I dropped by to inquire if Dr V the optometrist can see my wife. The frame shop was busy but Angie seemed to notice the urgency of my concern. I told her my wife's issue, which was not really to check her diopter. Angie, knowledgeable of her trade, explained that my wife would need an ophthalmologist to see her. Still she went in to ask Dr V what can be done. The clinic was really in full schedule today and yet I appreciate the time and effort Angie put in to ease my worry. She managed to work out a way of explaining or suggestions options without interfering on her time with the current patient. This kind of balance is learned through experience and a genuine desire to ease a worry of one without interrupting attention on the other. Thank you Angie. Came here to see if they accepted VSP and they still do! Quick and easy process. I was able to get some glasses that I really liked and even got a second pair without any pressure from the sales associate Elmer. He was very informative and took measurements with an Ipad device that I thought was pretty cool and hadnt seen elsewhere. I came in for my annual eye and contact exam. Dr. V was out until afternoon and I was seen by Dr. Lisa Mak. She was wonderful. I felt like she explained each aspect of the exam and was very particular with eye health instructions. I recommend her to those looking for a good doctor. 10/10 would go back to Dr. Mak! My eye exam overall was great - very informative! Dr. Amanda La was very nice and took the time to educate me on her findings during the exams. What would have made the experience excellent and more beneficial would have been to know what exams the appointment includes and the duration of each exam so the patient/customer is aware that there is no cushion time within the allotted appointment. There is a 10 minute grace period for tardy patients which I think is nice to offer; however, if you are more than 1 minute late from the scheduled time then you already cannot receive one of the exams offered. Perhaps this is something to keep in mind for scheduling appointment times; not sure if this falls on the doctor's practice or Target Optical. read more

The woman at the reception desk is nice BUT their scheduling system is no bueno. She made me an appointment for today at 10:30 AM last week. I show up and there is nothing in the system. She apologized and said the app has been doing weird things. She offered to reschedule me but why would I do that? I mean, I already made one trip and they didn't have me on the schedule. Do I wanna try this again and make another trip for nothing? Yes, I could call ahead and confirm BUT it's the principal. Use technology that works and if the app that they are using is wonky, then write it down and follow up with your customers rather than depend on a faulty system. It does not look too good when you have a crappy scheduling system. Can't say anything about the doctor or their glasses but I will say they need to work on their system. If you make an appointment, call ahead to confirm they have you on the calendar. read more

The receptionist that helped me was very sweet and helpful. Dr. Rivas was nice as well but The prescription she gave me was wrong. The first prescription she gave me was very weak in my left eye but I assumed it was because the trial pair she gave me was the issue and that the actual prescription would be better (she didn't have a trial pair for the exact prescription so I was given a pair closest to the prescription). I came back on the second visit to tell her how the trials felt. I gave her my opinion about which brand felt more comfortable and then told her that my vision felt off and that I wasn't sure if it was the trial pair being weak or if the prescription she gave me wasn't strong enough. She told me it was likely the trial pair being weak so I believed her and filled the prescription soon after. Upon receiving my new contacts I immediately noticed how blurry my left eye still was. It wasn't dramatic but it was definitely not at the same level as my right eye which was also still a bit blurry. I scheduled to see Dr. Rivas again who was surprised to see me. I told her what I was there for and she proceeded to review her notes and tell me that I said I was happy with the contacts when I last saw her. I replied by reminding her what I actually said "contacts were blurry etc.." Throughout the re-exam I felt she didn't believe me about her initial prescription being too weak and kept pushing her prescription on me. In the end I convinced her to give me something stronger and she warned me id have headaches if it was too strong. With the stronger prescription I could finally see farther away but it was a bit too strong and I did end up having headaches. At this point I gave up on Dr. Rivas who seemed more concerned about me questioning her initial prescription than actually correcting it and helping me. I never had problems in the past so all these inconveniences were very new to me. I have since gone back to my usual optometrist and am now very happy. If you have a weaker prescription then maybe she can help you out but I recommend that people with really bad eyesight and astigmatism go elsewhere to someone with more experience. read more

I get my yearly reminder call from the office last week and unknowingly made an appointment for my husband and me, only to find out in the day of the appointment that Dr Judy is no longer working here. So, instead of letting me know that she is no longer there, they make sound like they're calling from her office. I'm so glad we found out before we left the house but I'm really not happy about Target Optical waisting my time and being so deceiving. I have been wearing glasses/contacts for the last 18 years - with that being said I know around the amount of money I should be paying for any add ons for my frames/lenses/contacts w my insurance coverage. I have spent around 300$ - 400$ on high-end frames at other Optical Offices but not at Target! I will be coming back for my next set of frames. I spent half of that amount for some cute glasses from Armani Exchange. I would usually go to Costco but my brother recommended this place and I went in to try it and I have to say he wasn't wrong! The optometrist was super nice and explained enough information about my vision and asked what I was comfortable with and most important took her time. Once I went with the optician he was really nice, even though it did get busy he took the time to explain to me what i was ordering and getting, I took my own frames and there was no problem to get only the lenses, the price was pretty good and I received my glasses in 6 days and that's counting weekend. Lol I'm very happy and will be bringing back my husband to get his glasses here! read more

I felt so comfortable in the store. I wasn't pressured to buy, they educated me about the right frame for me. Kristina the store manager and her staff are great. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. You should really give them a chance to show you how knowledgeable and friendly they are. Their prices for glasses and sunglasses are affordable. I was in the store & remembered that my sunglasses needed an adjustment. I have never been a customer of Target Optical but I stopped in & asked if they do adjustments. Lindsay was so pleasant & offered to check them out for me. I put them on & she took a mental note of what needed to be done. She immediately went to work on them. She asked for my number so she could call me when they were finished so I could continue shopping. No more than 10 minutes later, she called me. I put them on again & she tweaked them a bit & I was good to go. No Charge. Really, No Charge! I tried to give her cash & she refused. Lindsay was so helpful. When they got there, they stated that Dr. Judy was not in when in fact she is no longer associated with Target as of Feb 2016. There is a new Doctor there now and it is not Dr Judy. I guess I'm a fan of this place because I am able to use my wife's vision insurance to get my glasses here. They have a great selection and I almost feel like this place is a small secret. They have great quality name brand glasses here and I was able to get the style I wanted. The return is about a week, it could be quicker depending on how busy they are. Also when I need an adjustment or something fixed I'm able to bring it in and they address right away. The staff here is also very good with working with your insurance and they also let you know if they are having some sort of special that can benefit you. read more

She even accommodated me when I told her my concerns with having the air blown into my eyes! I have had the worst experience with this optical and i am very upset. I went in to get a prescription with no insurance and they said it would be 50$ but because i had contacts on they charged me even more so it went up to 109$ and i walked out with a new pair of contacts with the upgraded prescription so i didn't ask any questions i just went with it. Dr. Rivas was nice but i feel like she doesn't care for you're well being she just goes in does the job and left right away, i would try to ask questions but she would cut me off like if it was stupid and went on with her exam. After the exam i went to pick out glasses staff was nice, picked out glasses and bought them. And now its been 19 days later and i haven't got my glasses in yet. I called several times letting them know that its been past "6-10 days" and they reply with its just an estimation. I call back another day and they say ill call the lab and see what is going on and ill give u a call back tomorrow morning. I ended up calling because it was past noon and haven't had a call and they said the lab received the glasses broken so they need a new pair to work on. And they said they will give me a call when they arrive from the lab. I can't even begin to explain the frustration because of the lack of customer service considering Target is usually on top of it. I am very disappointed and will definitely not be back and hope to get a better experience at another location. read more

I had no idea, until today, that Target had an optical dept. When I saw it I walked in I asked about repairing my glasses and sunglasses. Lyndsey went above and beyond to help me. She explained everything to me from their warranty program to every manufacturer they carry. I was overdue for my eye exam as was my boyfriend. I made a same day appointment with my own optometrist. I discovered while there how much I was needlessly over paying for glasses for years! I went back to Target with our prescriptions. Lyndsey was gone..but Anais was there. She spent a lot of time with me and my boyfriend to help us find our perfect glasses! She was amazing! Now I will never go anywhere else for glasses! read more
