BEST PASTOR in the SGV!…read more I get mine in a burrito with cheese and tons of fresh cucumber. Their pastor is juicy and tender. The cucumber has a slightly spicy glaze on it, making it both refreshing and fiery. This taco stand tends to move around. So our group of ten headed out and parked by the strip mall where Skechers is. Everyone didn't waste time in ordering. Most people in the group had tacos while I had burrito. Service was really fast. With the tacos, you put garnishing after they hand you the plate. With the burrito, they let you put the garnishing first before they wrap it. It ended up so big that I asked them to cut it in half. We also ordered some drinks which are either soda, water or frescas. I had the horchata which was very good but too sweet but there's nothing an additional ice can't fix. We ended up all full and satisfied. Everything was great. I could have easily given them five stars but we were overcharged. The next day my friend went and inquired about it. Although they acknowledged the mistake and gave a refund, I would suggest checking your bill before paying.

Everything is always fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with a lot of care. The citrus chicken is hands down my favorite--super juicy with the perfect balance of tangy and savory. And the cilantro lime sauce? Absolutely amazing. It ties everything together and adds such a fresh, bright kick to the tacos. On top of the food, the service is always friendly, professional, and easy to work with. You can really tell there's passion behind what they do. Highly recommend El Chilote if you're looking for catering that people will actually rave about. I'll definitely be ordering again!

Food: As a vegetarian, I cannot give my own opinions but I will relay the opinions of my mother. The options are all good and very flavorful. Nothing was dry. Still juicy and delicious! The Lengua/Beef tongue and Cabeza/Beef head is her favorite. Lo and behold, thanks to Christina the business exists on here and has been christened "Jiang Xiang Bing Guy"! Although he was working solo that day, when I decided to return on an empty stomach, he had an assistant helping with seasoning and chopping up the 酱香饼. There were about five folks waiting by the time I got there Sunday evening. The guy with the blue UCLA hoodie was purposefully putting on a show, since he had two phones set up for streaming. Every now and again, when he gets a request from someone, he would say "OK no problem!" and continues with kneading, rolling, and transferring the dough to the big ol' frying machine. At $10 per order, perhaps a part of the cost is the spirited mini-interactions. After paying via Venmo, I showed the gal my phone. 他是老板 she said jokingly as she handed me the food. I had mine mild, and honestly it was a delightfully crispy and savory snack for a cold winter evening.

Intrigued and a lover of street foods, I went last night to check it out hoping he was at the same spot and he was! (Honestly San Gabriel Superstore parking lot be popping with bomb street food stalls and trucks over these past years). The guy was calling his food a Chinese pizza but it's actually a Chinese street food called Jiang Xiang Bing(酱香饼) which basically means "saucy pancake". If you can't speak Chinese(don't worry he does understand English though but he spoke to me in Mandarin by default lol), just give him $10 and he will give you a portion. If you don't have cash, he has QR codes for digital payments and once it goes through you can hear his phone notification from his car. When he's done making the bread and ready to chop it, he will ask you how spicy you want it. You can say "xiao la" for mild or say yes and nod your head for the regular spicy lol. The pan fried flat bread was crispy and the sweet and spicy soy bean sauce really went well with it, I'd get it again!!!

I finally got the chance to stop by this place and let me tell you.. it's pretty hard to beat. I have a go to taco stand in my area and this place definitely gives it a run for its money. I am a taco lover and a spice lover as well - so those two combined always make me dance. To start, I ordered the cabeza (head meat) and asada tacos (5 total tacos) and a horchata. The protein is fantastic - I mean the cabeza was perfect and cut in larger chunks which I enjoyed more so I could chew it and experience the texture. The asada was cooked and seasoned perfectly and was NOT dry!! Awesome delightful food! Not to mention they use 1 corn tortilla per taco which is great for those looking to cut carbs. The horchata was perfect as it was not too sweet and had the perfect cinnamon balance! They also offered PINA and occasionally Champurrado. The salsa is great with avocado salsa, mild, and hot. Great flavor here! They also have all toppings you would normally expect at a taco stand with grilled Serano peppers! So fire for those looking for extra spice! The service is quick and the staff is friendly! They use a ticket system so you can order quickly and pack salsa, cucumbers, onion, and radish to be ready when your order is called. I will say it's a little more on the pricey side as 5 tacos and a horchata was $19. My friend got 6 tacos and a horchata and his was $22 - making each taco $3. So if you want cheaper tacos - look elsewhere My friend also tried lengua and al pastor which were both good - but not as good as the cabeza or asada. Would recommend if you're in the area, and I will be back!

I recently visited Fonda Don Chon Mexican Buffet and unfortunately left feeling very disappointed,…read moreespecially regarding their policy for young children. The service was just okay, but what really bothered me was being charged $17 for my daughter, who is only 2 years old. She barely ate anything, just about two pieces of watermelon and a small bite of concha bread. For that amount of food, I found the $17 charge completely unreasonable. When I questioned the charge, the waiter explained that because the food was put on her plate rather than being fed to her directly by us, they considered her to have eaten from the buffet and charged the full $17. He also mentioned that management is watching the cameras to determine whether children are eating from the buffet. Honestly, I find this policy excessive. I understand that buffets need rules to prevent people from sharing food or taking advantage of the system, but charging $17 for a 2 year old who ate practically nothing seems unreasonable. There should be some sort of reduced price or reasonable policy for toddlers, especially when they consume such a small amount of food. The food may be worth trying, but because of this experience and the way the situation was handled, I would think twice before returning. A $17 charge for what my 2-year-old actually ate felt ridiculous and left a very negative impression
