I also tried the lobster pot in the original soup base but wasn't a huge fan because the broth was not flavorful. I tried the popcorn chicken today too and it was so good! What can I say, Tasty Pot is just the best! If I had to give up all but one restaurant food, then Tasty Pot would be our choice. We've been enjoying Tasty Pot even before the pandemic. It was also one of our favorite to order from during the pandemic. We have to have our fix! When restaurants were back, Tasty Pot was the first we went back to (we had to sit outside!) and been going there weekly, even during the heat of summer. I think the staff know us by now too- they are always very attentive and the food is always consistently good. i like the beef pot, but lately also enjoy the curry with my hubby. My bro in law always order the Seafood but with szechuan soup. We just found out you can switch soups for a small fee!!! We've tried the calamari (one of the best we've had esp with the spicy powder), as well as the popcorn chicken and takoyaki. Calamari is our favorite pairing with the soups. They also give you extra broth, so in case you don't finish the generous serving, you can take it home with extra soup. Needless to say, we always look forward to Fridays because Friday is our Tasty Pot day! Beware, in winter time or rainy season, there will surely be a line outside! We both ordered the beef hot soup as this was their most popular on the menu. Let me tell you -- this was BOMB. Excellent flavor, comes with rice or noodle on the side. Plus you can add extras (we wanted more fish balls). It comes over a small flame, which keeps your food bubbling for a while. If you need to tone it down, the waiters can help you adjust the heat. This was our first time trying Tasty Pot, though we go to many restaurants in this strip mall. The fam really liked it, so we will definitely be back a lot. It was interesting ordering off the iPad for the first time, because we were kinda left to figure it out. It took me a while, lol because we kinda had a big order. Everything was super fun, and the different bowls came out simmering hot with super flaming charcoals in the chafing dish below. We didn't expect that, and it was awesome. I'm just taking one star off because they were kinda out of many of the things we wanted to add. They were out of all milk teas, we ordered extra lobster, and they were out, and we ordered 2 seafood bowls in Miso broth, and they had no crab, and we couldn't add the extra orders of crab for everyone else. I bet if they had those things, they would've really blew our minds and we would've been back again during the same week. We ordered 2 lobster pots, and though there was no crab, it was still very beautiful looking when it arrived. We also ordered 2 seafood miso bowls, and they also lacked crab. That was a bummer, and I wish the shrimp was shelled, because my girls don't feel comfortable eating shrimp when they have their cute little shrimp heads looking at them, with those round button eyes. ***sigh*** I get it, but we gotta work on that because they're missing out. i don't suggest the beef broth bowl, it was very thick and had a strong and unpleasant grainy flavor and texture. My kiddo still ate it, but left so much behind. When you order additional beef, they come out already cooked, which was very convenient, because I didn't want it to be undercooked over the flame. Everyone had fun, and we didn't realize we were going to each get a lovely tower like boiling pot! Our individual bowls were steaming all over the place and it was pretty cool. Added bonus, we didn't come out smelling like crazy beef or seafood marinade and smoke, the way we usually do when we get hotpot or k bbq, or teppanyaki! Lastly, they have these maven's ice cream filled macarons at the front, and even though my kiddos were super full from their dinner, they absolutely loved topping it off with those frozen macarons. I love the soup and portion sizes are so filling, with a diverse set of ingredients. I'm also a huge fan of the garlic soy sauce.
