This review has nothing to do with the product and everything to do with service. I've been a repeat customer here for years, and as things have changed with renovations and the such, one thing that has remained consistent are the drinks and food, so for that Tastea deserves applause. However, today, I was greeted by maybe the rudest associate I've ever met. Kayla, here at the Berryessa location, was nothing short of impatient, non-accommodating, and rude. While I understand that this is just a job, and everyone should be given grace, customer service is something you can't rush through, and for that I am disappointed. In the future, it's probably good practice to not cut your customers off in the middle of their order. It's probably not good practice to breathe so deeply over drink adjustments when they're literally readily available to be made on the app. And it's certainly good practice to provide a welcoming environment that encourages people, like I have done for years, to return for more. read more

I stopped by this location for the first time in the late afternoon. I ordered Hot Matcha White Rabbit (hot) and an Iced Strawberry Green Tea. Matcha White Rabbit was pretty good! Not too sweet. This Tastea is located in the corner of the Berrysessa Hills plaza. This is a semi-busy plaza, so parking may be hit or miss, depending when you come here. Like most of their locations in the Bay, their ordering counter / pick up counter and seating area is awkwardly situated. My go to drinks used to be either their Jasmine Sunrise with honey boba or their Sea Foam Jasmine Iced Tea with honey boba. Unfortunately, they do not have the Jasmine Sunrise on their menu anymore. Easy ordering through the app- they allow you to schedule pick up time which is what I normally do - but allow 10-15 min extra as sometimes they do get backed up with walk-in traffic. Drinks are pretty consistent and they offer a lot of pre-mixed varieties. I went for Chamango (lite sweet) and it had a lot of great flavor - one sip was sour, one sip was sweet and one had burst of tajin so I guess I didn't mix well or if that was intention. Tastea is my go-to when I'm jonesing for something on the sweeter side for boba. I remember one of the first few experiences I had coming here, I had gotten a fruity iced smoothie and it was pretty bad so I stopped going here altogether. I think what brought me back here was their unique green honey boba. I had a pretty good experience with their golden milk tea with honey boba so I've been getting that drink ever since then. It's pretty nice that they give you free samples to try out for new drinks that may end up on the menu and you get discounts too! Who doesn't love a discount especially when it's on boba?! I also like how you can order ahead on their app. There aren't many boba places that allow you to order ahead and designate a pickup time. Tastea does also offer snacks and party-sized drink jugs to take on the go. I recently visited Berryessa Taste Tea and while the products and overall experience were fine, I was disappointed to find out that they don't accept cash. As someone who prefers using cash for purchases, this was inconvenient and felt exclusionary. Not everyone relies on credit or debit cards, and cash is still a legal and widely used form of payment. I understand the appeal of a cashless system for efficiency and security, but it can alienate customers who either don't have access to electronic payment options or choose not to use them. Businesses should aim to accommodate all customers, and accepting cash is a simple way to do so. For the record I have a debt card, but choose still to use cash. I hope Berryessa Taste Tea considers revisiting this policy to ensure inclusivity for all customers. read more

Ordered their mango milk tea with honey boba for my friend and I prior to work yesterday from Tastea and it was delicious. The mango chunks along with the honey boba added more texture and flavor to the drink and aroma of the drink itself was awesome. Service was friendly and fast. Drinks, food, service, and ambiance are amazing, but I recently bought the pizza roll for almost 9 dollars and got only 3 rolls.

At the old price it was quite decent but now with the price hikes and fees it basically comes close to $8 for a regular size drink with boba which is ridiculous. I would also like to point out that this location is marked as having free and public WiFi but there is no signage indicating what the password is and each time I ask the employees they do not know or claim that there is no free WiFi when it says tastea guest WiFi. They also removed half of the tables and only about 4 indoor tables remain which make it hard sit down and invite people over. Such a shame because it was pretty decent before but now it just feels like a cash grab. read more

You can physically order in-store now, which wasn't possible during the pandemic. The other option is to order ahead of time through their app system, where you can view your rewards and offers. Additionally, you get a free drink on your birthday, which is redeemable through the app or by telling them your phone number in-person. |INTERIOR| Inside, there is a counter where you can begin your order. All forms of payments are accepted. Once you order you can wait outside or on the side. They have a separate counter to pick up your drinks that's protected by a plexiglass. If waiting outside, they use their speaker system to announce the serving number and if you have the app, you're also alerted that your drink is ready. On the right hand-side of the store there is a bathroom available to customers. You have to ask the staff for the bathroom code. |DRINKS| With an extensive menu to choose from, there's drinks that suit every season. They have seasonal/highlighted flavors like watermelon during the summer! The amount of drink they provide is also more generous than other boba shops that commit to filling half your cup with ice. They do offer alt milks like oat and almond milk. Sugar and ice levels can be adjusted, as well. For a while my go-to was the winter melon milk teas in either hot or iced. This location is soo packed. Plenty of parking since it's in a plaza. I goofed up and forgot to order ahead. I ended up waiting in line for 10 minutes and another 15 minutes for my drink. I ordered my usual Bootea shaker with less ice. It wasn't until I got to my car that I realize that they gave me bootea shaker with less sweet. Um no that's not what I ordered.. thank goodness it was still kinda sweet. I prefer my drinks less ice so it doesn't get watered down. I didn't want to make a big deal since they were obviously busy so I just let it go... After I got home, I removed the ice so it didn't dilute the flavor and sweetness of my tea. Tastea has a pretty wide selection of drinks, which includes coffee, milk teas, fruit teas, and smoothies. The drinks come in two sizes, 20 oz and 32 oz (which is huge and a lot larger than most boba places). My go-to has been the winter melon green milk tea with honey boba! The tea is strong and it's also very milky and creamy at the same time. I also really like the green boba here which you don't see anywhere else. I would suggest getting less sweet as their drinks tend to be on sweeter side. I've also tried a bunch of their fruit teas before and everything I've had was pretty good. I would definitely come back to try out their coffee drinks too. The service here was pretty fast. Also, I highly recommended downloading the Tastea app. You accumulate points for your orders and can redeem a free drink once you reach 150 points. This was my second time trying Tastea. My first time was at a different location and I tried their Tiger Milk Tea. That was really good. However, I would say this drink (Bootea Shaker) was absolutely DELICIOUS and sooo REFRESHING. Not to mention, the name of the drink is hilarious and fun. I'm a fan of Tastea's drinks and this is the first time I've tried their popcorn chicken. The service was quick and I was so excited to munch on it while driving. To my disappointment, there was barely any chicken meat. They were mostly breading and I couldn't even pick it with a stick. Extensive menu and great COVID protocol, but I don't understand the hype. Maybe my expectations were too high given their popularity. I ordered The Unknown with medium sweetness for myself and a few other drinks for family. I guess my standard 50% sweetness for boba/teas was not low enough here. I felt like I was consuming a bag of sugar through a straw. If that was 50%, I can't imagine 100%. I also asked for less ice, but they either don't accommodate or didn't see the requests under any of my 4 drinks. Bummer, but maybe a blessing in disguise to help dilute the sweetness. I appreciate their use of real fruit bits, especially the longan in The Unknown (which is what drew me). I haven't come across another boba place that offers that. But the teas themselves are nothing special. I'll give it another shot some day and go even lower to 'lite sweet' to see if that helps highlight the actual tea and mute the sugar. Just had lunch next door at Pho San Jose and I was craving some milk tea. This place was conveniently located a few doors down so decided to try it out. When you first walk in, it kind of gives a Jamba Juice vibe with their setup. The staff was extremely friendly and the menu was very clear to follow. (Less sweet with full ice) The tea was very impressive - the jasmine really stood out. Even with less sweet, it was a bit on the sweeter side but the flavor of the tea was able to help balance it out. The boba was a tad bit inconsistent. Half the balls that were cooked well and the other half were on the mushier side. Their small size is pretty sizeable so just keep that in mind. The other thing I noticed was the teas were on the pricier side ($6 for a small). Overall had a great experience. Staff was friendly and it was very clean inside. Inside is a little crowded and messy, but that's okay as it seemed like they were behind on orders and really in scramble mode. 4/5 Service: it was really a shame that they were behind on orders, we ended up standing in line for a little longer than expected because the cashier was helping make drinks in between taking orders. However the actual wait after the taking the order and the service of the cashier was good and I commend them for that! 4/5 Taste: I really liked how I could taste actual tea in the drink, and the fruit bits were really nice and sweet. I appreciate the quantity as well but man paying $7.50 for a boba drink does not feel good, maybe I just miss the old days when boba was $3. I was never a fan of the So Cal Tastea and with this business opening up so close to home, I just had to give them another go. In all honesty, Tastea in general was SUPER over hyped, a waste of calories, & not worth spending my money on. With that being said, this past visit was an absolute game changer and it was all thanks to the honey boba!! Any good boba should be light, soft, & finished off with a nice chewy bite. Leaving any leftover drink in the fridge is an absolute no-no since this coldness changes the texture and makes the pearls disgustingly hard. In comes Tastea's HONEY BOBA... The pearls kept it's chewy deliciousness and tasted fresh even after being placed in the fridge for hours on end!! Beverages were ordered online and allowed for us to skip the never ending long lines that this business is known for.
