My boyfriend and I used to be regulars here, so it pains me to write this. We miss the old menu style. They changed their menu to AYCE with unlimited veggies & add ons. They have different tiers for the meats. We got the most expensive one, and the meats were super fatty and tough. Also I know this is preference, but the cuts were waaay too big. You don't have scissors or anything to cut the meat smaller so it's awkward taking bites of a big chunk of meat. When the broth got brought to our table, it was cold and they had forgotten to add the flammable gel to it. Even after warming it up for us, it took forever to reach a boil Mind you, the pots don't have a way to adjust the temperature. Once the flame goes out, you need to ask them to light it again. The servers were so busy with other tables that they didn't check up on us. We got unlimited appetizers with our tier of meat, we got the popcorn chicken and it was okay. Like other reviews have said, I don't know where all these positive reviews are coming from. I'm assuming they're buying them or asking family or friends to write them. Super cute aesthetic with these large booths and a pretty ceiling. I appreciated the simple yet nice decor. We were led to our booth and instructed to either order through the QR code on the table or with a server, whatever the preference. How to order: pick your base selection, your spice level and whether you want rice or vermicelli. Easy enough. The server also came out with some water and soon enough our orders came. The pots are housed in the typical personal hotpots with the flame thingy (that's the formal term :-D ). I ordered the Veggie with a Thai broth. It was loaded with plenty of vegetables it promised to provide with a tangy sour broth very similar to Filipino sinigang (just for reference with the IYKYK crowd). I enjoyed it and it was light enough that I didn't get a heavy feeling afterward even though I clean-plated it. I chose the vermicelli option, but I do wish they provided more of it. It just felt like such a tiny portion of noodles. Also, shout-out to the server who clocked that my Youngest (he's a young adult, not a child) dropped one of his chopsticks and before we even needed to ask, he just came to our table with a fresh set of chopsticks. Thank god for northridge and tasty pot! The decor inside is super cute and very on theme. Great selection of sauces (my bf loved the satay and the soy garlic hit home for me), really great attentive service even tho u could tell the server was the only one working the floor. We shared the tomato hotpot and calamari. They were both sooo good. Love the spicy salt on the calamari. Maybe bc we have smaller appetites but we found the serving size perfect. NOTE: This review is mainly to voice out my the steamed rice portion serving we always get here. I've already noticed it before but today it felt like it has really gotten less for the price of $1.95 each. It is NOT 1 cup serving but instead 1 small scoop of rice which is equivalent to 1/2 cup of rice only. I hope the owner emget to read this review but we are paying for it so atleast give us the actual "1 cup" of rice serving and NOT "1 tiny scoop of rice". My husband and I went to try hot pot for the first time in the San Fernando Valley. This was the closest location to us in Northridge . We went a little bit earlier in the day to beat the evening rush. Service was great. All the employees were very attentive and answering our questions in regards to how to go about making our hot pot. I love that we can order our food through our phone, and have the ability to make some adjustments to the hot pots. My favorite is the Lamb hot pot and I love getting "flaming hot". Their sauce selection is great and similar to Boiling Point. You also get a free drink if you come for lunch! Parking in this plaza can be challenging but there's usually a few spaces. The veggie pot was pretty bland, but I guess that's expected and it's what my mom wanted. The beef pot was my favorite. The portion size was great and packed to the rim. Got medium spicy, which was on the spicier side and delicious. I got it with the vermicelli noodles. I think the broth is so hot that the noodles disintegrate because I hardly remember eating any form of noodle in my dish. The service was great, they were pretty attentive. We came here with a group of 6 as this is one of my fiancé's grandmother's favorite restaurants. We came on a Tuesday night around 6:45. We were seated right away and it was not busy, the restaurant is big with many tables and booths. I got the curry soup, it comes with rice noodles and is bubbling hot upon arrival. I really liked the egg and waited until it was cooked to my liking to eat it. There was also a good balance of veggies and meats in the soup which I appreciated. I also got a taro tea which was super creamy. Everything was delicious. I did expect the soup to be a little spicier (I got medium spice) but it was otherwise really yummy. Two options on ordering: with the waitstaff or via QRC. QRC was taking too long to load so I waved down the waiter to come over. Our order: Lamb minus the imitation crab, curry, and Japanese miso. Apps: calamari (lightly coated and perfectly fried as they were crispy without a heaviness to them - would've taken a photo of the empty plate but we used it as discards from our hot pots. You don't wanna see that!) and gyoza (eh... nothing to really note). As you can tell, my Lamb was delicious! I got it Medium spice but would've liked a little bit more heat. Added some chili oil, but it's never the same. Music was good. I kept saying how I had a good half of their songs played on my Playlists. Decent amount of seating. They tend to fill up the front and outer seatings first. And not so much the middle. Took about 10-15 minutes to pay the bill though. I think their POS isn't across all tablets?
