Very clean, the first thing I noticed. Food was good and quick as always. They have one if the best garlic naan. There are plenty places to eat in the same shopping center, but first thought was Tarka. Service was pleasant.

Today I was craving coconut curry and Tarka hit on all cylinders! This was quite the unique vegan coconut curry...zero sugar, robust curry flavor and whole vegetables (potatoes, carrots, zucchini, colored peppers). The vegetables were adente and flavors were separate and distinct for each vegetable. The curry was accompanied with basmati rice. Both the curry and rice were in generous portions. Orders were placed by customers at a cashier kiosk after scanning a QR code. You can order in restaurant or "to go." Tarka has ample seating and noise level was at low level. Great for a friend meetup or team lunch. I can't wait to return to Tarka...

Tarka is consistently good, easy, and cost effective. And there's usually enough food for leftovers! I met a friend for lunch here last week. We were able to order quickly and find a seat inside at a high top. The folks were nice and friendly. We tried their new chicken & cheese samosas along with a lentil lamb dish and malai kofta dish with a side of garlic naan. There is limited parking very close to the restaurant but it's easy enough to find parking within a short walk in the lot. Tarka is also an easy place to pick up food if you want to eat in. Clay Pit has been an Austin staple for many years so it's nice they have been able to make similar food for those of us who like good Indian food but don't have the time or the dollars to eat at Clay Pit. I know I will be eating here again!

I love coming here. The food is always incredible and my body feels good after eating at Tarka. The service is always so fast and everyone is kind and helpful. Bernice was a GEM today specifically and everyone always has a smile on their face. The ambiance is clean, low volume, and conducive to great dinner conversation. I will ALWAYS recommend Tarka to friends. The coconut curry is my favorite and I always pair it with my favorite drink: the iced chai. Delicious!

Great option for quick and delicious Indian food! We went for dinner Wednesday night and service was quick and food came out in less than 10/15 minutes for everything! We ordered two orders of samosas (two come per order) - delicious!! The mint chutney is great with them too. My fiancée ordered the chicken biryani and I ordered the kabob combo. The chicken biryani was medium spice level and great flavor and the heat def builds! The combo was good too - came with rice and cooked bell peppers and zucchini. We also ordered garlic naan - very necessary!! The strawberry rose lemonade and mango lemonade are so delicious too - def get the drinks if you want something sweet and unique. The indoor is very large and decorated so nicely too.

This place is my favorite Indian restaurant and my go-to spot whenever I'm craving Indian food. I always get their chicken tikka masala extra hot with an order of garlic naan -- it's always flavorful and hits the spot every time. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, with warm lighting and the aroma of spices filling the air. Parking was easy to find, and the service was great -- the ladies working there were so kind and welcoming.

pretty yummy spot of traditional indian food. i got their tikka masala with chicken and hot along with a side of garlic naan. i think the tikka masala had good flavor and the spice level of hot was a perfect level! the garlic naan definitely added to the dish, so i highly recommend. the portion size was very filling and i had a good amount of leftovers. the prices were very good as well, definitely fit for a college budget!

Y'all, I love Tarka's korma, because it's like the creamiest and tastiest curry I've ever had. I love the basmati rice too. However, today I got their Beyond Keema to try it out and it was beyond salty. It definitely tasted like beyond meat, which is not bad, but the saltiness was way too much. It came with sweet yeast rolls. I like their garlic naan and samosas. Overall, Tarka is a good Indian fast food place that's affordable and clean, but it does depend on what you get. I'll be back!

Needed something spicy since I was sick and this hit the spot as it was hot hot when requested. Naan was also not too thick. Chicken was small pieces and more curry but still spicy for my liking. I asked for 4 naan and service rep was nice to warn me that it might be too much. Indoor dining isn't too great as it's laminate old school but take home was fine as it's more fast casual.

Tasty. Glad I finally got to try it. Is it the best Indian food I've ever had? No but for fast food setting, it was good. The quality was better than typical fast food. The portion size is ok for the price. I liked how I got to use my yelp discount upon checkin and how my friend got free apps with their app and another discount with her yelp checkin. I got the typical chicken masala. I liked the rice with it. It was a bit salty but with the rice it was good. Tasty. Chicken was tender. She enjoyed her lamb korma. She got the highest level of spice crazy girl lol she was sweating but loved it. The samosas were delish. The naan was garlicky. It went well with my masala. Wished it was AYCE naan like many Indian places :) Clean cute place. Convenient off of Anderson. I did keep thinking of Star of India across the street. Its AYCE but that's for another day. I am just glad I tried Tarka finally and I truly enjoyed the lunch. Nothing bad to say about it. Except maybe bigger portions but I was satisfied nonetheless.

    Chicken vindaloo
    Lauren S.

The chicken vindaloo (hot option) was pretty spicy! I also loved the garlic naan, but I've never been disappointed by garlic naan. From the outside and based on the customizable, almost modular menu, I was expecting this place to be more of a Chipotle style fast-casual place, so I was surprised to learn that the staff brings out food to the table. They were really fast, though. I barely even sat down before I had my veggie samosas in front of me. I couldn't tell if I was supposed to bus my own table or if they would do it for me, so I apologize to the employees if they had to clean up after me!!

If you're looking for a fancy shmancy dining experience this is not it. If you're looking for fresh, delicious, affordable, quality food...you're at the right spot! The staff is friendly, and the kitchen is fast on preparing the dishes (without compromising quality or making it seem like a rush job). Fantastic spot when you have an Indian craving.

Was looking for a quick fix close to my hotel and yelped this one. Ordered some Mulligatawny Soup, which frankly I'm surprised was on the menu... turned out perfect! Ordered Tikka Masala and that was good however I asked for spice level to be hot and it was more a medium and sweet from perhaps some coconut sauce. Ras Malai capped off the evening. Not too sweet and just right. Service was prompt. The place was clean and it's a quick serve kind of place. Order at the counter and take a number

Does it offer a lunch buffet?

We do not have a buffet at lunch or dinner.

Anyone know if nutritional information on their menu is available somewhere? I think a chain has to have 20+ locations before it is mandated but Tarka seems to < 20 at the moment.

It also took ages to make and get our food. I know vegan food does tend to take longer because of the care process, but this was another level. They did not call our names when the food was ready and it took ages. We even came to check on our food a few times and it was not ready. Ambiance Food truck in the middle of an empty lot. Since I normally loved cooking vegan at home, some of what they served here, especially lentils, matched exactly what I would have cooked. The soup and tea were amazing as well, and there was a piece of paper on the table with explanations about the tea. Even on a Monday in December, this place had everything that I needed. Apr 8, 2026 review:…read more I've been at Nori two times in person and recently tried their to-go order. We got one Austin roll ($22), volcano roll ($15), creamy spicy tan tan ramen ($20), teriyaki sesame tofu yakisoba ($20). I have had their sushi and yakisoba but tried their ramen for first time. I was impressed with their packaging. As you can see in picture, veggies and noodles box was on top and soup at bottom. The only thing I didn't like how noodles became very sticky because of how tight they were packed. So I got it as cold (because I live 30 mins away) and sticky. Ramen came with all the veggies like grilled Chinese broccoli, tofu, sweet corn, marinated shiitake mushrooms, red onions and negi. Yakisoba noodles had the Stir-fried noodles tossed with cabbage, scallion, carrot, marinated shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant negi in a savory house sauce. It was good if you like this type of noodles. Austin roll had Smoked tempeh, tempura tofu, jalapeño, pickles. And on the to Avocado, roasted garlic oil, tempura flakes, smoked paprika, teriyaki. Volcano roll was a deep fried roll which had spinach, avocado, sweet potato. On top: spicy mayo, sweet soy sauce, chili sauce, Caviart and tempura onion. I would say this is the best vegetarian sushi place I've found in Austin. So if you're in search, this wouldn't disappoint you.

I ordered a holiday cheese box on December 3 as a Christmas gift. My card was charged immediately. The order never shipped, and I received no communication until I followed up myself, multiple times. After the holidays, I learned (only because I kept pushing) that my order had been internally canceled due to a system glitch, with no email, no refund, and no outreach. I was repeatedly told it would ship on specific dates that came and went. A replacement order was finally sent in January. It arrived late, wet, with melted and ruptured ice packs, and the cheese was very soft to the point my friends weren't sure it was safe to eat. The box also lacked the gift note that was supposed to be included. What bothers me most is that my card would have stayed charged indefinitely if I hadn't chased this down myself. That's not okay especially for perishable food. It's a real shame, because the product itself is great. But based on this experience, I can't recommend ordering gifts or anything time-sensitive unless the fulfillment and communication processes dramatically improve.

The polenta was good, but if I'm being honest, I could've used a few more of those sweet potato crisps because they were dangerously delicious. 2. Bread with blistered shishito pepper cream, garlic butter, and tarragon chermoula - All were great, but the blistered shishito pepper cream stole the show. I quite literally licked the plate clean. 3. Glazed carrots with carrot cream - Refreshing with a subtle kick of Asian-inspired flavors that really elevated the dish. 4. Cauliflower and white grape soup - Hearty, comforting, and perfect for the cold weather. I was skeptical about the grapes at first, but they worked beautifully, adding just enough sweetness to balance the saltiness. 5. Squash cappelletti - The pasta was cooked to perfection with the ideal amount of filling. I was already getting full at this point, but there was no way I was leaving this unfinished. 6. Cranberry & ginger popsicle - A fantastic palate cleanser that actually helped reset my appetite for dessert. 7. Concord grape sorbet - I neither loved nor disliked it, but it was refreshing and surprisingly nostalgic. It instantly reminded me of PB&Js with grape jelly that my mom used to pack for me as a kid. 8. Burnt butter apple cake with maple ice cream - I'm a sucker for anything apple, and this combination was next-level. The perfect way to end the tasting. Overall, I had an amazing experience. The service was outstanding, the space was intimate and ideal for a date night, and the food was thoughtful and creative. I'll definitely be back for the spring menu. You don't have to be vegan to love this spot!

I can't stop raving to everyone who will listen about how much I loved Fabrik. From the sensational…read morefood to the warm service and intimate atmosphere, they offer an out of this world dining experience. I was skeptical about vegan fine dining as a concept but my tune quickly changed as I went through the experience and found each course to be better than the last. The food was fresh, unique, so flavorful and very filling. Presentation of each course was stunning as well. Completely worth the $75 pre fixe price. The restaurant is very small with maybe 10 tables per seating and only two seatings per evening. Plan ahead to visit this gem as they book out months in advance. I've already booked my next reservation for April :)

Fry Let me tell you…read moreabout FTG. The little food truck in the back of a sweet-ass dive bar called Mama Dearest. Do you wanna know about the dive bar? You'll have to check out my other review. But just know it's filled with weird taxidermy and novelty items that are one of a kind. But I digress. Back to the food. I would like to tell you I tried everything on the menu as many times as I came here. But alas, only four or five things. Unfortunately, their pierogies are the best thing I've ever had. Not just in Austin, but ever. I am now desperately seeking pierogies that rival FTG's. It's not just the pierogies themselves... but the sauce, it would make angels sing. Every time I tried something new, my heart would long for the pierogies. I finally gave in to my desires and quit trying other new things. I think next time I go back I'm just going to ask strangers if I can have a bite of their food, so I can say I've tried everything. But until then, this review is for what I have tried. After the pierogies. My next favorite things in order. Fried chicken (perfectly crisp bites), jerk chicken (little spicy, not dry, perfect), chilli (so spicy), gnocchi. The cheesecake would technically rank after the pierogies, but because they're a dessert I don't wanna mess up the order here and confuse y'all. The two dudes that work this truck, are here EVERY time. I'm pretty sure the only days they take off is Mondays and Tuesdays. Tell them the girl from Kansas City with a big dog sent to you. Lastly. Know that you won't find this place overrun with college kids or snotty hipsters. Just regular people enjoying a good dive bar.

Rating: 2.7/5 [Postmates delivery]…read more We were so excited to try FTG's food, especially given its high Yelp rating. Unfortunately, it ended up being extremely disappointing. The meats were unforgivably dry, though everything else was good. Steak & Zab ($22): The zab, a mix of green beans, mushrooms, and broccoli tossed in salsa macha with sabayon, was actually enjoyable. I liked the flavors, but it was a bit too creamy/saucy for my husband (likely due to the sabayon). The steak, however, was dry and very chewy. Asian Style Spare Ribs ($17): This came with a 1/3 rack of spare ribs, a Thai cabbage salad, and five-spice fried potatoes. The potatoes were fire, and the salad was solid. But again, the meat missed the mark--super dry for the most part. We tried dipping it in the sabayon and other sauces to add moisture, but it didn't help. The fish sauce glaze didn't come through either. The only redeeming quality was the generous portion size.
