Very yum! You can pick any sauce and any meat and vegetables. We got slightly spicy sauce, it was very good with rice. The stinky tofu also tastes good just can be crispier outside. The wuhan sesame noodles are very peanuty. I love the dry pot the most!

Tasty Dining is the spot to hit when you're craving a spicy mala dry pot in SGV. It's a little different from the DIY malatang setups--everything comes out in one giant pot meant for sharing, which honestly makes it more fun (and dangerous if you over-order price wise). You still get the best part though: customizing your toppings and proteins exactly how you want. Service here is incredible. The staff were super attentive and patient, walking us through the menu and making sure we got the right combo, which was super helpful since it was our first time trying it. For 2 people, I'd recommend going with the large, since you get to choose two proteins. We defaulted to beef based on other reviews, but surprisingly, the fish fillets were the standout--super soft, tender, and they really soak up all that mala flavor. If you're newer to mala, level 2 spice is the sweet spot, you'll get that signature numbing heat without it being overwhelming. Ambience-wise, it's casual, clean, and lively. Great for a relaxed meal with friends where you can take your time and share dishes. Only downside: it can get a bit pricey once you start adding all the extras toppings, so just be mindful when customizing. Also, don't skip the pumpkin cakes. They were chewy, lightly sweet, and a perfect side to balance out the spice. They come with 6, so definitely share.

Located in plaza Plenty of parking or parking lot Fast service Tried the spicy hot pot with fish Big portion size of the fish Spiciness adjustable and fragrant flavor Pairs well with rice Also had a seafood flavor dry pot with beef. Not as much protein and quantity as desire. They do have some wild bamboos throwed into the mixture. More of a sweet dish less so spicy. Corn was good addition. The heat in fire will go out sooner with this dish. So the food could get cold quicker. Advised to eat while hot. Love the mix of cauliflower in the sauce Good place to come for a family style meal Make sure they eat spicy though

My first time here. Its a savory sauce hot pot instead of soup. Its not quite stir fry but something in between. The food itself was pretty decent. I got the small hotpot and it was a little lacking for the cost. I think you get the most value if you share a larger pot. I, supposedly, added a tofu and bean curd side dish to my order but it never came. So when I brought it up to the server, I think she said (they mostly speak mandarin here) is that it was in the dish. I didnt even notice it. Thats how little I got of the "side" dishes. I also thought side meaning they would put it on the side of my hotpot. I guess not. So, overall, they charged us 4 and 5 dollars for the sides that we didnt even notice was there if it was in the pot. So I would say it was not worth it. Overall, 4 stars for the taste of the sauce but losing some stars because of the confusion and value for what you get and pay for.

Tasty Dining is so good! If you're looking for authentic food, this is the place to do it with World Class service. My girlfriend and I spontaneously decided to try it and were not disappointed. We got the medium dry spicy pot and it was BOMB. 5/5 You can't come to the 626 without trying this place! Workers are so so nice

Tasty Dining on Valley Blvd in San Gabriel offers a unique menu featuring Sichuan- and Wuhan-style dry pot dishes that come standard with potato, cauliflower, celery, and soybean sprouts. You choose your protein, flavor, and spice level. I highly recommend the grilled whole fish--incredibly aromatic, packed with bold flavor, and perfect for sharing between two people. The kimchi spam fried rice on the side absolutely hits and is a must-order. The interior is a total vibe with cool decor and artwork, and the staff is friendly and helpful throughout the experience. Overall, a standout spot for flavorful, satisfying Chinese cuisine. Highly recommend.

Having been in Los Angeles for over 13 years, whenever I crave dry pot, Tasty Dining immediately comes to mind. I've tried many spots, but this one is consistently good -- always fresh, high-quality ingredients and generous portions. Dry Pot Pricing * $38 Large -- serves 3-4 people * $27 Medium -- serves 2-3 people Choose from lamb, beef, chicken, organ meats, vegetables, and mushrooms -- customize it exactly the way you like. It was also my first time trying their viral spicy grilled fish Different spice levels available, and the portion is just as big as their dry pot. 13年洛杉磯老店,水準一直保持。 肉類、菜、菌選擇多,仲有水煮魚,大份又抵食。 IG: socalhkfoodies

Great food and service! Come back here again today I always order the fish!!! A bit on the spicy side!

It's been awhile since I've had time to come back. Luckily I was off today and came here with my family for lunch. This place is still legit as before. The flavors are on point as well as the spicy level. I still ordered the grilled fish because I think that's one of their best dishes. I also tried their new seafood sauce with the griddle cooked beef. The dry pot is very well flavored and a good option for those who can't eat spicy like kids.i really enjoyed adding the eggplant, corn, and quail eggs. The while bamboo shoots were also something new that I haven't tried before and it was pretty good too. The pricing is still very reasonable and theses two dishes can feed 4 people no problem. We still had some leftover to take home for a second round. Service was quick and staff was friendly. This is such a great spot for those who love spicy food.

Found a solid lunch spot when I was craving dry hot pot in LA. I always thought malatang or dry pot would easily be $30+ per person, but their lunch small dry pot is only $16.69. It comes with one choice of meat and four sides, including potatoes, cauliflower, celery, and bean sprouts, so it was actually very filling for one person. I got the mild spicy level, and it was already flavorful with a nice numbing kick. The restaurant itself is not fancy, but the food is consistent and satisfying. Definitely a great lunch option if you work nearby or just want a good spicy meal.

This is our first time. The restaurant is clean but a bit small with limited amount of tables. It is not conducive for big groups. Parking can be difficult as it's located in a busy plaza with lots of eateries. Thankfully there's underground parking. We ordered through a QR code from our table. It takes the pot a while to come out. We ordered the catfish. It was delicious! We ordered a medium (rather than a large) sized which was perfect for the two of us. Thankfully we ordered mild spicy. It tasted yummy. The dry hot pot had potatoes, bean sprouts, cauliflower- like veggies, celery, and garlic. The catfish was a good amount. Rice was not included. The menu has a great selection of side dishes to complement the pot, but we didn't order any because the pot was plenty for us. We will have to return to try the other dry hot pots.

Great spot in San Gabriel for spicy Chinese food. We ordered the griddle pot with chicken wings and squid and it was super flavorful and nicely spicy. The grilled fish in chili broth was also really good -- the fish was tender and the broth had a lot of flavor. The pumpkin cakes were a nice surprise too, crispy outside and soft inside. Good portions and great for sharing with friends. Would definitely come back.

Best dry pot in LA, especially the bullfrog, very Fresh! Highly recommended!

Great place to eat dry pot. Food is good Great place for dry pot! The food was flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The dry pot had a nice mix of spice and seasoning, and everything tasted really good. I'd definitely come back again for a casual and tasty meal.

Food is really good and served fast.

And the Alhambra location's Dine LA set was $72, the cost is slightly different based on location. We joined the waitlist via Yelp ahead of time. Long lines on a Friday night, and since it was the last day of Dine LA. Impressive dumplings 7/10: boiled well, good texture of the wrappers. The filling seemed to be only pork, no veggies, which would have been nice if there was more flavor from vegetables. The sauce was mildly spicy and mildly numbing, slight sesame flavor. String beans 8/10: wok hei flavor and savory. Could have had more garlic flavor and crispier texture of the beans. Din tai fung beans are still #1 for me! Mini lamb skewer 7/10: strong cumin flavor which I liked. The lamb was a bit dry/lean, could've used some pieces with more fat Boiled fish in pickled vegetable 8/10: fish cooked well, flaky and soft. Sour soup was balanced. Vermicelli inside Fried rice 9/10: yummy wok hei flavor Not included in Dine LA deal: Shredded potato 7.5/10: good texture of the potato, not overcooked or undercooked. We ordered the sour/vinegar flavor, it came out smelling vinegary, but didn't have much vinegar taste, mostly spicy. Definitely Sichuan style leaning Sweet potato taro ball dessert 10/10: free dessert if you follow them on Instagram and DM them (see menu photo I posted). Crispy outside which stayed crispy even as it cooled down. Sweet potato and taro were cooked well, smooth, and strong in flavor, not artificial. Not too sweet. The fish was super tender and soft, and honestly pretty addictive to eat. The Toothpick Lamb was pretty much the same--you just pop one in your mouth and then immediately want another. It had a nice salty, spicy flavor that made it really easy to keep eating. The only downside is, well, the toothpicks! They definitely slow you down. I also really enjoyed the Mapo Tofu.
