    Miso butter grilled oysters
    Zannie H.

The service is kind and they normally checked up on us. We sat outside, I think it's like not a very spectacular view but it's still refreshing outside. I actually like their bowls, pretty cute. The food, ummmm idk the oysters not my favorite, like they're good quality and you can definitely taste the difference between each other. Sweet water is definitely sweet. Best one is kumamoto. The other two were a lot more creamy, but maybe I just don't like oysters? Hot sauce has a lot of flavor (overpowering), I liked the sauce in the middle they provided. Miso butter tasted a lot like butter, normal tasting, Clam chowder is definitely different than the ones I am used to with no sour dough bread and it's not thick either. It's very liquidy and tastes like butter but the clam tastes pretty good. Just average for me.

Service was friendly and the food looks good. Yet the flavors of the tomato based seafood stew was surprisingly really bland. Clam chowder was packed full of clams but I wish the soup was a little more dense. It was super watery. No Kumamoto oyster available today, oh well. Overall, the food looks much better than it tastes.

Absolutely amazing seafood!! We had the fresh oysters, grilled oysters, the fried anchovies, clam chowder, old bay fries, (it's not on menu but they have butter noodles for kids too), acme bread and butter, seafood stew, and the mussels. All fantastic and so fresh. Wonderful service by all of the members of their staff.

I really love this oyster spot in Napa. The oysters are really fresh and the grilled ones are really flavorful especially the garlic butter. It can get busy here so come early and they have options of outdoor seatings and indoor seatings!

Located inside the Ox Bow Market. Outside seating is shaded under a canopy, very comfortable. Grilled oysters and raw oysters are very fresh and delicious tasting. All their oysters are from Tomales Bay or Humboldt County. Service was nice. I definitely recommend these two items, as they are my go to here.

My partner and I are huge fans of Hog Island, and have been loyal patrons for years, across their multiple locations. When we go to Pt. Reyes for a weekend getaway, we plan the trip around our reservation at their flagship location in Marshall. We have also supported their other locations many times, at the SF Ferry Building, Larkspur, and, of course, Napa, which brings me to this review. The Hog Island in Napa is located in the popular and touristy Oxbow Market. Despite this, the times we've been in - most recently last week during our five-day 'weekend' in Napa - we've been seated quickly. They have both indoor dining and a great outdoor patio. This most recent time we opted for the patio to enjoy the beautiful summer day. The Hog Island menu varies by location as well as season. I was extremely pleased with the current offerings on the Napa menu. So much to choose from, and my eyes were getting bigger than my stomach. We opted for some of the essentials - two dozen of the sweetwater raw oysters, some BBQ'ed oysters, and a grilled cheese sandwich. The oysters are always fresh, and though they offer a few different varieties, the sweetwaters from Tomales Bay are my favorite. Everything was delicious as usual. They had a grilled squid salad on the menu, and we saw it on the next table over, which looked amazing. Will definitely try this next time if it's still on the menu. Service was very good, prompt and attentive. They have a good beer and wine selection. Happy hour with discounted oysters begins at 4pm on certain weekdays - call ahead for details. Also make sure to give yourself time to browse the Oxbow Market at this location, there's a lot to take in. Love Hog Island, and always very much look forward to returning.

Nice enjoyable place to meet for lunch with friends. Service ok. Best of flavor clam chowder. Looking forward for fried oyster unfortunately, none today. Nevertheless, a good place to go back to and we always do anytime we're in the area.

The RB card, excepted at fine dining establishments around the world including Hog Island.

We were thinking late breakfast then Andrea brought up oysters and here we are again, sort of, since we were just at the Hog Island location in Marshall less than week ago. We have been here multiple times usually at the counter. Today was outside even in the Napa heat with a nice breeze was totally ok. A couple of dozen Sweetwaters, 6 BBq'd, grilled cheese and refreshments and we are ready to go. Seating was quick as well as service. The grilled cheese is awesome with picked veggies. The only Hog Island locations we have not been to are Petaluma and up in Humboldt area. Petaluma is going to get taken care of soon. Humboldt,, down the road a bit. Also, Tony's in Marshall is owned by Hog Island if you can't get into the "the farm". All great places. Go there.

Came here for lunch. I was craving oysters and mind you I've had fresh oysters only twice in my life ever so this isn't normal for me. But the craving was there. Drink: White wine blend - delicious. Crisp and refreshing Oysters 1. Got the mix of 6: absolutely delicious! All of them! 4 different types 2. Grilled oysters: roasted jalapeño butter. Was only good with the cilantro liquid used for the fresh oysters. Chipotle bourbon -- tasty. Overall these were okay but like I said, I was craving FRESH oysters so this didn't hit like it should have 3. Side of bread -- okay... Sat outside. Covered. Pet friendly (outdoors). Will defo be back

I feel like every time I come to Napa there's always something new. This wasn't the original plan for lunch but we ended up here. Located inside somewhat of a warehouse style with loads of other restaurants and shops. There's even a mini grocery store inside. The place was packed but we manage to get a table on the patio. It was perfect as the day was gorgeous and the patio was covered. Inside was mainly the bar area counter which was packed. Also, it was highly recommended by loads of friends. I've done the one in San Francisco but this location was new to me. Service was great when we got seated. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Menu, seafood and more seafood. We opted out on wine as we've been drinking all day to begin with. Food, it was a mixture of everything. There was a good amount of us so sharing is caring. For starters, the fries with eyes, fried anchovies. You either love them or hate them but these were nice. Fried to a nice crisp, you don't really taste the fishiness of them and with the dipping sauce, it was delicious. Of course you have to have the chowder. It's a bit different from your traditional clam chowder as there's the clams in shell with all the topping. It's good but a bit messy with removing the shells. And the mussels, another favorite. It's like you can't go wrong with steamed mussels in a nice wine broth. So delicious and worth it. Gotta go with the oyster as well. We ended up with the variety of the grilled oysters versus the raw. They were quite tasty and flavorful. I believe it was 4 different style of arrangements and they were all delicious. The grilled squid salad sounded amazing but it was a bit underwhelming. Even the presentation was just a little blah. It was tasty but it could have been a missed. The shrimp po boy was another that was just ok. Not like your roll that I'm used to getting but it was on a burger bun with 4 piece of shrimp. The coleslaw and the pickle veggies that were part of it were tasty. I was expecting something different but it was ok. Lastly the linguine and clams. Decent size bowl but packed with everything. Loads of clams and pasta. Broth was tasty and was a hit. Overall, some dishes were a hit and some were a miss. Of course when you leave, you see dishes that looked amazing and regret not getting. Oh well, give us another reason to come back. Service and meal great.

I came here with my friends to get some oysters. Additionally, we also got clam chowder soup and seafood stew to share. We got 3 different types of oysters. They were all fresh and yummy. They had their own take on clam chowder soup. They left the shells on for presentation. It was good but not mind blowing. The seafood stew was a bit better. However, the flavor didn't come through. I wished they would add more tomatoes to have umami taste to it. Overall, the food were average.

Love coming here in the evenings I've tried the grilled cheese before and loved it and last time I had the seafood cioppino and it was also amazing.

If we visit in July ate the oysters safe to eat? And do you still (or did you ever) serve the fried sardines that we had in San Fran years ago?

Yes. It should be safe year round. But if you are worried call them.

Does the menu change daily? Is the clam chowder available every day?

Changes daily/seasonally. Clam chowder is usually always on the menu though!

Will be in Napa early April, how hard is it to find seating for a group of 8 on a weekend?

We are happy to hear you will be joining us. And I appreciate the feedback of others. They are correct...weekends are busy so best thing to do is have someone from your party…

Question for management: Are there gluten free options for someone with Celiac Autoimmune Disease?

There are many options that do not use any kind of breading. However, if you are concerned about cross-contamination, I would inquire about whether food could be prepared separately for you.

Do we need to make reservations?

No. Step up to the bar

    Can we make reservations?

The Napa location does not accept reservations. We are still first come, first serve, with patio tables only. Bring a sweater! It's getting chilly and we do not have heaters

    Do you take reservations?

Hello Veronica! No reservation needed, we are first come, first served. If the tables are all full when you get here, we will add you to our wait-list and let you wander…

    Is this place dog friendly?

Sorry, Oxbow Public Market has a No pets allowed policy, excluding service animals.

When is Happy Hour these days?

    Happy Hour Tues + Wed 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm :/

    Do they serve cocktails?

    Beer and wine

I ordered a glass of a brut rose, Caesar salad, Oysters on the Half Shell and Linguine with Clams. We had the pleasure of deciding if we wanted oysters from the east or west coast with a brief descriptor of the differences from each source. The pasta was amazing! It was flavorful without the heavy feeling that can be found in some pasta dishes. You could also tell that the clams were fresh.

I loved the open kitchen concept--you get to watch the chefs in action--and even the bathrooms have unique details that make the whole restaurant feel special. Everything we ordered was delicious. The special of the day was shishito peppers with a balsamic glaze, and they were absolutely incredible. Sweet, savory, and perfectly blistered--I could have ordered another plate just for myself. The calamari was another standout. It was light, crispy, and fresh with a delicate batter instead of the heavy coating you often find elsewhere. We also ordered the Pork Chop Milanese, which was a generous portion and easily shareable. It was perfectly cooked, flavorful, and one of my favorite dishes of the meal. The Ravioli al Limone was rich, creamy, and full of bright lemon flavor--definitely a must-order if you love fresh pasta. A few friends at our table have been on an Italian food kick lately and ordered the chicken, and it exceeded everyone's expectations. It was juicy, well-seasoned, and definitely not an afterthought on the menu. And of course, the pizza was a huge hit with the kids. It's always nice when a restaurant can make both the adults and little ones happy. The cocktails were just as impressive as the food--beautifully crafted, refreshing, and every drink we ordered was excellent. We dined with kids, and the staff was incredibly accommodating, seating us in a comfortable corner that made the experience much more relaxing. The service throughout the evening was warm, attentive, and never rushed. Between the inviting atmosphere, fantastic food, great drinks, and thoughtful service, Scala Osteria absolutely earns 5 stars. It's the kind of place you'll want to come back to again and again. Five stars isn't enough…read more In a world where every restaurant seems to be chasing the latest trend, Cordeiro's reminds us why a classic steakhouse never goes out of style. From the moment we pulled into the beautifully manicured grounds (with plenty of easy parking, a surprisingly underrated luxury in Napa), the evening felt special. We arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation and settled into the stunning bar for a cocktail. The bartender was welcoming and friendly, and the bar itself deserves a moment of appreciation: gorgeous stonework, soft embedded lighting, and some of the most comfortable leather bar stools I've ever had the pleasure of lingering in. Once our friends arrived, we were immediately seated in a lovely corner table in a beautiful dining room. Then the real fun began. Every single thing we ordered was exceptional. Cocktails were expertly crafted. The pork belly and watermelon appetizer was one of those dishes that makes everyone at the table stop talking for a moment. The roasted beet salad was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully presented. And then there was the service. Our team, Jose and Zach, struck that perfect balance between polished professionalism and genuine warmth. Our group tends to be a little cheeky, and they were great sports, engaging with us throughout the evening and making the experience feel personal without ever missing a beat. Fresh rolls appeared, accompanied by enough butter to satisfy even this butter-loving crowd (a detail that should never be underestimated). For entrees, we enjoyed a perfectly cooked filet mignon with savory cheesy potatoes with asparagus and carrots, an outstanding pork chop, a sea bass special, and a swordfish dish with each earning rave reviews around the table. Every plate was beautifully executed. No gimmicks. No unnecessary flourishes. Just incredibly well-prepared food made with care and confidence. What I appreciate most about Cordeiro's is that it knows exactly what it is. This isn't a flashy, see-and-be-seen downtown Napa dining experience with eye-watering prices and culinary gymnastics. It's something far better: a timeless steakhouse delivering exceptional food, genuine hospitality, and an atmosphere that encourages you to settle in, relax, and enjoy the people you're with. As if the evening couldn't get any better, Bashar stopped by our table and spent time chatting with us about the property, its history, and the incredible effort that goes into maintaining the grounds. He was an absolute delight. He even rolled over a beautiful cordial cart and helped us finish the evening with port, salted caramel liqueur, and an another other after-dinner treat that provided the perfect finale. I was dining with three true local Napa folks who had attended various events at Cordeiro's over the years, and it was fun hearing their stories and connections to the place. By the end of the night, all four of us were smiling, already talking about when we'd return. Great food. Great people. Great atmosphere. Cordeiro's isn't trying to be the newest thing in Napa. It's busy being one of the best.

The ambience was genuine French countryside (with a mix of a sports bar inside that didn't really match??), but given everything else was off the charts we didn't mind. The service was 5-star level with their manners, panache, and the knowledge and experience you would only expect at a Michelin-grade chophouse. The food. Spectacular. No words. Presentation was surprisingly impressive even with their side dishes. Their New Zealand Lamb Chops were criminal. Lamb will never be the same after having theirs. It. Was. Perfect. I did not care for any of their side sauces, which were on point, but I just prefer a simpler wine sauce. The wife ordered the Filet Mignon, which was prepared perfectly and was that melt in your mouth tenderness you hope for. Their included sides were asparagus, glazed carrots, AND mashed potatoes which were all fantastic. Appetizer was a jumbo white prawn cocktail which was good (wife birthday choice ;), even though I was eying their Wood Oven Oyster Rockefeller with spinach, bacon, and bearnaise sauce. Next time...sigh. The dessert was so good it was like torture after being so full. Thought I just had the best cheesecake ever that weekend at the Fairmont which was a Pistachio cheesecake with Boscotti crumbles. This blew it away. DARK CHCOLATE OREO CRUSTED WITH A DARK CHEERY COMPOTE. O.M.G. Wife had a banana crème brûlée which was equally amazing. Oh and they forced us to have as many dessert drinks as we liked (her bday came in handy) on a drink cart. (A full bar lol from scotches, sherries, brandies, ports, any style of chocolate liqueur). This place is larger than it looks, which lends to the noice level. We had a reservation and were sat on the third floor, where it feels like they stick customer overflow. It was very loud and had to have a conversation. The service was good, fast. We shared the burrata cheese and tomatoes with toasted bread and the linguine frutti di mare which were both tasty. All in all not bad. I walked by an old safe that you can reserve to eat in which looks really fun.

It makes you want to come back. Now to the food I have eaten lobster Mac and cheese at several restaurants but NONE compare to this. This was by far the absolute best lobster Mac and cheese I've ever had. The lobster is seasoned, they used three different cheeses, and it had the right amount of crunch around the edges of the Mac and cheese. My steak was pretty good as well but the lobster Mac and cheese stole the show. Let me also mention that the whiskey bread pudding was an excellent choice for dessert. I had a scoop of ice cream on top of the bread pudding which was certainly the right choice.

For cocktails my mom ordered a new Mom and drop martini and I ordered a 12 mile reset. We both got the steak. I got the mushrooms and my mom got the potatoes. For her being her 65th birthday this was absolutely amazing and I'm so glad the Cole's chophouse could accommodate so quickly. She had an unbelievable birthday and I greatly appreciate everyone in the staff and hostess. The ambience of Cole chophouse is an upscale laid-back steakhouse with surf and turf options. I highly recommend coming here. Our servers name is- Brian and he was absolutely phenomenal in serving and attending to our table at everything we needed and wanted for our evening. He is the epitome of fantastic service and fantastic ambience. 10/10
