I ordered in person and was quoted a 35-minute wait time. I gave them 40 minutes, but my rice roll wasn't even close to being ready. When I ordered, they were on order #17 and I was #29. When I came back 40 minutes later, they had only reached #22 because they were prioritizing all the online orders over the people standing right in front of them. They clearly cannot handle the online volume they are taking on, and it completely neglects in-person customers. I only got a straight answer when I finally demanded a refund. Only then did they check with the kitchen, who said it would be *another* 15 minutes. Who has over an hour to wait around for a rice roll? I felt terrible for everyone else stuck waiting whose breakfast basically turned into lunch. The only reason this is 1 star instead of 0 is that the cashier lady/owner was very polite and gave me my money back without an issue when I requested it. But overall, this place does not respect people's time.

West Rice Roll King surprised me with how good such a simple dish could be. Got the shrimp rice noodles with chili sauce and it was honestly one of my favorite quick meals during the trip. The rice rolls were soft, fresh, and thin enough that they stayed light instead of getting too heavy after a few bites. The chili sauce added a nice kick without overpowering the shrimp. Small and casual shop, but the prices were solid and the food came out fast. Definitely one of those spots I'd come back to again and probably order even more next time.

Best rice rolls I've ever had. So soft and only $4.95 before tax for the curry fish ball rice rolls. Many sauces and chili oils to enhance the flavor. Staff is efficient and you can see the rolls being made. Limited seating and ask for napkins to wipe the countertop as they have too much turnover to do it. Can eat there on one of 5 bar stools. Cash only. Hole in the wall type place but so good.

Got there 5 min before closing 7pm so only take out. This place is solid for rice rolls. I got the scallion and dried shrimp ($5 plus tax). Fresh. Tasty. Ample sauces. Clean Cash only. I ate at a park Bench across the st. They said Roast pork is their most popular

This shop is very small and there was a lot of people waiting around, so it was really tight. I got the beef roll and had to wait a while. When I picked up my order, the cashier told the people ordering that it will be a45 min wait. Beef noodle roll (5/5): Very thin sheets.it just tasted comforting as it wasn't too thick. Will probably come back if there isn't a long wait I.

Super solid and cheap rice rolls. At $5 each, this place allows anyone to try sweet or savory rice rolls without having to go to a dim sum restaurant which I think is cool. I am personally a huge fan of shrimp rice rolls and I thought that these were pretty good, the shrimps are pretty big and the rice layering is quite thick which allows it to soak up the sauce (self serve) nicely. However, some of the pieces of shrimp fell out of the rice rolls which meant that it wasn't folded properly, so I have to dock some points for that. Keep in mind that this establishment is cash only. Service is fast and there are some spots inside to eat, albeit it is quite cramped and the place does not necessarily feel great to stay in. It's a great spot for a quick snack in manhattan, but nothing beyond that. 4.2/5

Wow, the thinness of these rice rolls are spectacular and I would 100% recommend to anyone who has a rice roll craving that this is the best spot in NYC. I got the mixed sauce rice noodle which is probably the best one imo. Vegan; with no fillings but the peanut and hoisin sauce is just a fabulous combo. At $4 pretax, this is a great deal. Would recommend eating in person while it's piping hot though it's a very small and tight spot. Definitely douse the already sauced up noodle with the sweetened soy and chili oil in the dining area. Space is super tight and expect a wait - just be patient! Also cash only. Note : the menu says you can get one free add on of either scallion, lettuce, or bean sprout. In my hurry to order I forgot about this and the person taking my order did not ask if I wanted any. Just a heads up in case you do want a free topping!

This is a place we wanted to check out during our NYC trip. The best thing about it to me was the fascinating process that is used to make the rice rolls. The cook is so fast and fluid in his use of the specialized gear. I uploaded a short video to show this. It took them about 20 minutes to mae out order even though they have such great cooking throughput. They're just busy with orders. The texture of the noodle is great and the taste was good, but maybe just not to my taste. It was a bit of curry flavored filling. I think I'd get the regular pork or shrimp next time. That said, still good.

Might become my new favorite rice roll place. The rice roll is light and thin filled with a lot of meat. I got combo A which comes with three type of meat. Service was super fast even though there was a lot of people. Price is fairly cheap but they take cash only. A pretty good spot!

Nice lady working up front and there is one guy making these rice rolls to order. Super fresh and delicious. Large portions for a great price. Cash only!!!! Very nice people and minimal seating inside.

I tried the basic rice rolls served with soy sauce, sweet sauce, and sesame sauce. Service was quick and it was really satisfying eating it on a cool rainy day.

Cash only rice roll spot that's convenient and fast. Small interior with wall seats. Good cheap eats

Delicious rice rolls! We got the Pork and Scallion, and Egg and Cilantro rice rolls. The excellent thinness is really what sets it apart, so good. Sweet soy sauce and the chili oil were definitely required too. I felt the meat was a necessary component and the cilantro was occasionally overpowering due to it being coarsely cut. The rice rolls complemented the roasted meats we got at Wah Fung half a block away (recommend too!!). Cash-only. You must order more than 45 mins ahead to get your food on time, especially during peak dining times or the weekend

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

"How 'bout there?" he responded pointing to Excellent Dumpling House. It was directly across the street. I pulled up Yelp, saw good reviews and readily agreed. At 3:30, the restaurant was empty. There were a few takeout orders, but we were the only people sitting down for late lunch. And y'know ... it was pretty good. Wonton soup is what I'd expect in Chinatown. Wonton wrappers were thin -- my preference -- the stuffing delicious and the broth flavorful. They were generous with the beef in our chow fun. Good, but the noodles needed a jolt. So I asked for soy sauce which was sort of a solution. Shrimp with vegetables was great. A lot of shrimp, too. There are lunchtime specials on weekdays, reasonable prices, and nice people work there. Next time it makes sense to try dumplings since it is, after all a dumpling house.

Located within the historic Chelsea Market building--a former Nabisco factory where Oreo cookies were first produced--the restaurant feels theatrical in the best possible way. The soaring ceilings, dramatic lighting, and energetic atmosphere create a sense of occasion from the moment you walk in. It feels less like simply going out to dinner and more like stepping into a beautifully staged production. I started with a Botanist Gin Martini with a twist, which paired wonderfully with the meal. The surprise star of the evening was the new Cucumber Tiger Salad. The balance of flavors was exceptional: bright acidity, a pleasant touch of heat, and just enough mint to make each bite feel fresh and exciting. Every so often the mint would come through and suddenly all the flavors would click together in a way that made me immediately want another bite. This is a dish I would happily order again. Next came the Edamame Dumplings. They were delicate and comforting, especially when enjoyed with the accompanying broth. The broth adds depth and richness that elevates the entire dish. My only suggestion would be the slightest touch more salt, perhaps even a finishing sprinkle of black volcanic salt for both flavor and presentation. I also found myself wishing there were a bit more of that delicious broth because it contributes so much to the overall experience. For my entrée, I ordered the Glazed Alaskan Black Cod, and it absolutely lived up to its reputation. The fish was rich, buttery, and perfectly prepared. What impressed me most was how thoughtfully the accompaniments were composed. The pickled cucumbers brought brightness, acidity, and crunch, while the black bean and eggplant relish delivered deep savory notes and unexpected complexity. I'm generally not an eggplant fan, but this relish was outstanding. The cucumbers and relish sit at opposite ends of the flavor spectrum, yet both somehow make the cod even better. Looking back, I think a glass of Sauvignon Blanc alongside the cod would have been the perfect pairing. I finished with the Miso Caramel Milk Bar, which was spectacular. Decadent, sweet, salty, and touched with just enough umami to keep every bite interesting. The chocolate crumble underneath added a wonderful crunch that contrasted beautifully with the creamy ice cream and luscious caramel sauce. Every component worked together perfectly, creating a dessert that was both indulgent and sophisticated. From start to finish, the meal felt polished, thoughtful, and memorable. Thank you!
