I checked Yelp and was pleasantly surprised to find this place within walking distance. The shop is much larger than many other boba places I've been to, with plenty of tables if you want to hang out and enjoy your drink. I placed my order with the lady at the front and went with the Brown Sugar Boba Latte. Even though there were a few large orders ahead of mine, they worked quickly and my drink was ready in about 2-3 minutes. The first sip completely surprised me in the best way. The boba was perfectly chewy, exactly how I like it. Not hard at all. The brown sugar flavor was rich without being overpowering, and the drink itself was well balanced. It's easily comparable to some of my favorite boba shops in the Bay Area. I'm so glad I found this place while waiting for my car to charge. I know there's an abundance of boba places in San Jose, but I-tea is definitely top tier! Decided to pop in this shop for lunch. The menu was huge. Typically I'm skeptical of places with huge menus like that (quality over quantity mindset) but I was soon to be proven wrong. I ordered the mango lemon breeze from their jasmine series, a basil popcorn chicken, and a tofu dish. The drink was super refreshing, had fresh mango chunks and a big serving of perfectly chewy boba. The drink was definitely 10/10. The chicken was super hot and crispy, definitely fresh from the fryer. They seasoned it really well, and garnished with basil and garlic. Unfortunately, it was a little dry, and could have used a dipping sauce. Overall the chicken was a 8.5/10. This brings us to our final dish, the tofu. It was a more silky tofu, which was harder to skewer, but still tasted delicious. The tea is always fresh and fragrant, not bitter, and not watered down like other boba spots. I-Tea is a mixed bag for me, and honestly the only tea here worth drinking is the Alishan Jin Xuan. It's a milky oolong by nature, floral and lightly roasted, but the execution here feels off. The tea is extremely light and comes across watered down, especially once milk is added. They also charge extra for milk, which makes it more frustrating since the milk itself isn't very creamy. The mouthfeel ends up thin, and the tea flavor gets lost. The color of the milk tea was basically milk colored, which says a lot. You can barely taste the tea. On the food side, the popcorn chicken was the bright spot. It was fragrant with a good crust and solid seasoning. The pieces were cut a bit too large, and there wasn't enough basil to really elevate it, but it was still enjoyable. Overall, Alishan Jin Xuan is tasty, but it should taste richer and more pronounced. Here, it drinks more like diluted milk tea than a proper milky oolong. read more

I was doing some shopping around this area and decided to stop by this place to try out their tea. They have a pretty big selection of beverages. They also have snacks and entrees on their menu as well. Upon walking up to the counter, a friendly employee greeted me and took my order. I ordered the Super Fruit Tea with no ice. I wanted zero sugar added. The cashier told me that they can't adjust the sweetness of this beverage, and it must be with 30% sugar. The Super Fruit Tea has apples, oranges, lime, and pineapple in it. This drink had orange seeds in it, which I had to spit them out and it was very inconvenient. It's also a choking hazard. When I got the drink the sleeve on the drink was full of sticky syrup so I asked them to replace it. Though small, they make the most of the space they have with tables for small groups to gather and enjoy their tea and snacks. At night service is usually fast, but the welcoming could improve. This is - by far - my favorite iTea location. The people/service there is good and the quality of drinks and food are ultra consistent. iTea is the only place I know of that serves Hot Ginger Milk (don't knock it till you try it). It's my go-to winter drink. It's the perfect creamy consistency, and the gingery flavor just warms you up inside. I don't know how other iTea locations can mess it up, but trust me, I have personally experienced it. Baby Bear loves the Black Tea Oreo Creamy (it's under their Frosty menu). I rate it a 3 1/2 but Yelp doesn't do half stars. It is a good place to grab some delicious boba. I had the creme brulee and I found it super sweet with 80% sweetness. I have a sweet tooth but sometimes too much sweetness makes me feel like my teeth will fall out. I think 50% sweetness is best for a perfect balance of sweetness. But that is my own opinion. The drinks tend to be pretty sweet regardless of the sweetness level you choose. The slushies/smoothies are pretty refreshing so I have been choosing that as an alternative when I do decide to grab a drink with my snack.
