I have to say that I don't really go to taquerias that much these days. Unless someone wants to educate me, I really don't think there are that many quality taquerias here in Mountain View (where I live) and there are enough taco food trucks such that I don't have to go outside the city in order to get a decent taco. Additionally, if I want to get a specialty dish such as enchiladas, I always prefer getting them at a sit down restaurant. I heard about this place as there was a $5 off coupon on the back of my receipt when I was shopping at the nearby Safeway. One day I decided to check this place out and use said coupon (Please note that this place is different than the 3 Hermanos Grill in San Jose and from what I can tell, they are not related to one another). I got the green enchiladas, the pozole (only available on weekends) and a taco (to get my total high enough to get the discount lol). I love pozole and can't even remember the last time I had it. Again, unless someone wants to let me know otherwise, I don't think any Mexican restaurant in the nearby area serves pozole. Theirs was absolutely delicious. I was also pleasantly surprised by the tastiness of the enchiladas, especially being from a taqueria. The rice and beans on the side were also great. I chatted with the lady at the cash register and it seems like they have recently changed management. This news, in all honesty, made a little bit of sense as the food looked nothing like the pictures on their yelp page. I really came to this place expecting mediocre food and was so surprised by how great everything tasted. The meal was also pretty cheap even without the coupon. The lady let me know that they will soon be introducing Salvadorean dishes to the menu and I will definitely be back to try them! read more

The food here is okay at best. My husband ordered the steak ranchero and I ordered an al pastor taco and a chicken taco. The steak was okay, pretty bland and the rice was not hot when it was served. The al pastor taco was okay, but again bland. The chicken had a really off texture. The service was alright, the person taking our order kept pausing to speak with someone in the kitchen. Maria serves up delicious Ranchero breakfast which has eggs and red sauce in a crispy dish shaped chip. Flavor was balanced and hot with fresh crispness. I'm stuffed and loved every bite. We were the only people there when we arrived on a Friday night, and it took a while for the staff to notice when we were ready to order because they were occupied fulfilling take out orders. I'm giving the place 3 stars for the cheap price but okay enough Tacos and I did mot have any major problem when I went there. Last Saturday I decided to try some Tacos from this place. It is next to our family dentist's office but I never really went there in the last 5 years I've been going at the area, primarily because it looks like a liquor store outside, with all the neon signs on their door. If I don't look up on the signage outside, I would probably miss it's a resto. Silly me. When I walked in, it is dim, and it looks like an old diner. The chairs and tables were up and pushed to the sides because of the pandemic. I only ordered 3 pieces of the plain Al Pastor because it was only 10 in the morning. I think it costs $2 or $2.25 a piece. I was charged $8.61 including the bottle of water. The price for the regular Taco was not on the menu. The other items have prices though. It's a simple Taco. Definitely better than Taco Bell. Haha. But nothing extraordinary. The meat could use a bit char. The Tortilla is also smaller than the other ones I've tried. But I think for $2, it's okay. The taste was okay enough for me. They open at 8am, and I've seen people walking in and out with large orders. I wish I tried their Tamales because I've been becoming a fan of the food, just to compare with the ones I've tried. The staff were wearing masks. Both of them were talking to me in Spanish, but they got my orders right and efficiently. The wait was fast. Not sure if I'll go inside again after my next dental appointment. We'll see. read more

I am honestly very disappointed in this place on so many levels, especially because I live nearby and would be nice to have this as a go-to spot. I just ordered here today and had to write this. Starting with the food, I ordered a super burrito and got what looks like a bean and cheese burrito. There was hardly any meat in there and mostly rice and certainly no guacamole, sour cream, or salsa in there. From the meat I could taste, it certainly didn't seem to be al pastor and instead looks more like barbacoa--not sweetness at all and pretty salty. I had asked what type of beans were in the burrito and was told pinto beans but not of what I ate were solid beans and looked more like refried beans instead. Now, onto the service. I had taken the order togo and asked for some extra salsa and was told that it was already included, only to find one packet of it for 3 separate dishes. If it costs extra, just say so. To the lady at the register, you're racist. There was an African American gentleman that was behind me in line. He had kindly asked if he could use the restroom and she quipped back with 'its only for customers'. I didn't see his face but he proceeded to step out of line and go to the bathroom but had stopped near the register to confirm he could go. She told him that 'the restroom is for customers, but go ahead'. She looked at me as if I understood what she meant and smiled. Why, because he is a black man? That automatically means that he doesn't belong? He was dressed for work, had a work badge and otherwise didn't look like he was freeloading or trying to. I give this place 5 stars for their menudo alone. The flavor is just right. Not too weak and not overwhelming white the spice. The tripe is prepped perfectly I think. Do not eat here. I got the chicken tacos last Monday and I'm still dealing with food poisoning symptoms a week later. Avoid avoid avoid.

Came by here around 11:35am this morning just in time to beat the lunch crowd. I wanted to try their regular burrito as the super usually is a plate meal wrapped in double tortillas- something I'd rather prefer eating on a plate with a fork. I opted for a regular burrito with choice of carnitas meat. The burrito was pretty large for $5.95 and cheapest that I've found for this size (see pictures). It included rice, refried beans and of course the meat. The flavor didn't have that lardy flavor, but more of a pozole flavor consistency partly because it also was spiced up, which was not indicated so don't be surprised when you bite into it. Usually burrito's are spiced up on your own or if they ask you, but seems to be the normal recipe. The bottom of the burrito where the large concentration of the meat was located was salty and I'm not sure if it was added while being wrapped together. To me, the salt wasn't properly mixed with the meat. You have a 50/50 chance of biting off the end with meat or rice, but you can probably tell if it feels softer than the other end. I also bought a #3 (3 tacos special) for my son. I'll take his opinion once he tries it out. He's more of a taco person than any other meal. The restaurant is quite spacious and is located in a strip mall. Parking is spacious and there is also a mexican market across the parking lot if you decide to splurge on mexican-related grocery items. They also serve food there which is OK as well. The cashier was a nice guy and there was no longer a written paper sign on the cash register for an upcharge for using your ATM/Credit Card. (Then again I didn't check my receipt out clearly.) I still need to try the other dishes on the menu- perhaps I will up my review if I find those selections satisfying. read more

I really wanted to like this place. Looks like a family run kind of place. But it ended up just being sad. The decor needs updating but most of all the food left a lot to be desired. I ordered 3 Al Pastor Tacos, 3 Carne Asada tacos and coctel (shrimp cocktail). I asked for extra grilled Serranos as well. The carne asada was not seasoned very well basically grilled beef. While the texture was decent there was not much flavor. The al pastor was okay, visually appealing but still under seasoned. I did not get any Serranos at all even when I asked for extra and was charged for it. The coctel (shrimp cocktail) was not good at all. It was under seasoned or not seasoned at all, the sauce had no flavor, the shrimp was very chewy. Salsa was mediocre and not very spicy. The service was good as I was picking up a last minute and was 20 minutes before closing. I asked if it was okay to order to go and was given the okay which was very nice. I was craving some Mexican food on my walk home from Caltrain and have always passed by this sign in the little shopping plaza on Moffett. The pictures on the wall made it seem like they had a lot of food choices. I came in to get a CARNE ASADA SUPER BURRITO to go. Burrito felt hefty as I lifted the bag. They gave me a side of spicy red salsa sauce to go as well. When I got home and started eating the burrito, I was sadly disappointed. I guess I should have checked to see what made up a "super" burrito...but there was no beans, guac, salsa, or sour cream in it! It was basically just a really big burrito stuffed with meat, rice, and cheese. Meat quality was just OK. I was not impressed with the rice as it had little crunch bits it it like the rice had been left out too long. The burrito was too dry and carb heavy. Lesson learned -- I'm sticking with La Fiesta for good Mexican food in Mountain View! Or will finally go try out Los Portales sometime. First of all, the people here are really friendly. This was my first time here so I was taking a bit of time checking out the options. They were totally supportive and helpful. The carne asada was really tender. You don't often find good steak at most taquerias so I was a bit apprehesive. However, they totall surprised me. The meat was not tough or overcooked. It was just right and very tender. The free chips was nice and they were actually good chips. I read that some people complained about the burritos. Personally, I don't usually order burritos when I go to a new place as I'd like to see my food. Therefore, tacos was the perfect item for me to try at any new Mexican place. Besides, this one really felt more like a taqueria so ordering tacos seems natural here. The salsa was good. Mine was a bit spicy but that's okay. I rather have salsa on the spicy side than on the bland side. After all, a bland salsa is pretty pointless, in my opinion. read more

The food is really good but the biggest selling point are the salsa's. Usually mexican places have multiple salsa choices but only 1 suites your palate. But this place had 3 salsa's - red, green chili verde and the green sauce on the burrito and all were flavorful, had their own unique taste and most of all gelled with and complimented the dish in different ways. The rice & beans are also really nice, soft and have a good taste, and as a bonus the staff is really nice & friendly. I am not the pickiest when it comes to taquerias..... usually a burrito is a taco is a sopa is a torta, ya just can't go wrong when it comes to Mexican food! Except tamales and chile verde (I "grew up" on very traditional recipes and not many compare.) Tonight, after 1.5 years of coming here, I realized they have tamales. I took a shot and ordered 3 carnitas ones. Once I got home and took a look, I felt really positive about my decision. The masa to meat portions are perfect! They're long and rectangular as should be and wrapped to easily open them. The meat is flavored wonderfully and the masa's texture is perfect and flavor are perfect! Add a little of their red hot sauce, and your taste buds are deep in Mexico.... All in all, this is a solid taqueria. If you happened to hit them on an off day, give 'em another try! read more

My friends and I were on the hunt for a late dinner coming from the gym Planet Granite nearby. We simply decided to stop at Taqueria 3 Hermanos en route to home. I wasn't too hungry so got one fish taco and one lengua taco, totaling about $7-8 total including tax and tip. I wholeheartedly enjoyed my food. The fish taco features fried fish; not sure if there is an option for grilled. The tacos come with double tortillas. They have complimentary chips and salsa, which is always a huge plus. The restaurant including bathroom does not seem like the cleanest ever, but I would happily stop by again for a casual Mexican meal. read more

Growing up in Las Vegas and living in LA for 7 years, I've got a pretty solid handle on what good Mexican food is, specifically good burritos. This is definitely the best burrito place in Mountain View and likely the surrounding area. (Yes I've had La Bamba and La Costenia). They always come out hot and fresh and the red salsa is spicy and delicious. (The salsa verde is also good for those who like mild) I've also ordered the dozen tamales and they are as authentic as they get. I got twelve and my girlfriend and I finished them in two days. We came in here asking for directions because we were lost in Mountain View trying to get back home without a GPS system. Despite the many other eateries there are in the town of Mountain View, we decided to come here. Why? It's a taqueria. There are no standards when it comes to walking attire. Honestly, walk around most of downtown Mountain View, and you'll immediately feel like everybody is better than you with their luxury cars double parked in front of what looks to be classy sit-in restaurants. On top of that, we were unemployed, and taquerias usually add some oomf to your buck. On the quest to find the best burrito, this place definitely didn't have it, but they definitely have awesome customer service. The cashier was awfully friendly and he explained in detail what the burritos had, though it was hard to understand him. My friend really enjoyed the horchata, but I don't care for them so much. I love tres hermanos! They've been around for a long time and I've been a patron since 2011. Their pastor super burrito is terrific; I'm also a fan of their tortas and sopes. Had their menudo once and it was super good too. For reference I also eat at a lot of the other local joints (e.g Rincon Sabroso, Los Portales, Vive Sol) and I think they are great too, but tres hermanos is as good as they come. Their waits are a lot shorter than Rincon Sabroso for example and it isn't because they have less business or pay less attention to the delicious eats :) they just have a really excellent, fast and attentive staff! My wife and I both generally gravitate toward their burritos. They also have soccer playing a lot of the time which is fun if you're a fan. I noticed other reviews criticize their burrito content vs others, all I have to say is that everyone has their own opinion about what tastes best in a burrito (or how big they want it to be, etc etc). E.g some people don't want rice in their burrito. I'm pretty happy with the contents of the super burrito here. It's not as large as some burritos nearby, but it's the right amount of food for me (and I'm a 200lbs dude). read more
