    Taiwanese Supreme Spicy Hot Soup
    Julie M.

Ordered the Taiwanese supreme spicy hot soup with a side of vermicelli (free!). I liked the variety of toppings and the flavor of the broth. The toppings are pretty good overall, but the beef slice were really dry... loved the pork blood rice cakes though, surprisingly! I ordered mild and I didn't feel it was spicy at all. The portion was really large and was enough for two meals for me. The default included drink is a sweet tea that is good but too sweet for me. We asked for water as well, and it was nice to have both the tea and water to drink. Service was pretty fast and the place was not busy on a Tuesday night, plenty of seating and nicely spaced out tables!

This location was pretty empty when we visited on a weekend night. Service was decent - they did give us green tea, even though that's usually a lunch only thing at other locations. It's been a while since I've been to a tasty pot, but I did notice new items on their menu. I do like that they expanded the menu, but the price has definitely gone up due to inflation. Food quality was consistent. Overall, I do like this location. Quality is consistent, and ingredient was plentiful. It's closer to me, so I do plan on visiting whenever I'm craving individual pot of soup.

    Japanese Miso Hot Soup

Came here around 5:30 pm with my girlfriend on a Wednesday. Wasn't packed at all, but once we got our food it started getting packed, I would recommend coming during early hours of dinner because it tends to get busy! We walked in, and someone greeted us and pointed to a table we should sit, they offer complimentary Iced Tea, which is super nice. It was a roasted type of tea which I really enjoyed. To order, you scan a QR code on the table, there are many options as well as add ons for your soup! There is a condiment station on the side of every table for chili salt, fish paste, etc. We ordered Sweet Potato Fries, which was super good it had great flavor. We got Popcorn Chicken which was super good and we got it as the spicy option which was super flavorful and they give a pretty good portion to share. We got the Japanese Miso Soup, it was really good, a lot of toppings, meat, seafood, etc. Overall, this place is really good and I recommend if you want some soup!

Tasty Pot is one of my go to spots in the area! This location is in downtown palo alto. When I went on a Friday night around 6pm ish there was a waitlist. I think we waited around 25min to get seated. I always get the hot beef soup, medium spicy. You can pick either vermicelli noodles or rice on the side for free. They also give you free iced tea here as well, which is a bonus that's diff from other tasty pot locations. The popcorn chicken side was tasty and crispy!

First time at this location. My boyf n I are die hard TP lovers but this meal was a little underwhelming:( They took off the cheesy milk soup which was my go to and favorite option :( I was heartbroken. I'm sure that probably wasn't a popular option and possibly why they removed it but that was still my favorite and I don't think I could be a regular here anymore. :,( I ended up getting the Thai soup and my bf always gets the beef. The 3 stars come from the burner being so weak, our soups didn't/barely boiled. That was nuts to me because that's like their gimmick and signature and it didn't even work. However the place is clean, larger than others, and very nice decor. The service is damn immaculate though, I rate that 5 stars. They even give iced tea in like a water jug which was different. Super friendly and on point with checking in. I hope they expand their menu options in the future (tasty pot not this location specifically) and they get better fire burners. Also medium spicy was not spicy at all.

I think the current rating is justified. It's somewhere between 3.5 and 4 stars. The good: excellent service, responsive and courteous. I also like that they don't force extra tips on you with a big group. Food's taste is ok, nothing particularly memorable. Portion is on the smaller side but price is also fairly reasonable. The bad: I think there's some fundamental flaws to the pot design. The fire power is just too weak. The pot takes forever to heat up, some of the ingredients took forever to get cooked (yes the pot came not ready to eat). Overall it's a 3 star for me: I won't come back if it were my call, but I also wouldn't feel bad if someone else were to suggest it.

Cleanest Tasty Pot location. Food was solid it's about $20 for each pot. The lamb pot I had was the right sour flavor from the pickled mustard greens and came with a few clams and imitation crab, meatballs, tofu, lots of Napa cabbage. Would come back!

    taiwanwse supreme spicy hot soup
    Jessica H.

Good hot pot that is served in a bubbling pot, with all the ingredients already cooking inside. If you feel lazy to "cook" your hot pot somedays, this works. I liked the taiwanese supreme spicy hot soup, big flavor and lots of tasty ingredients (pork blood rice cake, tempura, etc). I would have liked if there were more of each piece and a lesser amount of certain items, to make it really focused on the flavor/theme of the pot. Overall though it was enjoyable. The japanese miso hot pot was okay, more of a mild flavor, but still good. Not sure if I would get this one again. The tea served is refreshing and iced, with a bit of sweetness.

    Clam full of sand
    Sky C.

Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hot pot experiences I've had. I received the wrong order and wasn't given the option to change it to what I actually wanted. On top of that, my pot came with clams that were FULL of sand -- clearly not cleaned properly. The broth itself was underwhelming and needed a lot of add-ins just to taste decent. The only dish at our table that was genuinely enjoyed was the sizzling beef plate with udon. The green onion pancake (not pictured, since it came out very late) was extremely doughy, and the calamari was undercooked. It wasn't just me who felt disappointed; most of my table shared the same experience. The positives: the restaurant was clean, nicely spaced, and one staff member...our server, really did his best to fix the ordering issues. His effort to lighten the mood is the main reason I gave this place two stars instead of one.

I really enjoyed my dinner at this Tasty Pot! But it's definitely a little pricier than the other ones because it's Palo Alto. I loved the spicy tofu pot with rice. They also gave us free lightly sweetened iced tea which was so delicious with the spicy pot. I hope they continue to give free tea hehe. I love the fermented bean sauce and soy paste sauce as well. Portions are huge and I'm always super full after. There's a lot of seating and the restaurant is very clean. Staff is great.

Fast, healthy and plentiful ! Excellent location! We enjoyed the Miso seafood pot! Beautiful shrimp, and crab with loads of tofu fish and udon. Beautiful ! @tastypot

I have been going to Tasty Pot for years. I was so excited when they finally open a branch in PA. As I expected, the soup was delicious. I ordered Beef Hot Soup. It came with beef, corn, fish cake, Napa cabbage, You can pick between 2 soup base (sate or tomato). I picked sate soup base. You can pick your carb (rice or vermicelli or ramen with extra cost). The soup is tasty and the ingredients so fresh. Love it!!! The place is nice and clean with good service.

Taichi fish fillet Soup with tomato broth swapped in. Instant noodles $1.50 add-on
    Erika C.

I love a personal hot pot. We ordered three: fish fillet with spicy tomato broth, fish fillet with golden broth (not spicy), and Taiwanese supreme substituted with nonspicy beef soup. I had both the fish fillet with golden (not spicy) and the Taiwanese supreme. I thought the supreme one was more my lane, with a stronger flavor profile. The fish soup was milder, as expected. Depends on what you feel like, and you can always swap out the soup. I did find that the dishes that came didn't quite match the photos - the menu photos show much larger portions of ingredients. The blood for example were two tiny rectangles (like mini Kit Kat bar sized) rather than sizable squares. The pork intestine - I think I saw two pieces. There was plenty of the beef slices though. Good, friendly, fast service but there may be a language barrier with some staff. You can get 3% cashback through Chowbus; you get prompted when ordering through their web menu. I appreciated the free sweet iced tea. No alcohol yet (they said next week they'd have it). I think the now closed Cafe Ophelia in South Bay remains my favorite for personal hot pot and boba drinks. Overall, tasty pot is about a 3.75 for me and a nice addition to the area for a clean, no frills personal hot pot meal. They just started so I'm sure things will get ironed out.

This is truly an honest review and I'm not lowering my score because of the hype. There was a short line however it moved very fast. I ordered: 1. Jasmine Milk tea with boba: I feel like I have to break this review down into two parts because both were on different spectrums. for the Tea: this was excellent. The jasmine flavor was perfect with high quality jasmine tea flavor. The tea was smooth and perfectly sweetened. The initial drink was definitely lived up to the hype. HOWEVER: Boba: ABSOUTELY DISGUSTING. This was by far the worst boba I've ever had. It was mushy and all stuck together like a clump of snot. The boba was totally overcooked and literally stuck into one big piece. I never sucked up individual bobas through the straw and instead it came up stuck together and came all at once. It was worse than the instant boba you can buy in stores and make yourself. Some people may argue that "this is a tea shop not a boba shop" well it's on the menu and I ordered it so they're responsible for the quality of everything on their menu. My friends told me that "in China, they actually serve boba with it and this shop went rogue and is selling it." Again, if it's on the menu, it's fair game to factor in to their review. Overall, the tea is excellent but don't get it with boba. The boba is complete trash and a disgrace to boba. Moreover, if I'm just paying for milk tea, it's not worth $7+.

Thankfully we'd ordered ahead online too and the drink was ready in the quick 5-10 minutes as promised! We didn't spend long inside the store but it was pleasantly decorated with some seating options and kind employee. We tried the Grape Tea with Grape Pulp and Green Tea Jelly and Strawberry Boba with 25% sugar and 0% ice and found it to be plenty sweet. The drink tasted fresh and like white grape, not generic grape juice. The two kinds of toppings were great and provided a little chew - I really liked that the jelly wasn't too sweet and had a light tea aroma, and that the strawberry boba was chewy and reminiscent of the mochi bits you can top your froyo with. Price is pretty typical ~$7.50/drink. The one con was that the drink was served in a paper cup which made it hard for me to ratio the toppings and drink accordingly - at first I couldn't find any toppings, and then I ended up with a bunch at the bottom after I'd finished the drink.
