    Oyster Bar Mix

I came here with my friends to get some oysters. Additionally, we also got clam chowder soup and seafood stew to share. We got 3 different types of oysters. They were all fresh and yummy. They had their own take on clam chowder soup. They left the shells on for presentation. It was good but not mind blowing. The seafood stew was a bit better. However, the flavor didn't come through. I wished they would add more tomatoes to have umami taste to it. Overall, the food were average.

Came here for lunch. I was craving oysters and mind you I've had fresh oysters only twice in my life ever so this isn't normal for me. But the craving was there. Drink: White wine blend - delicious. Crisp and refreshing Oysters 1. Got the mix of 6: absolutely delicious! All of them! 4 different types 2. Grilled oysters: roasted jalapeño butter. Was only good with the cilantro liquid used for the fresh oysters. Chipotle bourbon -- tasty. Overall these were okay but like I said, I was craving FRESH oysters so this didn't hit like it should have 3. Side of bread -- okay... Sat outside. Covered. Pet friendly (outdoors). Will defo be back

Small bite hogs island that just do the work when you want a small bites after consuming some wines Place is cool, inside the Oxnard market Clam chowder could be more Smokey and missing the thickness but is still good filled with lots of clams. Oysters are fresh and shishito is simple but very delicious as sell as the steamer clams. The sausages did it.

The restaurant is located inside an indoor market, with a small bar seating area, a few indoor tables, and some outdoor seating as well. Our server was very friendly, and the food was fresh and flavorful. The only downside was that the creamy soup was a bit too thin. Other than that, we were very satisfied with the experience.

Hog Island Oyster Co. never disappoints! I stopped in craving fresh oysters, and it delivered on every level. This location inside Oxbow Public Market is a perfect spot to grab a seat, relax, and enjoy some incredible seafood. We ordered a dozen Chelsea Gems, and they were outstanding -- clean, briny, and perfectly shucked. You can really taste the difference when they're this fresh. The Chelsea Gems had a beautiful balance of ocean salinity with a slightly sweet finish that kept us going back for the next one. I also had one of the most unbelievable Bloody Marys I've had in a long time. It was topped with Hog Island's famous Hog Wash -- that bright, vinegary mignonette with shallots and cilantro -- which added an amazing punch of flavor to the drink. It was a perfect match with the oysters. The vibe is classic waterfront energy -- lively but relaxed. It's the kind of place where you can take your time, lean into the experience and just enjoy good food done right. Service was friendly and efficient, even when busy. If you love oysters -- or think you might -- this is a must-stop. Fresh, simple, and consistently excellent.

The oysters at hog island are great! This location is in the oxbow market, and a great spot to enjoy some oysters. I particularly enjoy their grilled oysters. The miso nori was especially buttery and rich. They have indoor and outdoor seating plus bar seating. Our waitress was nice.

Stopped in for a few oysters and a glass of champagne mid day this past weekend and was so happy I did. The space was well decorated, clean, and lively with all the people walking about the shops nearby. We got two seats and the bar and were quickly greeted by our server who was very friendly. We quickly received our drinks and oysters which were fresh and delicious.

Yesterday, went to Hog island restaurant in Napa, around 5:30pm. 1) Decor is nice, outside seating is very good. 2) got seat down very quick, no line. 3) Employees are super friendly and nice and efficient. 4) ordered 1 dozen of mix raw oysters, very good. 5) Ordered Acme Bread and butter, and also Fieldwork's Beer. Very relaxing and nice experience, and food arrived very fast. That is just my snacking. Next time, will plan to eat dinner there. Highly recommended

We went for Happy Hour and sat at the bar. It's fun to watch them shuck the oysters. They make it look so easy. The clam chowder is so legit! There's no shortage of clams in it and it's delicious. Ur server timed our dishes perfectly and checked in on us. They're adding more bar area next door within the building where the cheese and wine store used to be. If you love seafood, you can't go wrong with anything here. Their grilled cheese sandwich is also incredible.

My family and I stopped by Hog Island Oyster Co. after already grabbing a bite at Oxbow Marketplace, but we still needed to satisfy our oyster and clam chowder cravings--and this was the perfect place to do it. We were sat outdoors, but the heaters kept us toasty. We also didn't have to wait long before we were seated. I ordered the mixed raw oysters, which included Sweetwater, Highwater, and West Passage oysters. I love raw seafood, and these absolutely hit the spot. Trying all three helped me realize that Sweetwater oysters are my personal favorite, which made the experience even more fun. Everything was fresh and delicious, and I always appreciate learning more about my own taste preferences along the way. Our server was wonderful. Since I'm not always sure what I like, I asked which oysters were the biggest. He explained that sizes vary but suggested the mixed option and even said he'd make a note to try to select some of the larger oysters. I'm not sure if that actually happened, but I appreciated the effort--and I'm glad I went with the mix. We also shared a couple bowls of clam chowder and an order of Old Bay fries. The chowder is thinner than the super-thick, bread-bowl-style versions you might get at Fisherman's Wharf, in case that matters to you. I enjoy both styles, and this one was really tasty with great seafood flavor and very fresh clams. I've been to the Hog Island location at the Ferry Building in San Francisco, and the quality here was just as good. I also visited during the time of a salmonella outbreak linked to oysters in multiple states--and I'm happy to report I didn't get sick. Whether that's luck, careful sourcing, or both, it definitely added to my confidence in the quality here. If you're in the area and craving oysters, I'd absolutely recommend this spot.

Great spot in Napa!!! Came here for my cousins wedding and dined here for lunch!!! This spot is located in downtown Napa in the oxbow public market which is a cool atmosphere! Hog island has indoor and outdoor seating (indoor is more limited and outdoor has more space along with heaters) Food we tried: fried shrimp, seafood stew, lobster, Brussels sprouts, and the grilled cheese! The seafood stew was probably the best and our favorite dish.... As this boiling hot tomato broth comes out with shrimp, calamari, tomatoes, scallops and white fish!!! Delicious flavors and the fresh seafood made it a legit dish to order! They also give you bread to dip BUT A TIP: order French fries to dip the fries into the Rich tomato seafood broth! The fried shrimp was delicious, crispy, good size and good batter, but you only get 4 in an order! The Brussels sprouts were very good, tender and flavorful and tasted well with the seafood stew! The LOBSTER was delicious, the full lobster comes out split in half over a bed of crispy fries!!! Awesome combo!!!! Expensive but flavorful and worth it! Overall, great experience and would definitely come back if I visit Napa!

Hog Island Sweetwater oysters were yummy.

Fresh and tasty Sweetwater oysters from Tomales Bay for start. Very friendly and nice people work here. Good view - will back definitely.

Luckily, we had parked downtown and we walked around and stumbled across Scala Osteria. The only option available was dining at the bar so we chose to dine at the bar. After being seated, we were given menus and water; we chose to dine family style and ordered a few entrees to share. The oysters were very good, the best that I've had, one of my favorites. The side order of fries were fresh and crispy and pairs well with the ketchup and cheese sauce, so delicious. The entrees: the halibut (very soft and delicious), the spaghetti with shrimp and clams (big portion and very delicious and fulfilling), and lastly, the lasagna (the meat was very dry, but the lasagna tasted very cheesy. Unfortunately, the lasagna was my least favorite). Overall, the ambiance is very cozy and inviting. I did enjoy my meal with the exception of the lasagna; I would be open to dining here again in the future and trying something new and also trying desert next time. Scala Osteria is a lovely gem in Napa; would definitely recommend to others!

Five stars isn't enough…read more In a world where every restaurant seems to be chasing the latest trend, Cordeiro's reminds us why a classic steakhouse never goes out of style. From the moment we pulled into the beautifully manicured grounds (with plenty of easy parking, a surprisingly underrated luxury in Napa), the evening felt special. We arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation and settled into the stunning bar for a cocktail. The bartender was welcoming and friendly, and the bar itself deserves a moment of appreciation: gorgeous stonework, soft embedded lighting, and some of the most comfortable leather bar stools I've ever had the pleasure of lingering in. Once our friends arrived, we were immediately seated in a lovely corner table in a beautiful dining room. Then the real fun began. Every single thing we ordered was exceptional. Cocktails were expertly crafted. The pork belly and watermelon appetizer was one of those dishes that makes everyone at the table stop talking for a moment. The roasted beet salad was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully presented. And then there was the service. Our team, Jose and Zach, struck that perfect balance between polished professionalism and genuine warmth. Our group tends to be a little cheeky, and they were great sports, engaging with us throughout the evening and making the experience feel personal without ever missing a beat. Fresh rolls appeared, accompanied by enough butter to satisfy even this butter-loving crowd (a detail that should never be underestimated). For entrees, we enjoyed a perfectly cooked filet mignon with savory cheesy potatoes with asparagus and carrots, an outstanding pork chop, a sea bass special, and a swordfish dish with each earning rave reviews around the table. Every plate was beautifully executed. No gimmicks. No unnecessary flourishes. Just incredibly well-prepared food made with care and confidence. What I appreciate most about Cordeiro's is that it knows exactly what it is. This isn't a flashy, see-and-be-seen downtown Napa dining experience with eye-watering prices and culinary gymnastics. It's something far better: a timeless steakhouse delivering exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and an atmosphere that encourages you to settle in, relax, and enjoy the people you're with. As if the evening couldn't get any better, Bashar stopped by our table and spent time chatting with us about the property, its history, and the incredible effort that goes into maintaining the grounds. He was an absolute delight. He even rolled over a beautiful cordial cart and helped us finish the evening with port, salted caramel liqueur, and an another other after-dinner treat that provided the perfect finale. I was dining with three true local Napa folks who had attended various events at Cordeiro's over the years, and it was fun hearing their stories and connections to the place. By the end of the night, all four of us were smiling, already talking about when we'd return. Great food. Great people. Great atmosphere. Cordeiro's isn't trying to be the newest thing in Napa. It's busy being one of the best.

The ambience was genuine French countryside (with a mix of a sports bar inside that didn't really match??), but given everything else was off the charts we didn't mind. The service was 5-star level with their manners, panache, and the knowledge and experience you would only expect at a Michelin-grade chophouse. The food. Spectacular. No words. Presentation was surprisingly impressive even with their side dishes. Their New Zealand Lamb Chops were criminal. Lamb will never be the same after having theirs. It. Was. Perfect. I did not care for any of their side sauces, which were on point, but I just prefer a simpler wine sauce. The wife ordered the Filet Mignon, which was prepared perfectly and was that melt in your mouth tenderness you hope for. Their included sides were asparagus, glazed carrots, AND mashed potatoes which were all fantastic. Appetizer was a jumbo white prawn cocktail which was good (wife birthday choice ;), even though I was eying their Wood Oven Oyster Rockefeller with spinach, bacon, and bearnaise sauce. Next time...sigh. The dessert was so good it was like torture after being so full. Thought I just had the best cheesecake ever that weekend at the Fairmont which was a Pistachio cheesecake with Boscotti crumbles. This blew it away. DARK CHCOLATE OREO CRUSTED WITH A DARK CHEERY COMPOTE. O.M.G. Wife had a banana crème brûlée which was equally amazing. Oh and they forced us to have as many dessert drinks as we liked (her bday came in handy) on a drink cart. (A full bar lol from scotches, sherries, brandies, ports, any style of chocolate liqueur). This will be our new home kitchen away from home. 20/10 rating.

Most of our table ordered steaks, I ordered the long boned pork chop (5/5), with a green peppercorn sauce. The chop was cooked to the right temperature and was clearly brined, as it was moist, tender, and had great char. We order corn, fries, and lobster Mac & Cheese for the table to share. Everyone loved their steaks and we nearly polished off all the sides. My only comment to our super tasty meal is the large baked potato ordered by one of my friends was baked way too long and was overcooked. It had been years since I had dinner last at Cole's. The food and service team are top notch as I remembered. It's definitely still the best steakhouse in Napa. I highly recommend.

3.5 for food. We came for dinner and sat outside. It was nice but chilly at times…read more Our waiter was very considerate and took our picture and gave us a scoop of ice cream to share. We really enjoyed the smoked chicken wings with Alabama sauce. The smokiness of the chicken was so good paired with the tangy sauce. Hubby enjoyed his pork chop. It was a huge cut but he always orders pork chop and never complains unless it's over cooked. I wasn't that hungry and ordered a regular garden salad and was convinced to add an avocado which was ripe but didn't add anything to the salad. I did like the sunflower seeds in the salad. There wasn't anything else on the entree menu that appealed to me. Maybe it would've been better to order a couple of appetizers as my meal. I could have consumed the entire plate if chicken wings by myself. Bathrooms are in the rear, in a separate small building. My biggest disappointment was the cheddar biscuits. It was chewy-like, dense and arrived lukewarm. Likely reheated and the dough was probably overworked. There was no cheddar inside the biscuit but coated on the outside. It came with a few biscuits but after eating one, I couldn't eat anymore because of the texture and chewiness. The honey butter (couldn't taste any honey) didn't help either. I make and try out different cheddar biscuit recipes at home and this would be a recipe I'd toss out.
