My go to noodle place. Good noodles. You come for the noodle soul not the ambiance. No alcohol though they do have a drink selection

This restaurant has been around for a while. And they put out a lot of tables and chairs in this alleyway after covid 19. A friend and I tried it again recently and the flavor is okay. You order a soup base and then you can pick a type of noodles you want from their menu. I find the knife peeled noodle(add an extra $1 for this) has the best texture.

Pretty crowded, not sure if it's because it's a touristy instagram spot or if I'm missing something. We were sat downstairs in the basement, which was a cramped messy space with only a few tables. It looked more like a storage/employee room than space for customers. Saying that because several employees came down there to get supplies out of closets and put their personal belongs into a locker next to the tables. Not only turned off by that but also seeing wired off rat holes. The service was decent. As far as the food, you can tell the noodles are freshly made and the veggies seem fresh as well. The broth was just ok. Definitely not worth the instagram hype in my opinion.

Lovvvvvvve this place! They know my order by heart lol which is pan fried shrimp dumplings. Super friendly & you can sit wherever you want. The food is so good here & walking distance from my job (which makes it even better) but I've also tried their ramen, lowmein, fried rice & something else (can't remember rn) but it's all fresh & delicious.

My friends and I were looking for a place to eat on a Saturday night. I was surprised that they were opened so late since a lot of places close early in Chinatown! Note: they are cash only!! All the tables outside were full. There was 1 open table so my friends and I went in with the AC (thank god). We tried making eye contact a few times with any servers and finally got to place our order. We got: - chicken dumplings: very good and big dumplings - chicken pan fried noodles (wide noodles) - tofu pan fried noodles (wide noodles): my friends annoyed this - beef hand pulled noodle soup: broth was super good! But the beef slices were okay, I prefer a beef cubes like in Taiwanese beef noodle soup We ordered scallion pancakes too but it never came out and we weren't charged for it. I would come back if I needed a bite to eat and was in the area that late.

Delicious! I had the hand pulled fried noodles with duck. Those noodles were delicious. Thick, warm, added chilly oil so slightly oily but so much flavor!!! I want more, I'm a fan!!!

ROAST DUCK NOODLE SOUP AND THE NOODLES ARE SO TASTY AND HAND-PULLED. we were outside , the place is always so busy but the food was decently quick to be served :) noodles were delicious, wasn't the biggest fan of the duck but that's on me for ordering it without knowing what it tastes like. went with family and would love to go back :)

I used to eat here all the time a few years ago, and it looks like the prices have doubled since then while the quality has dropped a little. I decided to come for dinner around 6pm on a weekday and had no trouble finding a seat--the outdoor seating area is nice when the weather accommodates, and adds to the rustic/no-frills atmosphere. The noodle soup, though, just wasn't that tasty for $15-17, especially given the bounty of other food options in Chinatown. I got the "one house special noodle soup," which came with beef, tripe, and a fried egg on top. Everything tasted fine, but the broth was pretty one-note, verging on bland, and I did have to add some chili oil to improve the flavor. The portion is huge, which is a plus, and service is fast, so this could be a good option if you're looking to sit down somewhere and want something soupy and quick.

I ventured to tasty hand pulled noodles to meet up with a friend for dinner tonight. This is a go-to casual spot for my company and we were nearby, so I figured I'd drop in again with her. It was a nice day, so there was plenty of outdoor seating which was really nice. This is a really "no-frills" joint, it's super lowkey, but that's part of the charm. You don't really go here for be aesthetic and while the service is always good, their role seems to moreso be one or efficiency, rather than personable hospitality, which is fine. We ordered some shrimp fried dumplings ($7.50), which were good. I especially liked them with the dumpling sauce which I kind of drenched them in. They were nice and crispy. As an entree, I ordered the pan fried chicken noodles ($13.50) which I really enjoyed. They were nicely fried and oily. I also really appreciate how the servings are big enough here to have leftovers, my favorite. Unfortunately, my friend wasn't thrilled by her beef and peppers which she said was lacking some flavor.

Don't be turned off by the exterior appearance. The place looks clean. The noodles are made in premise and delicious in that they're not mushy. The beef was tender. The dumplings are large. The service was non nonsense. We loved it!

this place was such a great vibe! came on a warmer fall sat night with some friends, and the street was packed with people dining on plastic stools and tables. it's low frills and super fun. the service was very quick and the dumplings (steamed and fried) were a big hit with our group. I also enjoyed their house special beef noodle soup, as well as the pan fried beef noodles (unfortunately didn't get the greatest pictures in the dark!). prices also can't be beat! would come back again.

    Andrew K.

Exactly what I wanted from this place is what I got. No frills, tons of options, easily accessible noodle joint. We grabbed some steamed dumplings that were full of meat. Were they the best? No but they did the job and were very plump. Grabbed knife cut beef noodle soup that was delicious. The meat was surprisingly flavorful and there was a solid amount of it. The noodles were chewy in the best way. And the service was exceedingly quick (could not have taken more than 5 minutes for either dish to appear). The door says cash only but they do take credit card.

Being in Chinatown, you have to try some hand pulled noodles. It was a cold day outside, so it was a perfect time for broth! The interior was something that takes me back to when times were easier, and the smells delighted me, as it reminded me of some delicious home cooking. Service was quick, prices are reasonable, and the portions were large! Def can share a bowl between two people :) highly recommend the roasted duck

Ask the Community - Tasty Hand - Pulled Noodles

Are there still outdoor seats here? Mott St used to have outdoor dining but they were all removed so wondering if still available here.

Yes, seating outside is available. We dined here because we had our dog with us to be able to seat ourside.

Are there vegan options available here?

    Yes

    Do they take credit cards?

    No. Cash only

    Is there outdoor seating?

Yes, good outdoor seating (a few individual rooms with their own tables and air conditioning, as well as a few tables out in the open street)

    Is the restrooms available?

    Yes

    Do they have wine?

    No.

    Is there a bathroom?

    Yes, it's janky.

If I have a party of five or six, do I have to make a reservation?

It's rather small place and casual. They most likely don't take reservations but it'd be courtesy to let them know ahead your coming as a group of six. They probably only have about 20 seats total in there

Do they have tomato and fried egg hand pulled noodles?

me thinks not - they all look the same coming out of the kitchen

    Do they have highchair?

    Yes

Just wondering, do you tip here? I have done so about 50% of the time but I'm not sure if it's expected.

It's really so variable. My friends and I have always tipped a bit in the tip jar in the front.

    Is it a byob restaurant?

Nope. But the beers are cheap like 3$.

I hadn't been to EDH in a while and was happy to see they do have later hours (with a smaller late night menu). The place was pretty busy at 10:00 PM last Saturday, with a wide range of diners, which is good for business. The food though, at least that night, was really disappointing. My friend had the chicken dumplings. He said they were okay. I thought they were overcooked. My steamed shrimp shumai were fine, but steamed, they didn't have much flavour. The edamame, on the other hand, had way too much when it should have almost none. I don't know if it was excess salt, MSG or something else, but not good. I should have sent them back. I hope this was just an off night for the kitchen.
