We went here on a Saturday around 2:20pm and there was no wait! The inside of the store has a couple of tables to sit at and it looked a little small inside. Anyways, we still ended up finding a table to sit at. We got the Tiger Milk Tea with honey boba, Horchata Crunch, Amazing Strawburst, the Sunset Peach with honey boba, and the Yummy Gummy for my drinks! We also got snacks too! The snacks we got was the Karate Chicken, Calamari, and the Buttload'a Fries! Out of the drinks I got, the Yummy Gummy was my favorite and out of the snacks, the Karate Chicken was my favorite. I tend to love items similar to popcorn chicken at boba places, so I wasn't surprised about that. Grand opening day was a huge success! The line was still packed when we arrived at 2pm, and did not let up after we got a late lunch across the street. The service was great despite the never ending line, and they put out drinks incredibly quickly. They had ample staff working and they were all on their A game. We got a Matcha thai with honey boba (medium stevia), Avocado avalanche with honey boba (light stevia), buttload'a fries seasoned with jalapeño lime, and karate chicken. This is a busy plaza, so parking may be hit or miss on weekends / weeknights, but there is usually more parking in the back end of the plaza, if you do not mind parking further away and walking over. Service was good - two of the guys working there was friendly and helpful when asked about their product recommendations. I had been to this location a couple of times and tried a multiple of different boba drinks at this location, but I feel like the quality was not as consistent here compared to their other locations. I had tried several of their snacks here as well, but I felt like all of them tasted super greasy / oily to the point that it made me sick afterwards for the whole day / night. I originally wanted to go to a different location, but I did not know that their other location closes at 10 PM, but this one closes later at 11 PM. I'm a big fan of Tastea after participating in a Yelp Experience in the past. The East San Jose Tastea location does not disappoint. I ordered the 32oz Winter Melon Milk Tea with Boba and admit it was a big portion for me, but the boba was fresh and chewy. The milk tea itself was tasty also. Tastea has a rewards system. First timers - download the app for a free small drink! With the app, you can order online in advance and just pick it up. The inside has a few tables and chairs, but it's mostly to-go. The shop layout is quite narrow as well. To order, you have to walk straight into the ordering station meanwhile, the pick up area is right at the entrance. I often come to tastea for their drinks and snack selection! Down load their app! You can get a free drink after your first purchase and they always have a deal every week / every other week. Food(4/5): I love their popcorn chicken but recently they've added less spice even when you order the spiciest level. Their drinks are really good, some of my favorites are the tea to mango and the strawberry matcha but they are on the sweeter side so I recommend asking for less sugar. Service(5/5): Service is good. I've been a long time fan of Tastea so I decided to check out this new location in Vietnam Town! I ordered ahead a Great White with aloe vera for myself and a Jasmine Milk Tea with honey boba for my sister. The Great White is one of my go-to drinks so I was delighted to know that it tastes just as great here as any other location. The drinks were ready as soon as we arrived and this location actually has a walk-up window. I've noticed they've been doing that with their newer locations which is really nice because it helps with the flow of traffic and just speeds things up for many. We ended up ordering a Popcorn Chicken in person and it took 7 minutes to come out given there were no orders ahead of us (just cook time I think). Chicken was good too, although I've been really noticing the combination of inflation and shrinkflation -- recent price increases and smaller portions. Went during their Grand Opening Weekend so there was BOGO event. They are located in Vietnam town a couple doors down from CA Bakehouse. Line was out the door and around the corner, but it moved relatively quickly. There was worker at the front of the door directing people into the store in order to prevent overcrowding. Inside, store was clean and the high ceilings made it feel more spacious than it actually was. What's unique is the drinks they sell come in various sizes: 20oz, 32oz, or a jug size! Can also adjust the sweetness level: middle sugar, less sugar, no sugar, or stevia (sugar substitute) replacement. Ordered at the counter, and drinks came out in less than 5 minutes! Visited on 1/28/24 @ around 6ish. I don't usually leave reviews, but I got the buttload of fries, the popcorn chicken, and a strawberry matcha. For both spicy levels, I got level 3. Compared to other photos of spicy level 3 on yelp, our food was covered with an unbearable amount of chili powder. Basically dark red black food. The portion for the fries were good but for the popcorn chicken it was less than half full with majority small pieces. I'm just sad we wasted money on food that we can't even eat. read more

This is a new Tastea spot that opened up in Vietnam Town and I'd say they're still working some things out, but it's definitely solid like the other Tasteas. The staff here are super nice and friendly. Me and my girlfriend got the Tiger Milk Tea and the Matcha Thai. They forgot to put the sugar into my drink at first, but they were able to add it after I asked them to. One big plus I'd say about this Tastea is that they fully dissolve their matcha in the matcha drinks. The other Tasteas usually don't dissolve their matcha all the way, which causes it to be a bit bitter. There's room for improvement here for sure and I'd definitely give this Tastea another try. read more

This boba restaurant is the only one I know of that serves Matcha Thai milk tea! I actually came in with some doubts because at other Tastea locations they usually mess up my order, but the servers here were attentive and friendly, and my drink came out fine. My drink was decent. I ordered a Matcha Thai Milk Tea with half ice and half sweetness. It was a little on the bitter side because of the matcha amount they put in, but if you enjoy your milk teas on the sweeter side, only adjust the sweetness to 75% or don't adjust it at all. We're so happy to see another business open up in Vietnam Town. They're still in their soft opening phase, so keep an eye out for their grand opening this upcoming weekend! This area has so much potential & we love seeing it thrive! Parking here can be a hit or miss depending on day/time. There's so many businesses in the area, so it can get packed. We visited on a Friday afternoon & service was very prompt! They were quick to take our order & drinks didn't take too long to be made. We saw someone come back in to complain about the taste of their drink while we were waiting & the worker was happy to remake it for them. They're so nice here! What I didn't realize was how big their cups are! Their prices are about the same as every other boba shop in town, but their cup sizes are way bigger so you're definitely getting your money's worth. We enjoyed all the drinks we got! I'll say tho, their sweetness level is definitely on the sweeter end. We always do 100% sweetness bc we're sugar fiends, but their 100% sweet here is definitely sweeter. We didn't mind at all, but just keep that in mind if you're someone who doesn't really like super sweet things. We also got an order of their seasoned fries, calamari, & karate chicken. Stevenson is super friendly and casual, it's like as if I've known him outside of him working, and Van, the supervisor, is super sweet and always smiles! This past weekend was their official opening so BOGO deals. Yay. I stopped in early on Sunday morning and barely a line. I picked up four of their fruit teas. The BOGO deal was limited to certain drinks and my current fav, Watermelon Heaven was not included, unfortunately. Anyways I got the peach me sweetea, the unknown, peach sunset and the lychee peachee. I like that all the drinks came with fruit bits, so you don't have to get toppings, if you don't want to. I still want to but it's not necessary. Haha. All teas are also customizable with sweetness and ice level. Tastea also has sugar alternatives too, which is nice.
