My family enjoyed eating here! We were seated and asked to scan a QR code to order from the menu. I was very pleasantly surprised with not only the details of the interior of the restaurant-- but with the details on the menu as well. There were icons displaying if a particular soup base contained nuts as well as spice levels. It was super helpful to be able to keep that in mind, as without them I would have gladly ordered the beef or lamb base without a second thought! When our orders arrived (pretty quick wait time), my family was happy we each had individual hotpots to enjoy solo-style. As expected, the hotpot was super hot and it took us a while before we realized we could rotate the metal cap and cover the fire to stop it. In the past, I burned my tongue before eating hotpot and struggled with the effects for an entire week. So best believe I was extra careful this time around! Eating the dish taught me to be patient and not try to eat the food quickly (no matter how tasty it smelled or looked). On another note, the soup bases were all very delicious! My mom remarked that even with no spice at all, her soup was still very flavorful. We got the kimchi, thai, curry, and beef soup bases. Depending on your tolerance for spice, I'd say to maybe try your soup with no spice at first. The mild already had me and my boyfriend gasping for air because that spice builds on you! I was thinking it was like ramen where you could handle a mild! Haha so keep that in mind. We all got iced green tea (nice and sweet!) and that complemented our soups very well. I loved how it tasted and there's no free refills for the green tea so savor that first cup you get. We also had a delicious appetizer: the fried calamari. It didn't look TOO plentiful so there was that but each piece of fried squid was delicious. The exterior had a thin fried crip and the interior was nice and chewy. It was perfect to eat while taking a break from hot soup. Anyways, it was a very pleasant experience and my family all enjoyed it well. We had the lunch pricing and chose items that we were okay with price-wise. The prices were very reasonable. In my 2 day visit there, I have tried I think about 7 items in their menu and they were all very good. So tasty and delicious. They earned the right to be called tasty pot. Cheesy milk, taiwanese supreme, lobster seafood, thai hot pot, calamares, and takoyaki, they were all equally good. But the hot pot that stand out the most for me is the lobster seafood hot pot. You can add more items into your hot pot for an extra charge. Portions are big too. 2 people can even share a pot especially the large ones. Their soup base are so good and they are refillable. Just ask the crew for a refill. The place is very clean. Staff are really friendly and nice. Pricewise very reasonable and affordable. Best hotpot in the Valley! Here's our experience: Picking this spot was a change from our usual hotpot places around San Gabriel Valley, like Pasadena and Arcadia. Luckily, it was their grand opening when we visited, and they had a promotion offering free drinks for every pot. The restaurant was bustling, and we signed up for the waiting list around 6:30 pm. Fortunately, the wait for two people was relatively short, around 35 minutes. Once inside, we were pleasantly surprised that we didn't have to wait for a server to take our order. Instead, we used a QR code on our table to scan and place our order, a convenient feature that I believe more restaurants should adopt. It allowed us to customize our hotpot to our liking directly from our phone. The ordering process was simple: Step 1 - Choose your pot. Step 2 - Choose a spice level from none to flaming spicy. Step 3 - Choose rice or vermicelli, with an option to substitute instant noodles for $1.50. We ordered two beef hotpots, one with no spice and the other mild, along with an extra add-on of beef slices and instant noodles. For drinks, we ordered Thai Milk Tea and Hokkaido Milk Tea which were good. The hotpots were excellent & delicious, and I can confidently say they rival or even surpass those at Boiling Point. The servers were friendly, refilled our pots with broths, and helpful in answering our questions. We look forward to returning to this place and are delighted to have another GREAT hotpot option in the San Fernando Valley. I came here with mom and dad on a cold rainy day. Man, did the hot pot hit the spot. The woman at the counter sat us right away and was extremely helpful with navigating the menu. I LOVE TASTY POT! A good friend introduced me to this restaurant and I've been 3 times in the last 3 weeks! I've been on a lifestyle change and have lost a considerable amount of weight. So Tasty Pot was perfect for me. So far, I've had the Sichuan Flavor Hot Soup, Beef Hot Soup, Healthy Veggie Soup, and the Thai flavor Soup. All are so healthy and very flavorful. Upon entering, I noticed that the restaurant was fairly clean and plenty of seats. I ordered the beef pot which was around 18$. Nice Taiwanese hot pot place in the Valley! Love that they have an extensive soup base options with various different combinations of meat and vege in each base. We tried the lamb and tomato. Both were really nicely flavored! We also ordered the popcorn chicken as appetizer, which was very tasty, met our Taiwanese taste buds standards. They also offer some boba drinks options but we didn't try any. There were quite a lot of seats but I don't think they have enough server so even though there were still empty table, we saw multiple groups waiting to get seated. However, the boba had a watery taste and the boba itself were old and hard to chew. The servers were very attentive and brought everything out fast. It was honestly just ok. Food was ok. Service was good but so slow. Maybe it is because they just opened and are understaffed but they were missing half their menu items when I went around dinner time. They were missing their Taiwanese, lamb, and curry. Maybe a few more but these were the ones I was interested in. The broth was not flavorful. It was salty and plain. The miso tasted nothing like miso (I think the miso paste clumped up at the bottom..) The mala soup was probably the best one here but they got my order wrong and after waiting a long time to be served on a busy night, I did not want to ask for the correct order. I asked for extra spicy but received the regular spicy mala. The pot has lots of toppings, those are good. The sauce containers at our table were almost out and since they were so busy, we did not want to ask for a refill. I hope their management becomes better over time.. I understand they are understaffed so 3 stars for the friendly service despite being rushed by other tables. Food is ok. Maybe it will be better when they are not being rushed. It's like most hot pot places you order with a QR code which makes it convenient. We both ordered the mild curry hot pot sub beef instead of pork. It was yummy, just very spicy for me. I usually get mild at other hot pot places but I got spiced out for sure on this one. It could be the curry, but it did taste good too. You can order extra add ons- we did quail eggs. Service was kind of slow, but this place just opened so it might improve later on as they get busier! There was only one person working when we arrived so it took a bit of time to get cups of water. Then I noticed a second employee arrive and help us. The restaurant is by CSUN so there were many students having dinner there. It's a pretty big restaurant with plenty of seating. I got the beef pot without any seafood. I like how you can alter your soup just the way you want it. If you want the beef pot with a different soup base you can change it for $1. The restaurant is spacious and they have booths and tables. The ambiance is nice and bright! You order from your phone--which as an introvert I really appreciate lol. We ordered the popcorn chicken appetizer -- delish! There's 12 hot pots to choose from but they're all customizable: you can choose level of spice, substitute meats, add or remove some toppings, etc. I got the Japanese Miso and subbed the pork with beef for an additional charge. The soup base was ok, it wasn't my favorite miso I've tried, but wasn't bad either. Service was so so good! They're very attentive without being overbearing and they were so nice.
