Tasting Notes is more than just a Korean coffee shop. It has a full lunch and dinner menu offering fried chicken, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, rice bowls, fries, shaved ice, pastries, and more. The ambiance is cozy and chic with ample seating and good lighting. I came by to get a pick-me-up drink. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte ($8). It was okay, nothing special. I finished it in a couple of gulps. I like my matcha STRONG and this was on the weaker side. The strawberry puree at the bottom was very sweet and overpowering. Felt like I was just drinking strawberry jam. There's a couple of things on their menu I would like to try, but it's hard for me to justify their steep prices. $18 for 8 pieces of wings, $12 for a bacon/egg/cheese, $18 for a sandwich, $20 for a rice bowl? With prices like that, I'm going to expect to be full for at least half of the day. It doesn't help that I live near Fort Lee and can get my fix of Korean chicken for a lower price. But maybe I'll shoot my shot one day and try it out.

Very pleasantly surprised by this little cafe. Stopped by on a whim and decided to try a variety of items like the Einspanner, grilled chicken wrap, fried chicken wings, and raspberry cronut. Einspanner: cream on too was delicious but a bit tooooo sweet and not enough coffee to balance out that sweetness. It was a bit overpowering. and $8 for such a small amount too. Grilled chicken wrap: perfectly balanced between chicken and veg, was happy with the amount of protein inside. Felt clean and healthy. Fried Chicken Wings: Super super crispy and the korean sweet spicy sauce on the side had the right amount of heat. Was surprised at how good the wings were. Raspberry Cronut: a must try, was flaky, crispy, sweet, and indulgent. The perfect sweet treat when drinking coffee. The other items im dying to try is their rose pasta, shrimp burger, and hot honey chicken & waffle. We had the greatest service by David who was very sweet and welcoming. We didn't feel rushed and he provided great guidance on what to get.

My husband suggested this place after we picked out our christmas tree. I was intrigued by the 'coffee and chicken' vibe. The inside was super cute with a few tables and a bigger table off to the side where some younger girls were hanging out. My husband got a large black coffee and the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich and I got a small coffee with oat milk and the Fruit and Croffle. Coffee was good, nothing special, I would probably opt for a fancier drink next time to get the full experience. My husband's sandwich was stacked high and has so many different flavors with the crispiness of the chicken, sweetness of the honey and a little kick from the pepper jack cheese all on a nice brioche bun. My croffle (croissant and waffle combo) was crispy on the outside and light and layery on the inside. It came topped with some fresh bananas, strawberries and blueberries with fresh whipped cream on top. I thought it was so yummy!! Overall, we enjoyed our food and the experience, would definitely come back!

Cute interior with beautiful natural lighting and delicious drinks and treats! I enjoyed the Matcha Strawberry Latte - a very sweet yet refreshing treat - which paired greatly with the glazed croissant donut. Can't wait to come back and try their other matcha drinks and of course, their chicken!

I had to come back a second time here. Great place to grab coffee, snacks and lunch/dinner. Korean cafe offering great house coffee (if you like Gregory's house blend, you'll like it). I had their kfc combo the first time I went and it was good. Very crispy and seasoned well (not salty at all). They even give you a disposable glove with a small pail to drop your bones on. Service was friendly and efficient. Nice decor and clean. Check out Tasting Notes for both sweet and savory cravings. And remember to try their house coffee! It very good.

A quaint little cafe that offers coffees, teas, sandwiches, wraps, fried chicken, pasta, and others. I came here with my wife and ordered a matcha latte, matcha cappuccino, chicken and waffle, and the garlic parsley fries. Everything was delicious, but the standout was the chicken and waffle. The chicken was tender and succulent, and the waffle was light and fluffy. All in all it was a great experience and I will definitely return to try the other menu items.

This was my first visit here and it did not disappoint! I had a hard time deciding what I wanted but was very happy with the crispy chicken over rice. My bf got the wings combo (one drumstick and some wings with waffle fries) We were told it would take about 15-20 mins and it was worth the wait. The place is casual, you order at the counter. I had to get a apple pie donut to go. Parking lot is small and is shared with other businesses. Can't wait to go back and get the chicken and waffles :)

Super cute cafe/restaurant; it's clean and nicely decorated. Food was good, staff is friendly.

Nice new coffee shop addition to the town. Their menu is vast with drinks and food. I never tried their fried chicken but it's suppose to be a main seller here. They sell cronuts, their cinnamon sugar one was delicious and large in size. The prices are a little high for what you get but the ample seating makes this place a good option for meeting up with peers. Cons for me is minimal front parking (potential rear parking) and since they cook/fry some of their food, the cafe can leave you smelling like fried food. Overall nice place.

Nice ambiance and great fried chicken dishes! Wife enjoyed her chicken and waffle and my chicken sandwich had the lightly fried chicken fillet that was literally twice the size of the bun (see pic)! Okay, the chicken was a bit on the dry side which keeps this from being a 5-star, but it was tasty. My colleagues loved the Galbi wrap and chicken wrap as well. It was pretty happening on a Friday afternoon which is always a good sign. Will definitely be back!

Tasting notes gets the coffee right consistently. Delicious cortados with steamed to perfection oat milk - & you can add your own cinnamon?! - count me in. Golden hour hits around 4:45/5 and it's the perfect spot for writing and enjoying a mid day warm cup of coffee with a sweet treat. (from my own personal experience) They also serve chicken, french fries, pasta, wraps and rice bowls. They will not disappoint -- stop in when you're in town, for sure. Drive slow to be sure not to miss it!

Got lunch for 12 at the newest coffee shop in town! Interesting food & drink offerings.Pleasant service with tasty food made with quality ingredients. Prices are on the higher end, but you get good and freshly prepared food made in a kitchen that cares! My $15.75 chicken sandwich was pricey, but it was BIG, tasty, put together well, and served with crispy fries! I look forward to going back!

Unsure about returning here again compared to the other locations mainly due to qualityread more

I visited the Closter Plaza location today (May 6th, 6:30 PM) with my children, and it was the…read moresingle worst dining experience of my life. This place is consistently filthy--as my photos show, the floors and tables were covered in trash, and the food preparation area was a nauseating mess. It is a severe health hazard, yet the staff's behavior was even more revolting. The environment was chaotic. The music was so deafeningly loud that my children couldn't even place their orders properly. Furthermore, there was a severe communication barrier at the counter. When we found out they were out of soft tortillas, my kids were hesitant because the hard shells are far too salty for them. While I was calmly asking about substitutes, a cashier who wasn't even involved in our conversation suddenly barked at us, "Hard shells only, THAT'S IT!" It was incredibly offensive to be shouted at for simply seeking an option for my children. When it came time to pay, the incompetence was staggering. The cashier failed to process the payment correctly, rudely rushed me, and even forgot to provide a receipt. When I asked for his name due to his extreme rudeness, he literally laughed in my face and claimed he was "not allowed" to give it. Not a single employee wore a name tag, smugly citing a supposed "Chipotle policy." The beverage station was a total disaster. As my photos show, the Agua Fresca dispensers were empty, and the area was littered with trash. It is fundamentally dishonest to sell drink cups when there is no intention of refilling the machines. When I requested a refill, that same employee deliberately mocked me, repeatedly asking "What drink? Which one?" despite the empty dispensers being right in front of him. My children were forced to eat salty food with empty cups while the staff ignored our needs and joked among themselves. This appears to be a chronic issue, as I saw many other customers sitting with empty cups they had just paid for. The manager was the absolute worst. He kept his back turned to me and only addressed me after I repeatedly demanded his attention. He offered no apology and dismissively claimed the employee was just "doing his job." He is dead wrong. An employee's job is to provide professional service, not just bark facts. A professional would have said, "I'm sorry, we're out of soft tortillas, but you can purchase a regular one as a substitute." Instead, he gave us a "take it or leave it" attitude. The manager's inability to distinguish between "conveying information" and "being hostile" proves that the leadership here has failed. He tried to excuse the behavior by saying everyone has a "bad day." Let me be clear: My family was having a wonderful day until we stepped into this restaurant. Your staff's hostility ruined it. No one visits a restaurant hoping to be treated like a nuisance in a filthy environment, but if that is what you are looking for, this is the perfect place. I frequently visit the Englewood location, and the contrast is staggering. That branch is always clean, professional, and kind. Ultimately, the quality of a store depends on the manager's competence. Reading other reviews, it's clear this store has been hostile for years. This place has no intention of changing, and frankly, I don't think it's even capable of it.
