I like this authentic Chinese restaurant located in the southwest side of town. This place is great for large groups. I've been here a few times, and I haven't had anything bad here. You know you're in an authentic Chinese restaurant when they serve a complimentary pot of hot tea. We decided to try the ginger and scallion lobster. The lobsters are live, and the server will show you the lobster before they cook it. You have the option to select the size lobster you want. The lobster was cooked and prepared cut and easy to remove the shell and eat. We ordered the smallest lobster, but it was more than enough for the both of us to share. We also had beef and broccoli to share. It had the perfect amount of sauce, which wasn't overpowering like most places. Again, I haven't had anything bad here. Their menu includes a lot of offerings. One of my favorite places for authentic Chinese food.
Taste as its name suggests.... It's all about flavors. This restaurant has become a mandatory stop every time I'm in Las Vegas. This place delivers consistency, quality, and taste that lingers. Their private dining rooms are perfect for big gatherings -- spacious, comfortable, and ideal for celebrating with a group and singing karaoke. The seafood is always impressively fresh, and the kitchen handles every preparation style flawlessly, from delicate steamed dishes to bold wok‑fried favorites. And don't forget the Peking duck. The table‑side carving is a show in itself, but the flavor is what keeps me coming back. Perfectly crisp skin, juicy meat, and all the traditional accompaniments done right. It's a must‑order, no matter the size of your party.Taste Chinese is one of those rare restaurants that anchors my Vegas trips. If you want exceptional Chinese cuisine with top‑tier service, this is the place to go.
I don't know what they put inside the food, but some of their dishes are so outstanding. I will be thinking about it for almost a week after I've had it. I first tried this place when I attended a graduation ceremony for a friend and they had everything ordered family style so I got to try and array of items. I have been back at least three times after that since some of the items were very hard to get out of my mind. There's this one noodle dish that is so freaking good. I just couldn't stop thinking about it and I've gone back several times and it has tasted as good almost every time another item that is a no fail item will be their roast duck. I had the super fancy expensive Peking duck for the friends event, but even the regular roast duck is absolutely delicious. There's something about the marinade that they've already injected into the meat that makes it taste so good. Other notable item would be there garlic, sautéed snow pea stems. It's a seasonal item so you need to ask. Price is kinda high. Easily the bill goes beyond $100 for two when I eat here. But also, we're fatties that don't know how to commit to just 2-3 dishes. You will certainly have leftovers to last you all week though. This spot is probably my current fave for roast duck/peking duck and my fave dine-in Chinese restaurant on this side of town.
This place is a gem. It gave the fine dining vibes when we walked in. It was open and spacious. My cousin's daughter had her wedding reception here and we were amazed. The theme was Chinese so all the tables were decorated in red table cloth. We were served a 10 course meals complete with Cantonese style lobsters. To the side they had a boba station set up. In their private room they had a Photo Booth set up. Anyhow even when it's not special occasions I highly recommend this venue. Their Chinese food are authentic and well presented, not to mention tasty and good portion. Service is superb. The servers kept up with us ordering and constantly switching out our plates for cleaner ones and bringing us drinks and removing empty plates. Thank you for your service! I will recommend this Chinese restaurant to anyone!
Taste is open on Thanksgiving. We opted to order in a variety of food for this year's Thanksgiving and ordered the following after perusing the menu and reviewing others reviews on Yelp. Orange chicken 5/5 comes with a side of white rice Lobster harbor style 5/5, note lobster is market price so check pricing and you get to choose your fresh live lobster from the tank. Pan fried noodles 5/5 served separate when ordered to go so you can mix the broth/gravy with the noodles so they are fresh. To go order took about 35 minutes and Alex was helpful with my questions and pictures of the food I found online. Lots of tables inside the restaurant and all were packed for the holiday. Thanks, Taste, for helping round out our family style dinner!
One of the go-to places for authentic Chinese food in SW Las Vegas Pros - large interior with private rooms for large parties. Very fresh market priced seafood and a wide variety of food selections. Very fast and friendly service. Amazing place for large family dinners Cons - none! Definitely check this place out for an authentic Chinese family meal. Always packed so make a reservation!
This was my first time at Taste. My Mother-In Law chose it for our family dinner. As soon as I walked in I was very impressed with the decor. There is a beautiful round crystal chandelier in the entryway that is very well kept. The artwork and lighting is very modern except for the one art piece with the horses. It seemed a little out of place. We were thinking that it maybe for the year of the horse. It is very clean as well. I left the ordering to them and just asked for Beef Chow Fun. I know I can eat that dish with my allergies. It was delicious too. To my surprise I was able to eat some more of the dishes they chose. Yay! The Clams with Black Bean Sauce had peppers and onions in it. It was very good. Next was the Eggplant with Garlic Sauce in Casserole. This is a dish that I order every time I see it on any menu. This and a bowl of rice and I can survive anything life throws at me. This is a little bit of a cheat for my allergy but I'll take the risk. I'll take the rash and walk around looking like I'm 6 months pregnant.......... There's more that includes a toilet so I'll leave it out. lol. This dish was the best I've ever had. I've had it in dozens of different restaurants but this is the best. Please don't miss this one. You will regret it. The eggplant is tender yet not mushy and the sauce is perfection. Definitely get rice. The sauce with steamed rice is so good. The server came by and asked if she could take the plate. There were only a couple of bites left and some sauce. I put my hand over the plate with lightning fast reflexes and said no thank you I'm still working on it. I quickly scooped up every last bit and threw it into my bowl of rice. I nonchalantly rubbed the spoon across the rice to get the extra sauce off the bottom. Phew Emergency avoided. The Lobster W/ Ginger and Scallion and E-Fu Noodles. I couldn't have the noodles but I had to have some Lobster. It was fabulous. They said the chef did a great job with the noodles. The noodles took on the flavor of the sauce instead of just being on top of it. I hope that makes sense. The presentation was beautiful too. The Peking Pork Chop was a no go for me. They said I'd was fantastic. I could tell by the way they were eating it that it was something else. I was so jealous. They said the pork was fried perfectly and stayed crispy even though it was covered in the sauce. The pineapples in it didn't really taste like anything but it added to the texture. I decided to have a piece of the pineapple so I could taste the sauce. It was very lacking in the pineapple flavor but it was good because it took on the sweet flavor of the sauce. As I ate another piece I accidentally took a bite of the breading left in the sauce that was the size of a pearl. OMG from that little piece I couldn't tell how amazing that dish must have been. I HATE MY ALLERGY! I turned to my husband and said "It was amazing wasn't it?" He looked down at the floor and said "yes it was." Finally for dessert was the Sweet Red Bean Soup. I don't know if that's what it's called. It's a soup made from sweet azuki beans. Most people know azuki from mochi confections or shaved ice. It was served hot and had pumpkin inside. It was a nice meal with great food and great service in a clean modern dining room. Can't ask for anything more.
Before checking into our hotel on the strip, we stopped by this Chinese restaurant recommended by our friend. My husband and I were nicely greeted and sat down as soon as we opened the doors. They had a variation of food items to choose from but we mostly stuck with meat options--what caught our eyes was the diced ribeye french style, roasted pork, mapo tofu with minced pork, and yang zhou fried rice. All the dishes we ordered were delicious! It was husband approved and the price point was average. If you're looking for some Chinese food not on the strip, I would highly recommend this place.
Delicious Cantonese food. The string beans were perfect. The dungeoness crab also worth getting. Nice clean place if you crave traditional Chinese flavors.
Always a great meal here! Delicious and authentic Cantonese Chinese food. They also have the staple Asian American dishes. Everything is sooo good, super fresh and flavorful. The portions are large and are meant for family style. I come here pretty often and it's great for large parities. Service is good and the restaurant is can get quite busy. I haven't disliked any of the dishes I've ordered. The restaurant is clean and has a good vibe. Definitely give this place a try!
We got to Taste at 6:30 on Sat night and were pleasantly surprised that our party of 4 got seated right away. By 7:30 all the tables were taken. Every dish we had was so flavorful! I would get everything again with the exception of the crispy salmon skin and egg yolk. This is only due to the texture. I was expecting the good crunch of a salmon skin that is like a salmon skin in sushi. It was a little crispy, but more chewy. Lots of flavor, but not my jam. Also I think it would be a lot unless you have many people to share it with. We have been to Taste several times and it is always a satisfying tasty meal. We like to come with at least a party of 4 so we can get more dishes to enjoy without much leftover.
Yes. Amazing menu items and everything I would want in taking my family here. It's packed here for good reason because the food is so great, you might have to wait a while for a table. It's a smaller dining area but clean and fine nonetheless.
We had a fantastic meal here. Our group of seven enjoyed the Peking duck and the lobster, but my favorite dishes were some of the less expensive options, especially the tender salt and pepper calamari, the melting eggplant and garlic casserole, the string beans, and the cumin lamb. This is a great place to come with a big group. Most of the tables accommodate eight or more. It's definitely worth the drive if this isn't your neck of the woods. If Taste is indicative of the Asian restaurants springing up in the Southwest, they're going to give the original Chinatown a run for their money.

TASTE-y food! Happy this opened on the south side of town. This place has become a go to spot for me if I'm craving delicious tasting Chinese food, especially late at night (hours: closes 11pm). We tend to go around 8pm and later so there is no wait time! There is plenty of room with a private room in the back. It's great for large parties (we've seated about 8 to a table before!) When it comes to the tea, it's disappointing. It lacks flavor & simply tastes like hot water... The food is a whole new story! Everything you order & packed full of flavor and it's family style. Our go to's: Crab or lobster harbor style - flavor on flavor of garlic and chili that seeps into the meat of the crustacean Eggplant in garlic sauce- spicy + tangy in a beautiful Szechuan sauce Cold Jellyfish - served along with pickled radish and carrots Deep fried flounder -crispy on the outside and and moist on the inside + sweet soy sauce We've been going since this place has opened & will continue to take our late night cravings here read more

Wow! Chinese food is not my favorite but this place is my new fav Chinese. The 3 of us enjoyed the food so much that when the bill came. We were happy to pay $400.00 for dinner at Taste. And again too excited about the food and forgot to take pictures when the food arrived. BTW they gave you sweet tapioca and red beans for dessert. Love love love read more
We (a party of 11) walked in on Thanksgiving around 5 and we were able to get seated right away being we were the second or third table there. We got service right away and ordered a bunch of food! My father-in-law ordered so I'm not quite sure of the exact name of the dish. We got some type of soup to start, beef broccoli, sweet sour spareribs, peeking duck (what this place is known for), fried intestine, chow fun and shrimp fried rice. Everything was so tasty and delicious! The only down side, was that we had to serve ourselves thr peeking duck. Meaning, we had to put the duck into the bao, put the sauce, cucumber and spring onion. We are use to it being put together for us. Also, once our order was in and food came out, we didn't see our waiter, no one came by to check on us or refill our waters. Hence, the 4 stars and not 5. But besides that, it wouldn't stop me from returning! I would definitely recommend this place and definitely come back probably not on a holiday. read more

I was very excited upon arrival. A new Chinese spot on this side of town?! I was feeling pretty indecisive and hangry and we decided to let the server choose for us. Unfortunately, for us it might be my worst idea yet. He chose very traditional and needless to say I didn't enjoy what I had. He offered the salted yolk on shrimp and the Mongolian stew. We did enjoy the sautéed choy sun and the hot and sour soup. So back to my normal Chinese go-tos! I will most definitely come back, but probably won't ask for a recommendation again. Haha. read more

We really enjoyed everything we ordered from this restaurant. They ran out of alaskan crab though but its ok we still enjoyed the substitute order of peking duck so yummy, best peking duck I have had. The lamb hot pot was also a different cuisine that you can't find in other Chinese restaurant its so so good! Im not a fan of lamb but this one is different they got rid of that weird after taste of lamb meat. Also the the crispy foreshank is a must try. Even my toddler loved all these foods and he is a picky eater like me. read more

Fresh Lobster and Cherry Shrimp! I've never had fresh shrimp before but was told this was a must try so we did! This was the first order that came out, the shrimp were large and so fresh, you can tell the difference from fresh shrimp to shrimp I'm normally used to, it was a really great experience to try fresh shrimp. Definitely recommend this one. We went with boiled served soy sauce on the side. This was delicious, it didnt get fresher than that. The next order was the Lobster over Vermicelli noodles. This was not on the menu, but they prepared this dish with no problem. This was delicious as well. It was garlicy and light and paired the rich lobster great with the light vermicelli garlic noodles. There was lobster tank and the server brought out the live lobster to confirm before it was brought back in the kitchen to be cooked. The 3rd order was the fried fish. There weren't any live fish available, but they did offer either catfish or flounder to be either fried or steamed. We went with fried with the ginger/scallion soy sauce on the side. Not my favorite but still not bad, I've also not a huge fried fish person. To end the meal, we received our last and final dish of mapo tofu. (one of my go to Chinese food items) This was good, but it didn't have a lot of pork, it wasnt bad but not the best mapo tofu I've had in Vegas. The rest of the dishes were definitely a stand out though and between the fresh shrimp and live lobster, I will definitely come back. Service is great, we were first seated at a small table, but after the amount of food ordered, we moved to a larger table. Waters were quickly refilled and food was brought out quickly. It was an early dinner, so the restaurant was pretty empty at first, by the time we left around 7pm, the place was pretty packed with all large parties. Come early and beat the crowd! read more
I came to Taste a few times now and food was solid! Service was good and the food came pretty fast. The duck was very crispy and overall it was delicious although personally I still prefer the Peking duck wrapping rather then the buns you are served in cantonese restaurants. The walnut shrimp was really yummy! They also have private rooms that you can book and we had hosted an event there. The room is nice, clean, and spacious and has a TV that you can use as well. Definitely recommend Taste for some authentic and delicious Chinese food in the area! read more

Aside from take out orders, dine in is available again. I like that they still have the large tables with lazy Susans and still serve the hot tea with your meal. When we were served our water, there was a lipstick stain on one of the glasses. We explained and asked for a new glass, but they weren't very surprised or apologetic about it. The party seated next to us had their seats so close that it was hard to get through to go to the restroom. I'm not sure if their capacity is limited or their social distancing is enforced because when we went just about every party seated had more than six people. There's a good assortment of authentic dishes and more Westernized favorites on the menu, as well as live seafood options and meat sold at market price.We ordered beef & broccoli, honey walnut shrimp, combination Singapore rice noodle, roasted duck, eggplant w/ garlic sauce, and boiled fish. - Beef & Broccoli: good, quality of meat and taste is just a bit better than your usual Chinese takeout, but familiar taste -Honey Walnut Shrimp: the sauce is good but is laid on so thick, but the shrimp stays crispy - Singapore Noodle: too much noodles, out-ratios the sauce, meat, & vegetables - Roasted Duck: very good; juicy and the skin has a nice crisp to it - Eggplant: the eggplant is very well seasoned and cooked - Boiled Fish: nice, soft texture to it, but flavor is quite subtle Overall, good food and nice place to sit down. We've had a better experience here pre-COVID, but now it seems like they could be more attentive to following regulations and cleaning. read more

What a great way to start off my Chinese New Year! Came here for lunch today and I was pleasantly pleased with their food. SO tasty. The food was 5 star and the service was good enough. Once we ordered, no one really came back to see if we needed water, more hot tea, rice, napkins, or anything else but it didn't spoil anything... we thoroughly enjoyed our food and our company. I would definitely come back with no hesitation. The House Special Pan Fried Noodle and the Chicken w Fat Noodles were the best I've ever had. read more
Food is so delicious! The Peking duck is my favorite. Their food preparation is unique to other Chinese restaurants in the area. I like that they offer table side carving of the duck as well! Skin is so crispy and the thin slices are perfect to eat with the steamed buns. Prices are reasonable and the establishment is clean. There's a lot of parking and there servers are nice as well! I love that they also have cold chrysanthemum tea! Definitely check them out! read more

Was on the hunt for pan fried noodles close by and it lead me here!! -- Arrival: upon arrival, reservations weren't needed and there were signs requiring face masks. -- Staff: all were very friendly and checked on us often. -- Menu: *lunch menu doesn't exist at the moment* there's chef specials and a multitude of items to choose from. Menus are disposable. -- FOOD: -honey walnut shrimp: crispy but not soggy - loved how the walnuts weren't mixed in and was more of a garnish. -pan fried noodles- was so flavorful!! -eggplant and tofu- so glad we ended up ordering this, the tofu soaked up all the flavors and it was great. -pork soup dumplings- for $9 ... you really can't beat the price for these! -served hot tea as well -- had to ask for ice water. -- Recommend? For authentic comforting Chinese food, yes! I need to try out more items :) read more

I've been here a couple times now and must say - the food is great. Some of the best duck I've ever had was actually at this restaurant. Once in a while they will have a specials menu with some cool items. They had fried salmon skins and large intestines on it the last time I went and I thought it was pretty unique - don't usually see those at other restaurants. Another dish that really stood out for me was their curry beef casserole - mildly spicy with some carrots, potatoes and some nice tender stewed beef. If you like clams - I highly suggest you try the clams with black bean sauce. Their seafood here is really fresh - you can check them out in the tanks out back. If you're not feeling seafood - their diced choice ribeye with garlic and the french style ribeye are both delicious - the french style if you've never had it before is slightly sweet with a semi-strong black pepper flavor to it. This place probably would've been a 5 from me if it wasn't for the service - I don't think it's the fault of the servers but it seems like even during peak dinner time, there's only 3 of them running the whole place. It always takes a while for them to even notice you at the door before you get seated. I wish they would hire more help - I watched the same guy cutting peking duck for a party table side and immediately have to go and clear another table while grabbing orders from another table. Definitely don't be shy about flagging them down for service, but be patient as they have a lot of work to do. read more
This restaurant is really a gem. The egg rolls are crispy and soft on the inside. Meat was the salt n pepper chicken wings and these were amazing. It's so crunchy on the outside and then you get that full chicken flavor with the added pepper spice it's such a great bite. The fried rice is also very good. read more
We order the Peking duck with sliced and wrap. The duck was very crisp outside and tender inside. The duck wrap with lettuce was very tasty too. We also order the deep fried crab, it was ok. Might need some more pepper or salt. Shrimp dish was average too. It's not bad for the neighborhood, service is ok, as long as they not busy. They do check on your as needed the place is clean and bathroom is clean too. Good for large group read more
Located on the west side of Rainbow Blvd, Taste offers fantastic Cantonese food at affordable prices in a cozy setting. Having just recently returned from a trip to Hong Kong, we were craving some more delicious char siu (BBQ pork). We had some excellent char siu out in HK and could not wait to try some and see what was available in Las Vegas. We ordered two combo plates: - 2 combo plate (roasted duck and char siu) - 3 combo plate (roasted duck, char siu, and roasted pork) The char siu was tremendous and was almost as good as some of he BBQ pork we had out in Hong Kong! Very tasty and tender with plenty of flavor! The roasted duck was also very, very good! So juicy and tender and packed full of flavor! The service at Taste was also outstanding! From the time we were seated, to the time we were served, up until the time we left we were treated to attentive and friendly service. The young lady who served us was friendly and helpful and chatted us up a bit about Hong Kong. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience all the way round! We will certainly be back soon to enjoy more of that char siu and try other menu items as well! Check this place out! You'll be glad you did! 4 solid stars. read more

Look- if there aren't 100 Chinese restaurants, there are at least 10 within a square mile of anyone in any neighborhood in any town.....I.e. there are a lot! That being said, I'm telling you this place is IT. Hands down the best Cantonese Chinese food I've had in Vegas. They have a great mix of authentic (black mushroom fungus in vinegar sauce, chicken cartilage, etc.) as well as mainstream Chinese food (sweet and sour, beef and broccoli, etc) Whatever you get, it's sooooo good. They're fast, safe, and sure they're not fawning all over you and bowing before you like some expect at every restaurant- but they KNOW Chinese food. And that's enough for me. 5 out of 5. read more

No, they are open. But they are very slow/too busy to answer the phone, promptly.

Almost all the restaurants that do dim sum in Chinatown & environs, start serving at 10:00am.

Yes Cesi, I believe they do... I went back for a second time and had 3 different dishes and they were all killer...
Do you need to pre order Peking duck at this restaurant?
No, this is one of our most popular dishes. So usually we prepare plenty. However, you can always preorder just in case.
