Coming here there can be little to no parking and it is in an awkward area right next to Travis base fence border. As soon as you step in the fan is blowing, the air is humid, and there truly is no sense of cleanliness. It reminds me of Filipino oriental stores that I still go to, so it is a home like feeling. If I eat out I want something different, not to feel like I'm home, or else I would have stayed home. I can not complain about the service because the staff is always nice. Now for the food. I have to say the food has not always be on my side when I come; maybe it's always like that at this point. I eat here whenever my friends want Mexican food, however I like the one closer to the base entrance, they have an all you can eat salsa bar with so many selections, and it is free too! And free water cups with ice! This place does not have that! Disappointing! On top of that the food here is over priced, always dry, and salty. I am so close to turning my friends' offer down if they choose to eat here again. There is better and cheaper Mexican places to eat. Sorry but some things have to change..

The Super Burrito was alright but it was kinda little salty, it was really huge I think the tortilla wrap was like a 2XL.

We were near Travis AFB and happened to see a BBQ place so we stopped. This spot is a little out of the way but so worth your time, go. It's a small spot with indoor and outdoor tables for folks, stand up and order and sit down and they bring you food. We got a cheese quesadilla, a torte Cubano, three taco plate and a quesabirria plate plus some chips and salsas. The food started rolling out about two minutes after we sat down no lie. Tacos were big, handmade tortillas and filled with meats. Al Pastor hits, get it. The quesadilla was also massive and stuffed with cheese, perfection. Chips are handmade, they were still warm and the salsas were excellent, ask for the hot red salsa, trust. The Torta Cubano is not your typical torta, it had like every meat in the kitchen plus an egg. It was hella filling and hella tasty. The quesabirria tacos were a slam dunk, crispy chewy and cheesy. The consumme was so flavorful I wanted to drink it. Family run. Family owned. Family recipes. Delicious. I forgot to say the people who work there are so nice. It was like my friends mom Paz was making me lunch, very family friendly.

Fuuuuu-kiiiiiing DELICIOUS! I love their food. After looking for a great taqueria I came across this gem. It's soooooo good. The employees are great. Haven't really checked out the restaurant because we're always ordering to go . Highly recommend!!!!!

We stumbled onto this taqueria when we were looking for BBQ near Travis Air Force Base. There is a BBQ sign on top and that's cause they're in the old location of CJ's BBQ which closed down. But that BBQ sign was a blessing cause the Mexican food here is some of the best I've had. Since we were craving BBQ, they had pork ribs which we couldn't pass up once I saw they were being grilled outside on what I assume is the old CJ's setup. And once I saw the sign for birria tacos I could not pass those up either! Both were delicious and while the pork ribs were great, I really have to give it to the birria tacos. So tender and flavorful on the inside, while the tacos are grilled so it's crispy on the outside. The service was super friendly, very much a mom and pop stop, the portions were huge and prices were on point for all the delicious food you get. We got both the ribs plate and birria tacos plate and you can see for yourself how huge the portions are. It could easily feed 4+, so with just 2 of us, we had plenty of leftovers for 2nd lunch! This place is kind of out of the way, but is totally worth the trip. I can't wait to go back and get more birria tacos!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon craving some Mexican food with some friends and it was really good! I ordered the carnitas quesadilla and of course a birria taco. The meat was nice and juicy, well seasoned and loved the rice and beans. The service was nice and friendly and I believe that it was just a husband and wife duo cooking and serving guests so good job on them for holding it down (: The restaurant was clean, no complaints from here really. I'd definitely eat here again (:

Lacking the intense flavor im searching for. But the portions are huge!! Location way way way in the back of Fairfield. Next to the Airforce base. If you see a tattoo shop...you're in the right place lol

A solid 4 stars!!! After eating my way through Santa Clarita, I came back to NorCal craving good Mexican food. All the usual spots had gone down hill since COVID, so I u needed to find something new and reliable. This place caught my eye because of their logo. It reminded me of a belt buckle my mother once had from New Mexico, so I knew that this was a good sign. After reviewing their menu and photos on Yelp, we rolled up to order. We got chicken nachos for the kids, a quesabirria plate for me and an al pastor taco plate for the hubs. The kitchen was hotter than Hades, and while it was 90 degrees outside, we opted to sit outside and watch planes land on base. The food came out quickly, service was friendly and everything was piping hot. Once home, we quickly ate half the nachos before even sitting down. They were that good. The chicken was tender and moist, the chips grueso and crispy and the tomatillo salsa was perfect on top. The beans and rice plates had great flavor as well. I preferred the quesabirria to the Al pastor. The al pastor had an odd, sour, almost vinegar flavor and it was off putting to me. I will definitely come back for the nachos!

I'll be honest, I was a bit skeptical because it's right outside the base and looks a tiny bit sketchy... but one bite of the Birria tacos and I can't wait to go back and bring visitors. The Birria tacos were SO good and fairly priced too. $12 for a plate of two with beans, rice, salsa and the taco dip. Plus, the tacos were HUGE. It wasn't some tiny taco for for buck it was a two giant tacos! In fact, I only ate one and felt good normally two would be good though if you have a bigger appetite like I normally do. If you live on base or even don't, TRY this place! I brought my second taco home to my husband yesterday and he is already asking if we can go back today! Haha! Also, my friend got a burrito the size of her head for $12, too! Seems high for a burrito but it was loaded with everything and big enough for two meals.

This place is a hidden gem! Really good food for a very fair price. It's a local mom and pop spot and they do such a good job. If you're looking for Mexican food this is a great spot to check out. It's right next to Travis so if you work on base this is an excellent lunch spot. I ordered the super burrito and it was great. It was also massive so if you don't want a huge lunch then maybe get something a little smaller. 4.75 stars

Our middle daughter Mya heard about Birria Tacos and went on a mission to find them. How did we miss this all our lives!!! Pure deliciousness is what We just experienced!! This place is small and and quaint but don't let that fool you. They pack a mean punch of a menu with food you must have in your life!! Beware that green sauce will give you just enough heat to confirm your existence. We will be back, much love !!

Since I walked in I was greeting by a man and a woman. Jesus the man at the shop Made me feel just at home. Even went through the menu with me I got the queso birria rice plate All I can say is WOW!!! Made with nothing but love. I eat a lot of Mexican restaurants but this has to be top 3 in my book. Gotta love mom & pop shops. I highly recommend trying this. It's dangerously GOOD!

Looking for some delicious Mexican food?! You should definitely check out Taqueria Durango BBQ! It is located close to Travis Air Force Base. The service was great, we walked in and were greeted kindly. We enjoyed the beef flautas, carne asada nachos and the quesabirria taco and there was no complaints from us for any of it! I would say my favorite was the taco, the meat was tender, and the consume was very flavorful. Since I forgot to take a picture of the food, it looks like we will need to go back again soon! read more

We arrived at 12:30pm and we must have just missed the lunch rush since every empty table was covered in food/plates. We both ordered the taco plate since it was the only thing with a description. I assume it was only the owners (a couple) working and they really would have benefited from having at least a busser. We had to wait for a table to be cleaned before sitting, but the food arrived quickly. He brought by chips and salsa. The chips seemed to be homemade and were delicious- crunchy, thick and salty they paired perfectly with the salsa (medium spice). The rice and beans were yummy, the chicken tacos were good, but lacked a little flavor for me. They were better with a little of the salsa on top. I took a star off purely for cleanliness. I'm definitely looking forward to trying something different next time. read more

I have no idea why this restaurant has 4 stars . It was terrible. The rice was hard and had 0 flavor , the beans were literally one piece like slime you can pick it up and squish it, the customer service is terrible, I picked up my food at 6:20 pick up was at 6:30. I get home check my food and I don't have the guacamole or sour cream on my quesadilla, and there is no cilantro and onions for my quesabirria. Also the tomatoes for the "pico" were SOUR. I tried calling 12 times. I wish I was exaggerating, no answer so I tried to go back and made it back there at 6:49 they close at 7. The closed sign is already up so I knock because they should be cleaning then since closing is at 7, no one is answering no one is there . I am 100000% dissatisfied and disappointed. Complete waste of money and now I have a sour taste in my mouth. read more

The gentleman working during my visit was very friendly!! He offered us a variety of salsas. I got pastor tacos, they were good. My daughter and husband tried the carnitas super burrito, which tasted great. The environment was very laid back and home-y. We watched tv and got sodas from a fridge and our dinner was brought to us quick. It felt like I was at a family members house getting authentic homecooked Mexican food for me. Hands down the best quesa birria tacos out of any stand, restaurant or truck that I have tried in the local area. This is my go to spot for Al Pastor as well, doesn't matter type of food it is in, it is delicious and reminds me every time why I always recommend this place to people I meet. The owners are amazing and super nice and go out of their way to make you feel at home. It might not look like the greatest from the outside, but you absolutely will not regret coming here. Also, the birria tacos are rather large, so if you normally have 2-3 just 1, maybe 2 if you're REALLY hungry, will fill you up. read more

Order grub hub for the first time. Fail. Took over 2 and a half hours to get to me. I seen a Facebook friend recommend the quesobirria tacos so I ordered some and this is what I get!! I didn't even get the dipping sauce. My husband ordered a carnitas burrito. It was dry, the beans were hard, and it was disgusting. He threw it away. I'm not going back for sure. read more

This review is for the tacos and nachos - wow! Carne asada tacos were BLAND and the tortillas didn't hold well together. I asked for "hot sauce" and I get this green sauce that has ZERO heat / kick to it. What?! While I was waiting for my food - I see them microwave a styrofoam box! That's where my nachos went to "melt" or heat up?! Maybe I'll come back for the birria that everyone raves about. If that's their "hot sauce" at this place - what an embarrassment to the man up front stating to me prior to ordering and requesting for hot sauce - "what's a Mexican restaurant without hot sauce?" Everyone at my work has been here. So I was always curious about this taqueria. I finally went today with my husband. I got the three tacos (2 carnitas and 1 pastor) with rice and beans. My husband got the same thing but 2 shredded chicken and one steak. My tacos were really good!!!!!! I actually like the carnitas way more. I seen that they serve grill chicken, ribs and other meals. This place if off the beaten path but it's a little hidden gem for delicious tacos and BBQ. So far I've tried the quesibiria tacos and they are amazing. The quesabirria tacos here have a lot of meat! They're very filling and packed with a lot of flavor. Sometimes it's too oily, but sometimes they get it just right. I ordered mine with extra onion and cilantro with a side of salsa verde. I didn't care for their beans and rice, just the quesabirrias! read more

OVERRATED. My tacos looked nothing like the pictures of other customers birria tacos. Highly disappointed. I played $8+, and got soo much beef pileup and too much cheese. My food was hot when got to work. I was pulling off chuncks of cheese . Didnt care for customer service that much neither. I felt as if I annoyed them because I asked certain questions such as " Does consume come included"? The food wasnt good to me, so I will not be back read more

The ribs were awesome. I grew up in Houston so I like to think I know my ribs. These were good. Anytime I want ribs I am going here. The bbq sauce was good as well. I had my first Queza Birria taco and it was not bad. The sauce or gravy(not sure what it is called) that comes with it definitely set it off. read more

I loooove this spot. The grilled (bbq) meat is sooo good (fresh, simple, flavorful and they don't cheat you on the"full slab"), the marinated grilled chicken is good too. The Mexican food is good, but the customer service is what keeps me coming back! Everything is SUPER affordable. I don't like the rice (not colorful\flavorful enough), guacamole (the taste is ok but I like it more fresh\chunky. It's creamy), and they don't have black beans, but everything else is 100%. read more

Some of the best, juiciest pork ribs I've ever eaten! And the massive super burritos are also to die for. The owner Jesús owns and runs the restaurant with his wife, and they are some of the most welcoming and friendly people I've ever met. My family has known them for years as their taqueria used to be located in Oakland, and we've missed them since they moved their business out to Fairfield. You may often see Jesús barbecuing huge batches of chicken for the day right in the parking lot, and the aroma is always an irresistible magnet for a hungry appetite! Totally recommend this place to anyone who has a palate for delicious authentic Mexican barbecue! read more

Tacos birria, wow! Rice and beans are good too, my wife really likes them and she's always "right"! I just feel every Mexican restaurant should be downgraded If they don't offer black beans IMO but I won't this time. Inside does need an upgrade and degreasing (-star) but kitchen is clean. Staff is mostly all family and wonderful people with great customer service. Highly recommended!! read more

Once I saw how much hot sauce was being added, I simply asked if they could leave it off three of the asada tacos because my mom can't handle spicy food. Instead of just making the small adjustment, the person preparing the tacos--who I'm assuming was the business owner--went and got the person handling payments and orders. She then came over and told me that I should have said something ahead of time and that I was confusing them. I apologized and explained that I had misunderstood what "everything" included and genuinely didn't realize the tacos would come with that much hot sauce already on them. The ordering process itself was also confusing. There weren't clear directions explaining that you had to purchase the tacos in a separate line first and then bring a ticket over to the taco truck. I stood in line outside for about ten minutes in extremely hot weather before realizing I needed to order and pay somewhere else first. It was an honest misunderstanding and a very small request. I wasn't asking them to remake my entire order; I was simply asking them to leave the salsa off three tacos once I realized how they were being prepared. Being spoken to that way in front of a line of people felt unnecessary and embarrassing, especially after I had already apologized and explained the misunderstanding. As a business owner myself, this is what bothered me the most. Misunderstandings happen, especially when the ordering process isn't completely clear. I would never make a paying customer feel uncomfortable over such a minor request when it could have been resolved so easily with a little patience and understanding. What made the interaction even more disappointing was the reason we were there in the first place. This was a special event raising money for a family after my friend's uncle was tragically killed in a hit-and-run. I brought my family specifically to support the fundraiser and contribute to a good cause. Given the circumstances, I would have expected a little more patience and respect toward the people who came out to support the family. The food itself was fine, and I was happy to support the fundraiser, but the way such a simple misunderstanding was handled made the experience unnecessarily uncomfortable. A little kindness and better communication would have gone a long way.

We were able to sit down right away in the bar area so that was nice. Our waiter came over pretty quick to see if we wanted anything to drink. We ordered some waters, a Paloma, and a beer. He came back shortly with chips and salsa and waters. We took a few minutes before we ordered and for our order we ordered the Birria tacos that came with beans and rice and the enchilada and Tamale with beans and rice. The chips were fresh and the salsa was really delicious. It was just enough spice in it and the flavor was great. Our entrees came out shortly which was pretty fast. The Birria tacos were fresh and hot, the flavor was great, and the dipping sauce completed the tacos. The Tamale and Enchilada was also delicious. The Chicken inside the enchilada was tender and tasty, the tamale was also fresh, tender, and cooked perfect. The highlight of the meal even with everything tasting great already were the beans. The beans had so much flavor to them, and cooked perfect. I don't know what they put in the beans or how they make them but, they are the best refried beans I've ever had. Our waiter was really good, I didn't get his name but kudos to him as well. The place is really big inside and has outside seating, with a bar area as well. I asked to add jalapeños- they said that would cost an extra $2. That is crazy. I know food prices are rising but jalapeños are still inexpensive - I've eaten at hundreds of Mexican places - not one ( except Taco Hell - Bell- ) has charged me for jalapeños. So after taking my order he told me to come back in 15 minutes - like standing there and waiting was going to cost them money - how rude. Another bad 1st - being told I can't stay and wait for my order at a place I ordered from - WTF? Also the prices are too high - I can get burritos in San Francisco for $12 and they're great - as I did yesterday at a street fare - I thought $7.95 was too cheep for a burrito - but $18 in a small town? The burrito better be best tasting ever - writing this while I sit in my car. When I walked in the restaurant it was quiet - Saturday at 8:20 pm in the summer - was dead and it still takes them 15 to twenty minutes to make a burrito? That is crazy. So the ambience did not impress me that's for sure. What could improve? How about treating your customers who come into a place for the first time nice and not ask them to come back? How about not charging for jalapeños when every. other Real ( Taco Bell in NOT Mexican food) Mexican restaurant does not charge for them??? Update - the young man who took my order seemed like he did NOT want to be there - and was not attentive. When I picked up my order there were two women who were friendly and nice to me - so I added a star. The burrito itself - the beef had a excellent taste and the refried beans were good ( yes - I have had bad refried beans before ) so the burrito tasted good but on the bland side as no salsa was inside the burrito. Etc when the first guy took my order and told me jalapeños were an extra $2 I said no to the extra but did request extra salsa - all I got was a small - very small container - I like my Mexican food spicy - and this was not - tho had the potential to be great with some heat - spice - the salsa/ more of a sauce than salsa - had an excellent flavor but no the mild side for me but if had a lot of it - it would have worked as it did have a good to excellent flavor - so it gets only two stars - had excellent potential to be great - but initial bad service from the male staff and charging for jalapeños and very little salsa killed it - can not recommend
