There were some self serve kiosks & I was able to order on those. Floors were sticky, could hear the noise every time I lifted my feet up. They had some AI posters of their food, which made the food look really creepy tbh. Not confident in the music they played being AI, but the lyrics made no sense and I tried to Shazam it to check but there were no results, so... Food was decent, nothing too unique. It had some crisp, but I prefer an actual layer of crisp. The bulgogi fries were okay. The fries were great, but the cheese tasted "powdery" and the beef was very tough and chewy. The japchae was standard, but the beef was tough and chewy. I think they need to cut up the beef into smaller pieces and tenderize them a bit longer. Overall, it's decent. We were pleasantly surprised to see another Korean fried chicken place open in the Rocklin Roseville area. We ordered a large mixed combo, half-and-half flavor, and a small mix combo half-and-half flavor plus the kimchi, fried rice, bibimbap, and japchae. Our total came out to just over $100, which is great because it easily fed seven people. The Korean fried chicken was pretty good. I think the chicken on the inside was juicy and when you got it fresh the outside was crispy. However, the one thing I do find disappointing is the lack of sauce options. I think I'm used to eating at Korean fried chicken chains that will also offer honey, butter powder, cheese flavors, and a variety of other dry and wet sauces. That being fed the two sauces that they do have are pretty good. I feel like this place is a good intro to Korean fried chicken and is definitely a step above the other more popular chains like Bonchon. However, if you're looking for more unique and interesting flavors, I'd still think that Vons is a better option. But, I do find that this place fries the chicken a little better. The other dishes we got were fine, but nothing really special. I think for this area, it's pretty good, but as where from the Bay Area originally, it didn't really stand out to us. Went to check out this eatery that had a bold signage outside the building. Lots of red color popping inside this fast casual restaurant. Place your order at the kiosk, find a table, and they bring your food to you. The staff that brought us our food, Millie, was very nice and friendly. She even stopped by our table during our meal to check and chat. I had the bao. Although it came in a set of three, it was good except very small portioned and only one kind of protein per order. It would've nice if you could mix the proteins to try them all. We also had the ramen and that was tasty. Although we dined in, our food came in plastic takeout containers. I did noticed that they were using some paperboard boxes for other menu items. Consider switching to eco-friendly alternatives for all dine-in customers would be ideal. read more

I've been meaning to try this place for the longest time but never really had the chance to....on a road trip back from socal, my friend mentioned grabbing something to eat so we finally got the chance to try out Dak Good. I personally have a love hate relationship with KFC....I don't like saucy wings as it usually takes away from the crunch.  In addition, KFC in particular always uses a ton of sugar in their sauces which another thing I personally can do without.  Although the double fry technique keeps the crunch, the flavor quickly becomes tiresome. Dak Good was no different.  There's really only 2 flavors, and after a handful of wings, you get sick of it because you can't really taste chicken, you only taste sauce.  It's not necessarily a problem if you're the type of person that only eats like 5 or something wings in a sitting.  My problem is that I'm a fat piece of shit that eats 20 wings in a sitting. The chicken did, however, remain crunchy throughout the meal...even after re-heating.  The wings themselves are also HUGE.  Reminds me of Costco wings. One major positive is the VALUE that is had.   Most places charge an outrageous $2 PER WING....like why?  You can get wings for as cheap as $2/LB at grocery stores, why is it $2 per wing?  Greed-flation to the fullest. Other items on the menu....average priced I guess. We got 30 wings, an order of the pork belly bao buns and an order of the Buldak. As I mentioned before, the wings were delicious, but the flavor fatigue is real.  They do offer sides with the order, which we got radish with which helps with the fatigue, but a tiny little scoop of radish for 30 wings is laughable. You need the radish to cleanse your palate and it goes quick.  I have a feeling you probably get the same amount of radish even if you ordered only 10 wings. The Buldak has the same problem....One tiny scoop of rice for a whole boat full of saucy chicken.  Imagine getting 4 scoops of orange chicken but 1 scoop of rice.  Why?  Rice is the cheapest thing.  Give me enough rice to at least match the amount of saucy chicken you're giving me.  Also, they top the buldak with pre-shredded mozzarella, which isn't necessary a bad thing, but come on man.  It's cold mozz.  It comes out cold.  You need to mix the whole thing up to get the cheese to melt.  They should either layer the mozz a bit to get it to melt some then lightly top it on top, or hit it with a broiler or salamander before boxing to at least melt the cheese even a little bit. The pork belly baos were just ok....nothing bad but nothing good either.  The equivalent of paying $4 per just average taco. All in all, the flavors were great and overall value was good.  They just need to refine a few things and it would probably be a 5 star place. Definitely worth trying though. read more

And Korean fried chicken is supposed to be crispy...that signature crunch that echoes with every bite. This had none of that magic. The pork belly baos? A soggy situation. The buns were drenched from overly enthusiastic coleslaw, and the pork belly itself was basically playing hide and seek...mostly hiding. Flavor? Missing in action. Look, I don't love writing negative reviews...but when a place has so much hype, expectations come with it. And right now, Dak Good just isn't living up to that buzz. Yaaasss! New Korean fried chicken spot in Roseville and it's actually gooood!! There's another spot that serves Korean fried chicken in Roseville but had it once and it's not good. We always make a drive out to Natomas or Sac for Bonchon. Well this spot is just as delicious!!! I actually like the flavors more!! I ordered over the phone and picked up for take out. The gal was so nice taking our order and when we arrived it was ready on time and got our large order exactly correct. Everything tasted delicious especially the fried chicken. My kids wanted to try the Korean corn dogs which were delicious but my only complaint were they are smaller than other Korean corn dogs we've had but cost more. I recently stopped by Dak Good to give it a try after reading good things. Overall, the experience was decent and the food was good, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The chicken was cooked well, and the sauces had good flavor. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly during my visit. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with the meal, but there also wasn't anything that really stood out and made me eager to come back. As someone who enjoys Korean fried chicken, I still prefer Bonchon. I find the chicken there a bit crispier, and the flavors are more in line with my personal taste. One was showing an old Anthony Bourdain travel show, and the other was playing who knows what?! I think if you're going to have TV's up, it should either be sports, or shows that promote/educate on the type of food of the place. Like how to make fresh kim chee from scratch, or how to make bao, or how to pit together bibimbap. I just feel that would help tie everything in together. If not, it just feels thrown together and a little cheesy! The food was decent for what it was. I actually was cool with their Kim chee, and their bibimbap was aight. There is a balance of sweet and salty. The tteokbokki spice was not a burn your mouth and want milk. However, if you do not have spice tolerance above Sriracha, it could be spicy for you. I appreciated the generous level of cheese and the rice cakes were soft. There was fish cake and even some ramen in it too! The "broth" itself is very flavorful and not just salty tasting. First of all, I just have to say that That Good has some of the best customer service I've ever experienced at an express-style restaurant. I definitely have a few favorites there, and one of them is Millie, the woman with the short hair and glasses. We all know that feeling when a place is busy and everyone seems to be rushing you along, but she was the complete opposite. I thought that was so sweet. I was like, "Oh my gosh, thank you!" Well, I came back a second time, honestly because of her. I was so impressed by the way she treated us. Same routine. Then on another visit, she immediately started naming off my usual order and knew me by name. And yes, here came the cheesecake again. She walks around the restaurant as if it were her own home. She's always checking on things, checking on customers, making sure everyone is okay, and just being very attentive. She's always smiling, greeting everyone happily, and making you feel welcome. And with that being said, the other thing I really love is the food. It is amazing! Especially the bulgogi rice. Crunchy and flavorful, and the spicy flavor had a good kick while still holding the flavor and not being too spicy. We also ordered the pork belly bao buns which were ok. They put coleslaw in it which makes the bun soggy and personally I don't like the mayo flavored coleslaw with Asian flavor, it would have tasted better with a pickled slaw. We also ordered a non-spicy and spicy ramen with the pork belly. It was also ok, nothing above average. We ordered about $69 worth of food and received a free fried cheesecake, which was also just ok. The ambience was subpar. We dined in and everything was brought out in to-go containers which made it a little inconvenient to eat out of. We could possibly come back if we're in the area and in the mood for something quick and snacky but we wouldn't come out of our way. The staff are friendly. Yesterday I was passing through the area and craving Korean food. I found this place on YELP and decided to give it a try. Not sure what I expected, but this wasn't it exactly. I didn't realize it was a chain of Korean "medium" fast food. It wasn't really fast, but everything is freshly cooked and prepared, served piping hot and delicious! The Bulgogi was absolutely delicious! As good as almost any I have ever had. The Badak (spicy chicken) was extremely tasty! Definitely worth a try and repeat order! Food wise , my only complaint was the kimchi as it tasted like the store bought stuff in a jar. Nothing worth having again. The atmosphere is like a typical chain fast food restaurant, except the tables had unique license plates lightly emblazoned in the dark wood tables, with K-Pop music playing, and another TV showing old NFL clips (a little strange and out of place, but I digress). The cashier (who also brought our food to the table) seemed a bit confused when asking questions about ala carte items or specifics re each dish. Maybe he was new or maybe just unsure. Super excited to have this place so close to us. Our first time today we decided to go with soy garlic wings, spicy wings, the porkbelly buns, and japchae. We added the kimchi side which was very good. The entrees and starter pork buns were all delicious. The KFC is more Bonchon double fried than something like Vons. Might just be first time/ recency bias but the chicken was arguably better than those listed. This is totally legit and I declare my allegiance to the good chicken! read more
