Welcome to SV, Tastea! Had Tastea once in Garden Grove and have been too lazy to drive to SJ. Now I don't have to :) Grand opening is today, 10/12. I went in yesterday for soft opening. No line and 20% off, score. I ordered the matcha Thai milk tea w/ boba. It was fine, but I prefer my matcha and Thai tea separate. Next time I'll stick with my usual order. Located in between Five Guys and Pizza My Heart. They also had samples of Thai and jasmine tea which was yummy. The layout is kinda weird with the pickup window closer to the door and cashier at the other end. Hope they have a rewards system set up soon. They had a media day the day before, so when I went it was relatively quiet. The staff were friendly and accommodating as I decided to order off their secret menu: Mango Berry Blast with Aloe Vera. Their matcha tasted soooo amazing with the oat milk! Their boba is colored green which is pretty cool and gnarly. Their pricing is a bit tad higher than other milk tea places, but I'm guessing with how good their milk teas taste, that's the reason why? Their employees are super nice and friendly! My order produced something of a sweetened oat milk laden with overcooked pearls :/ My note about ice seemed to be disregarded (see photo. lol). Though generously dished, the boba itself was pulpy and entirely flavorless. Charming & tidy interior. Lovely staff. I can give credit for that! Surprised at the high ratings, especially with so many competitors in South Bay... I'm assuming that their specialty/fruit teas are less disappointing. Lots of rewards and ways to earn via their loyalty program, and they have the huge jumbo sized drinks, plus a variety of coffee/tea options. Location is a bit further than I would normally trek for my boba cravings, but if I was in the area, I would consider coming here. Tea flavor was solid and as mentioned before, they have jumbo sized cups so when you really need the extra hit, you can opt for that :) Drinks tend to run sweeter than my norm, so adjust down to account for that. Staff was very friendly and quick to help us out. They also have a mobile app so you can place your order ahead of time and just walk in to pick up. Oolong is one of my favorite teas to pair with milk and they did an amazing job of nailing the strong floral oolong flavor. Pumpkin Pie Milk Tea $5.75: Their October seasonal pumpkin pie milk tea with formosa black tea topped with cheese foam & a sprinkle of nutmeg on top. The cheese foam took me a second to get use to it, i wasn't expecting a slight salty flavor profile from a pumpkin pie drink. The pumpkin pie milk tea had a distinct flavor but I feel like it was missing a more strong cinnamon flavor. Dirty Horchata $5.75: The dirty horchata is along their slow drip coffee lineup with blended horchata. A good cinnamon and milky rice flavor, and a subtle yet present coffee flavor. Absolutely loved how well the coffee & horchata flavors meshed without overpowering one another Winter Melon Milk Tea $5.5: Winter melon is a staple & a classic drink I always love having. I LOVE TASTEA!!! This is probably the best spot for fruity drinks and I wish they would open one closer to SF. I always get the peach me freezie which is the perfect slushie!! Peach and strawberries are my favorite fruits so this drink is my go-to. I love the fruit bits they put in it. My bf got their milk tea with boba and he really liked it as well. I actually have not tried their other items but all their tea drinks sound really refreshing. I know some locations sell snacks, but this location didn't seem to, or maybe not yet since they're new. This location is in a huge plaza by five guys and it's easy to find parking. There was a bit of a line to order and had to wait awhile for our drinks but it was definitely worth it. However I recently decided to come here again and try their fruit teas and was actually impressed. I got the Peachme Sweetea and it was the perfect refreshing drink on a hot afternoon. Yelp took down my last review of Tastea because it was for the wrong location, apparently the one I went to was this one in Sunnyvale. Anyway I still feel the same about my experience as it was a very fun time and both my friends and I enjoyed our drinks. I am going to have to give this place 5 stars because there is only 1 boba drink I like to order, that is an Avocado smoothie, and only one guy I go to to get it, my b o y Jason at Boba Ninja in Berkeley, yet this place makes a killer avocado smoothie that is super XXL and can compete with Boba Ninja's avocado smoothie, which is really saying something, and this has been the longest run on sentence in the history of Yelp so I am going to add a period now. Tastea has now become one of my favorite boba places in San Jose, namely because of their avocado smoothie, but also because of the experience my friends and I had there as they both also enjoyed their bubble tea drinks as well. Their boba is colorful (maybe for the holidays?) which was fun and they are very tender, indicating quality craftsmanship to whoever was stirring the boba in the back. Tastea has always been one of my favorite spots! High quality drinks, boba, and great atmosphere. Like that you can order online or through the app which is amazing during COVID. Ordering in person can take quite some time. Overall, their drinks can be very pricey but I believe the quality and diversity of their menu makes it worth it. My go-to drink is the matcha coffee, lite sweet, regular ice since they do not top off their drinks. The matcha flavor and coffee blend together so well and the boba is always soft and chewy. Other drink pictured is large avocado avalanche (subject to marketplace price for avocados) and was about $8.50. Pretty pricey but they do not skimp on the avocado at all. I've also tried their other milk teas on other occasions such as their jasmine or winter melon, also great flavors and drinks! I swang by to get a drink after playing tennis at Las Palmas on a hot day. Usually I get milk tea, but I wanted something a bit more refreshing so ended up with the 20oz Peach Me Sweetea (50% sugar, no ice). The drink was pretty good - loved the little chunks of fruit in it and the peach flavor of the drink. I did think it was a bit too sweet for 50% though, so I'd probably go down to 25% next time. It was the perfect drink after tennis to cool me down! Ordering was pretty easy. We waited outside in a short line, and they let in one party inside to order. The smallest of the few south bay locations that I've been to and most important thing to note is that THEY DON'T SERVE FOOD here (ie: no chicken, no shrimp, no fries - you get the point). This location however does have a huge parking lot, so you never have to worry about parking. They always have their signature green honey boba - I've been to some San Jose locations where they claim its still honey boba, but it's regular and not green. My go to is always a Peace Me Sweetea with honey boba and 25% sweet. In the summer, you can never go wrong with the Watermelon Slush! Always order online through the app - so much easier and you get pick it up in a reasonable amount of time. There are some seats indoors and a few seats outdoors shared with Pizza My Heart and Five Guys in the plaza. Otherwise, no complaints about this location. Glad that we're getting a few more Tasteas in the area. Only wishing they served food here and the prices were cheaper. read more

All of them have a good combination of tea and fruit flavors, but I do recommend getting a very low sweetness because it is still pretty sweet. Easy ordering through the Yelp app., but the order was not ready when I arrived. I was welcomed when I entered the store and said I had a pick up order. The man at the counter seemed confused, but then a woman from the back handed him a post-it with my order written on it. I appreciate that this resulted in a really fresh order; however, I was in a bit of a rush. The avocado smoothie was authentic (I watched him put real, fresh avocado slices into the blender). It could have been blended a bit longer (there were some large chunks of ice), but he was understandably trying to rush my order. The Bootea Shaker Tea (not my favorite tea name) was... I always thought Tastea was well-known for their fruity drinks, but I was pleasantly surprised by their milk teas! So far I've tried their matcha, horchata, and matcha thai milk teas, and they were made perfectly each time. Horchata milk tea surprisingly hit the spot. I asked for light ice, which they actually gave me, so the drink didn't taste too watered down. I liked how you could still taste the tea in each drink. Most boba places just mix matcha powder with milk and call it matcha "milk tea," but I like how Tastea uses jasmine tea to make their matcha milk tea, so you can actually taste the matcha and the jasmine in the drink. They also have a ton of milk options (oat, non-dairy creamer, or whole milk) and let you adjust the sweetness with stevia option available! This is now my go-to spot for boba in SJ :) read more

Very good fruit teas and awesome price for tea vs size in the Bay Area. I'm always a fan of fruit teas that use real fruit instead of the corn syrup/fruit syrups. Definitely appreciate them swapping out toppings too complimentary.
