I stopped after work and got Al Pastor and a chicken fajita taco, both on corn. This place doesn't really seem open all the time.... I'm always around, and I never see it open that often. I loved both tacos, but the chicken fajita blew me away. The Al Pastore wasn't the best I've ever had, but it sure hit the spot. A guy next to me told me that the hot sauce was super spicy, but it still had really good flavor. I barely put any on, man that stuff kicks! If you're into spicy food definitely try it! read more

Taqueria La Esperanza is a small food booth/ trailer found behind La Moreliana Meat Market with a parking. This place is open until 3 am and is CASH ONLY. On a rainy Wednesday night, around 11:40 pm, my husband and I decided to check out this little eatery since it is just down the street from our vacation rental that we were staying at during our Austin vacation. We ended up ordering: Chicken Taco, $2.50, tax included- Generous amount of tender and juicy chicken with minced onions, cilantro and shredded cheese. A really filling taco, that can be easily made into a second, which is what I did since this taco is made with 2 corn tortillas. Barbacoa Burrito, $6, tax included- Barbacoa beef, so tender and flavorful. This burrito is a pretty large size, enough to feed 2 people. This burrito has plenty of generous portions of beef, shredded lettuce, onions and shredded cheese, all wrapped in a large flour tortilla. ------------------ (Total= $8.50, tax included) Our food was made fresh to order, but with a short wait time. Although there is picnic style bench tables, with a covering, we took our order back to our vacation rental (the benches were wet from all the rain Austin was having that day). Taqueria La Esperanza has a pretty small and simple menu but the food was delicious. Wished I lived closer so that I could try all their food offerings. read more

We stopped here on our self-guided taco tour of Austin. We tried the carnitas and el pastor. Both were average. Not wonderful but not bad. The verde sauce was extremely spicy so definitely try it before using! Service was very friendly and quick. If you're looking for a quick average taco in Austin, this is your spot! read more

As a vegetarian, I didn't have any options beyond a bean and cheese taco - they refused to add any veggies/fajitas to it. It had too much onion and made the taco quite sharp. Then they gave us salsa, without a warning, with way too much chili. All in all, not one I can recommend to a vegetarian - I know I'm not their target audience anyway. read more

This is a hidden gem, I have been coming here for years! (10+!) their fajita ranchera tacos are big and generous, lots of meat lettuce cheese and not to mention the flavor. They are delicious! Their salsa verde is da bomb if you are on the spicy side. I have been here drunk, sober and everything else in between and their tacos never disappoint! It looks like they are moving behind la moreliana meat market just down the road about a block or so soon, but I will sure follow for as long as I live in Austin. These guys need to open a restaurant! They are open until 3:00am which is always a good thing. If you have not tried it, then do yourself a favor and go! read more

Been here a million times and thy have the best carne guisada I have ever had. Also, the spicy avocado sauce they have in these giant containers are absolutely to die for. So flavorful and so spicy. When you're done eating, your lips will carry the fire for some time haha! Other than that, they have your standard burritos, tortas, tacos and such. Pastor, barbacoa, chicken, et al are all equally great, but the guisada is absolutely the move. Not open early in the week or I'd come here every day! Best truck in the city for Mexican read more

A friend told me to come here from his great personal experience with this establishment. So, we went tonight and it did not disappoint! I've had many many tacos from all over Austin and Miami and this is BY FAR #TheBestTacos in all of the land! I ordered a gordita with fajita meat + everything and a pastor taco w/ everything. The gordita was AMAZING! The shell was perfectly cooked, a heaping pile of meat, cheese, lettuce, cilantro, beans, onions and their famous "green sauce". The pastor taco came with pastor meat, cilantro, onions, lettuce, cheese and the green YUM. The pastor meat was super delicious! I used one of the two green spicy sauces they gave me. It was extremely spicy, but not TOO spicy so you hiccup... Oh, and the price was awesome! $10 for an authentic gordita and taco; including tip.. Ordered a pork quesadilla and they literally put 90% FAT -- and 10% meat. There were slivers of pork but mostly fat. I didn't notice until after eating once slice of my quesadilla and then I wondered if it was the cheese, when I opened up the quesadilla I was so disgusted, I threw up on the spot. So disappointing. Also, my boyfriend and I were in line waiting (after paying) and there was a guy who pulled out a gun to scare off another customer about a racist debate. It just could have gotten bad, you know? I do not know why this place didn't have a yelp page created already, but here it is now! This taco truck is AMAZING!! It is in front of the beer barn and open late. So perfect for those drunken nights when you are craving tacos, which I find myself doing way too often these days. The beef fajita taco=amazing. The chicken taco=delicious. The bean and cheese taco=yummmmmy!! The rest I haven't tried because I can't not order these, but friends of mine also rave about this place! They also have MASSIVE burritos FILLED with goodness....for like $4.50. WTF?! So cheap! Okay, I work 12pm - 12 am sat & sun. No biggie, but 12hr take some getting use too. But due to working in an environment I enjoy, I am now adjusted, even at 60+, and find myself energized. Just a little background that thinking about these tacos and that delicious spicy jalapeño, slighty creamy sauce, gets me through those 12 hrs. It is 1:30 am and I just woofed down 3 chix tacos, after 12 hrs of not wanting any other food, but my tacos. And I brought food to work (grilled salmon pasta salad made with a fresh garlic, white balsamic dressing made that am before work, and did not touch. Great lunch for tomorrow. This food truck is the Bomb! Regardless, but hope it remain low key, so the food remain DELICIOUS. Off to bed, after watching TV recordings, as I smack my lips in total taco satification. read more

I've found my new favorite taco stand! Being right across the street from my apartment, I've been meaning to come here for weeks and had just forgotten, but I finally did and...wow! I got the Carne Guisada and Al Carbon tacos on flour (I know...don't judge me!) and they were so tasty and full of flavor. Not only that, but each taco was only $2.50 and were pretty big, so I was full for $5, which is impressive! I'll definitely be back at least twice a week. read more

Awesome little taco truck. It's a one man operation, that's open from 3:00 PM till late at night. I've had both the tacos and the burritos here, and both are amazing. No type of meat will steer you wrong, but I'd recommend al pastor, or barbacoa. The tacos are nice tacos, either flour or corn tortillas, with meat, lettuce, tomato, onion, and cheese. They're decent sized for around $2.50; 2 should fill you up, 3 max. The burritos are where this place really shines. for $5.50, you get a massive burrito (larger than chipotle, for reference), with almost a pound of meat, beans, lettuce, tomato, and onions. Another shining star of Taqueria La Esperanza is the salsa. It's closest relative is dona salsa at taco deli, but less spicy. Overall, a great, simple trailer for authentic Mexican street food. read more

This place is really good, i was normally used to cali mex which has a different sort of taste than tex mex but this is one food truck i enjoyed more than others in texas. They are VERY generous with there meat portions. Overall a good burrito. read more
