the salsas make it even better! They offer a variety of options you'll never get bored! Really different from other Mexican restaurants in Lompoc. The best part of this restaurant is they are always busy so that gotta tell you this place rocks. Totally recommend ordering online if you want to skip the line because when I come in for lunch as well, that phone doesn't stop ringing and with a line of customers. Don Tacho is worth driving an hour from San Luis Obispo at least once a week. It's that good.

Green chilaquiles were awful soggy tortillas and to much sauce. They just gave us a little bit of beans. I had to ask where the rice and beans that were supposed to come with it. Couldn't even eat the plAye without feeling would get sick. Fish tacos were good. They did compensate me with a fruit cup. A dinner would of been better. Don't think I will come back. read more

Tried this today and ordered 3 orders of flautas rice & beans, and nachos for delivery. 1. They weren't flautas, they were taquitos and they weren't good. 2. The rice & beans were not good 3. I had a good impression of this place before I was discriminated against. My friend (who is a student at Allan Hancock) told me about this taqueria and I noticed that they have a nice discount for students. My friend had gotten the discount before.i am a student as well at Allan Hancock this semester and went to the taqueria the other night to enjoy some tacos. The girl at the register refused to give me the student discount and claimed it was only for high school students (this is not qualified anywhere on their advertising for student discounts and I know it's not true because I have friends that attend Allan Hancock that take advantage of these specials). If I wasnt with friends I would have walked out. I don't have any plans to come to this establishment again. read more

Place just open... love their food! So good! All their salsas are awesome too. Quality food and quality salsa makes an excellent combo! I definitely will be coming back and they have specials everyday! I love specials. Employees are very friendly. Salsa sometimes runs out. Food sometimes takes a little while but it's worth the wait. We have ordered from Don Tacho three times now and they are consistently so good! Their al pastor is authentic, the best we've had in town! We ordered delivery on Cinco de Mayo, we expected it to take a long time for the delivery, but when the driver showed up they gave us a free soda and apologized profusely for how long it took. We really felt that was above and beyond! The only reason I gave them 4 stars and not 5 is their asada isn't as good as their al pastor. This spot has always been my go-to for tacos so much since they've opened at their current location that they probably know my order by heart! The chicken tacos are my favorite because they are incredibly flavorful (more so with their creamy green sauce). And I had recently tried their asada and al pastor tacos which are now my new all time favorites! I've also tried multiple other items on their menu and would still rate every item 5/5. Anyways, I had recently ordered delivery with a note that said "please leave food at the door. house with coronavirus victims. thanks in advance!" and had received my food with a lovely note and candy! I gotta say after receiving a positive result for the covid and being isolated and quarantined (even though I'm asymptomatic), nothing made me feel better than receiving this note. The staff has always been kind every time I pick up my order and this was beyond kind! They have quite the variety on their menu, we got a pastor burrito and an asada torta. It all looked great, however most of my meat in my torta was raw, the burrito was not wrapped well, first bite and it all unfolded and the meat was mostly fat. Very disappointed in the place, I would not recommend this spot to anyone in Lompoc. I ordered food and waited almost an hour for my order to come out when it was not that busy. Worst part was my order was just sitting there while the employees were chit chatting. Food was cold, soggy, and very salty by then and I called to speak with the person in charge JUAN and he said he'd give me credit for next time. Funny thing 5 days later I call to use my credit and he says I already used it which I clearly did not. Seems to me they don't know how to take care of customers and he said his daddy is the owner so that makes him the boss too. Great Mexican Food. Everything I have ordered has been on point and very delicious. The al pastor are excellent, they don't skimp.

My family ordered a really large order of different meats for tacos with sides for family dinner. After arriving home. We noticed that we had no tortillas. And they forgot to give us the deserts we ordered. We had to go back for the deserts. Then we noticed that the tortillas were not with the order. We called. They said that had to order the tortillas by the pound. I was like, "WTF!" The person who took the order didn't even offer tortillas. We told her that we were having tacos. SMH read more

We have eaten at Don Tacho 3 times now. I found the shrimp tacos to be really good and my husband likes the chimichangas. I'm only giving them 2 stars, however, because of an incident with their online ordering. We placed a $75 order online - it's an additional $2 for cheese per item, $0.75 for lettuce per item, etc. We spent probably an extra $10 on these add ons, got home and none of our orders were made like we had specified. We asked for no sour cream on the nachos and they were drenched with it. None of our items had lettuce or cheese. I just mentioned it to one of the employees who said, "oh." She did not offer a refund or to comp the order we just placed. Super bummed that they don't seem to look at their online orders closely, nor do they want to make it right when they make a mistake. read more

Ended up in Lompoc while on some errands and saw yelp recommended this taco spot and decided to get some carne asada burritos, they were big, fat, and juicy! I'd give it five stars if the meat was seasoned a little more and cooked a little more it was more squishy that crispy and I'm very picky about texture, also if people would leave the building after ordering that would be great because people trying to order have to wait outside while people waiting for the food are inside which makes no sense if the cashier has already given you a time estimate.
