Very good steam crab legs and shrimp. The place has a nice cool atmosphere, but the prices are ridiculously overpriced. Especially, surrounded by two big grocery stores that sells the same seafood where you either pay for dinner for 1 at the restaurant or for the same price you can purchase and cook it yourself and feed 8 people. It's no way that 1 person bill should be almost $70 because you added an extra crab leg cluster. read more

Excellent food and excellent service! I had the lobster tail in garlic and butter seasoning and had the fried shrimp basket. The lobster tail boil was outstanding and the shrimp and hush puppies were amazing. My wife had snow crab legs and shrimp (without the heads) and she let me taste (as I let her taste my food) and those were great as well. We both had sausage with our boils and the sausage was outstanding. If you love seafood, you will not be disappointed. I wasn't too pressed on trying out this spot since I've heard a bunch of mixed reviews and even heard of someone's card getting overcharged for a tip they didn't leave but my mother in law wanted seafood so we decided to go and try it out. When we arrived there were a ton of people waiting to be seated (some seemingly frustrated saying they were skipped and have been waiting for a while). The host gave us a buzzer and told us it would be half an hour for the wait. Me and the two other people in our party decided to go outside considering there weren't any seats, after about 15 minutes we went back in to find out that the host "called our number," however our buzzer didn't ring. When we told him that he asked where we were, we told him outside and he said "oh so it didn't buzz?" Then proceeded to bring us to a booth. Not even three minutes after we sat our waiter Dan came over with these chip things for the table and began taking drink orders and explaining the menu. Shout out to Dan, he did a great job doing so lol. He then told us that they do not have a liquor license as they advertise having drinks on their menu. We ordered well done buffalo wings, sweet potato fries, fried shrimp with hush puppies, fried calamari, the Cajun fries and an order of corn. When the food came, my fried calamari had the same look as an onion ring and the buffalo wings had a rubbery look to them. The corn never made it to the table. The hush puppies and French fries were good. The calamari was overcooked I think and when you bit into the inside was a bit stringy (idk what that was about), and the shrimp was extremely mediocre. When we got home later on we realized that we were charged the $3 for the corn on the cob that we never got and that the waiter did mention we wanted the wings well done (even though they tasted as if they were made in the oven or something). Needless to say I just think this place is overrated and people are just excited to have a crab place in Poughkeepsie. I gave this place the two stars because the fries were good and our waiter Dan was good as well. The signing aspect of the place is cool but I would ask customers to limit the cursing they write on the wall considering it is permanent and I did see kids there. read more

This place is amazing. The crab legs, corn and potato come in a clear bag with delicious seasons of your chose. I had the tasty crab season in mild. The flavor was spot on. Plenty of food to fill you up. Great service and seated quickly. A nice variety on the menu to choose from if you want a smaller portion or something larger. Eats: Shrimp head off w/ garlic butter and medium spiciness I thought the garlic butter was way more buttery than garlic, and that made it salty. I thought the medium spiciness really wasn't spicy at all but made I have a higher spice tolerance than I thought. I didn't get enough sauce in my takeout order. By the end I didn't have any sauce left and usually in seafood boil there is more sauce than less. The food wasn't bad by any means but I'm not dying to return. read more

Here are my ratings for overall: Food: 5 stars: Although the serving method is a little unorthodox (plastic bags everywhere) the quality of the crab and lobster is excellent. Seasoning isn't overpowering (we got mild) and the accompanying sausage, potatoes, and corn were all good. So overall the food was good. Our appetizers were good. Waitress was very nice. For my main meal I ordered the Alaskan King crab that came with one corn and one potato. I realize the Alaskan King crab is expensive but when they brought out food I literally got one king crab leg. And one small potato. And they wanted to charge me $25 for this. I would've at least expected to at least get three legs. The one I got wasn't even that big. I expressed my concern to the waitress who said she would get the manager. The manager wouldn't come over because she said he doesn't speak English and not only that but it's very hard for her to communicate with him. I sent the food back and ordered something else. I've only ever done takeout, the food is good. It is very flavorful and you can customize for what you want. There are also combination platters that I'm more cost-effective. My go to order is usually the king crab legs with boiled corn, eggs, sausage. Everything is steamed (boiled) together and doused in my choice of a garlic butter sauce. The everything sauce is also amazing it is a little of each sauce mixed together. I love their fried shrimp. It is large shrimp not mini ones. I've also had their Cajun fried rice which is fried rice with the sausage in it. Love it! Seafood is expensive so expect to pay accordingly but not too much above market rate honestly! read more

They got the taste on point 2 the max!!! The crab legs are sooo small, that the amount of money that you spend just doesn't add up. Some of the crab legs have barley any meat in them as well. Various combinations and sides and be had, all of which (including the beverages) is served in cheap fast food style disposable vessels which is about as environmentally friendly as a coal mine. I would have rated them higher except they don't have a liquor license, so no booze with your seafood. Also, we ordered the calamari appetizer and is was blatant that it came from a bag, frozen...rings only :/ They were overcooked and rubbery. Not worth the $11. They also didn't have a fresh in-house marinara sauce. What seafood place doesn't make their own dipping sauces in house?
