I love Thai food and I felt like trying somewhere new so I came to Tarah. It was a Friday night and it wasn't that busy in there - but the decor and ambience was nice and kind of charming. Friendly staff, good service. I ordered the Basil Fried Rice Chicken and the Cocoa lava milk tea. He said the food would be ready in around 15 minutes but I feel like it took less time than that. It was really quick. And it was packaged to go in a brown paper bag that is very Willow Glen. Cocoa Lava Milk Tea: I like my milk tea to borderline be a milkshake and this delivered on that. It was icy, chocolate-y, and all around delicious! I got the last of their boba for the day, so it wasn't the most fresh boba and I could taste the difference. But that's just a little aside and it didn't detract from the beauty that was the milk tea. I honestly feel like I would go back there just for that. Highly recommend if you have a sweet tooth like I do! Basil Fried Rice Chicken: This dish came with a side of veggies which was a nice little surprise! I asked for the fried rice to be Thai spicy and wooooo boy was it spicy. Like dang they really delivered. It was incredible. The most spicy "Thai spicy" I've ever had. Like SUCH a great job I can't get over it. Really really recommend this dish. Anyway it was truly incredible and I think this might be my new go-to Thai spot. This review is for our takeout experience. We ordered egg rolls, pad see ew, and basil stir fry (ground meat+veggies, aka pad kra pao) through their website. Total with tip and tax was ~$52. We picked up our order 30 minutes after ordering with no issue - they didn't seem too busy. Word of caution: make sure to check your order before leaving in case they forget something!! When we got home we found that our egg rolls were replaced with the curry puffs, and the basil stir fry did not come with rice (the receipt clearly stated that rice was included). A stir fry without rice is pretty disappointing, as there is nothing to cut the saltiness. The curry puffs were good but not what we wanted. +2 stars because the food that we did order was really tasty. I would just be wary of doing an online order. read more

I ordered dinner for takeout from here last night as I wanted to try out a new Thai restaurant. The restaurant is available for delivery through Doordash and they have a large amount of dishes on their menu. My family and I tried out the Combo Pad Thai, Chicken Pad See Ewe, Fried rice with prawns, roti, curry puffs (comes with 4 pieces) and Tom Kha. Presentation wise, the food looked great. The Pad Thai was my favorite as it had just the right amount of flavor and was not excessive in terms of seasoning. The Tom Kha was on the sour side, which surprised me as I am used to having Tom Kha that is more sweet due to the coconut milk. The curry puffs had a filling that is also more on the sweet side. The fried rice was little bit dry but it still tasted good. The Pad See Ewe was slightly over seasoned with soy sauce and the chicken was very dry. The roti was pretty average. I was not a fan of the curry sauce that came with the roti as it tasted of excessive curry powder and needed something sweet to balance it out. Price is average here. I appreciate how they tell you how many pieces of prawns they put in a dish since some places can skimp out on that. Overall, I personally was not the biggest fan of this restaurant, however, it is not a terrible option if you are craving Thai food. read more

Flavors were not well balanced. Everything we ordered was unrelentingly sweet: curry sauce for roti, salad dressing for larb, stir fried eggplant, and pad kee mao. Delivery ordering system did not have adjustable spice levels resulting in dishes that lacked proper Thai heat. Additionally, rice noodles were all clumped together. Chicken for larb not finely minced and needed more toasted rice powder. Definitely not recommending. read more

We discovered this place via Door Dash when trying to search for new takeout places during the COVID-19 lockdown. We were hesitant to try out a new place after a bad experience a few weeks prior but this place did not disappoint. We have done takeout from here a couple of times and each time, the food was excellent. We've tried the basil chicken which has become the new favorite of my kids, crispy catfish, chicken satay and crab fried rice. My wife and I love the catfish and the crab fried rice. The satay chicken was the only thing that could have been a little more flavorful. The portions are a good size and the packaging for takeout was great. Come here with my Thai's friend to try out this new restaurant in downtown Willow Glen. They have authentic Thai food. The portion is big, we order Pad See Ew and Pineapple Fried Rice to share and can not finish both even it is so good. They have a little section for extra sauces, peppers, and a must try Thai chili peppers. The owner is super friendly and give us complimentary dessert after asking us about the food. The taro milk tea was super pretty and tasted good, not overly sweet. The chicken satay was not at all dry like some places, and a decent portion size. My favorite was the spicy catfish, it was not as spicy as expected but still very flavorful and crispy. Tried this place based on other reviews and to support local business. Ordered chicken satay and received it packed in a Boba cup (sealed at the top). The chicken was dry.
