Minced Pork W. Olive Vegetable String Bean

I've seen Tasty Spot Cafe many times, but finally trying it for the first time! I'm so glad we finally ate here. We were starving and came on a Friday evening. Parking was plentiful as this restaurant is located in a shopping center where there's a Korean grocery store, Zion Market. We were seated right away. It's a casual atmosphere with a decent amount of tables. I let the server know that it was our first time there. She was doing her best to be helpful to suggest some popular items. Our dinner started off with the wonton soup ($16.95) We chose not to have noodles with it. I intended to order the pork, but what came out was a combination of pork and shrimp in the wontons. The wontons were a good size and had good flavor. There was nothing else that came with it except the broth. No vegetables. I feel like it was a small amount for the price point. Next up, the minced pork with string beans ($18.95) were brought out. The green beans were delicious and not overcooked and still had a crunch to it. The minced pork was seasoned very nicely and complemented the vegetable well. And for the next dish, this was my favorite of our dinner, the two meat combination of barbecue pork and crispy roasted pork ($26.95). The crispy pork was amazing! The outer skin had a nice crunch to it, and there was a good balance of pork and fat. The barbecue pork was sweet and savory. I think we over ordered one dish too many. That's ok because we had some leftovers to take home. Lastly, we had the house special filet mignon ($27.95). This came with a lot of onions and some traces of green bell pepper. I believe it was Thai basil that was part of this dish, which I really liked! The service was nice and attentive, without being intrusive. That usually doesn't happen too often at these restaurants. It looks like they work as a good team. Another server handed us a fork and knife to cut the crispy pork and fillet mignon chunks. That was thoughtful since we didn't ask for it. We really enjoyed our dinner and will be coming back more often!

Tasty Spot Cafe in Irvine, CA Got some craving for homemade tasting food? I found the best one in Irvine! #entrance

As a proud member of the Yelp Elite Squad, I consider it my civic duty, no, my moral calling, to report back on all things edible, delicious, and occasionally life‑changing. And if you've been following my reviews on Yelp for the last six+ years, you already know one thing about me: I don't lie, I don't sugarcoat, and I don't gatekeep good food. If I ever withhold information, it's only because I'm unconscious. So today, I woke up with a craving so specific it felt like a pregnancy symptom: marinated roasted duck. Naturally, I did what any responsible adult would do. I opened Yelp and typed "best roasted duck in Irvine." And boom! The first result? Tasty Spot. Now, I've only been here twice (or it could've been three times) since one of my husband's best friends invited us in when it first opened. We loved it. And listen, my husband is one of the pickiest human beings on planet Earth. This man will look you dead in the eye and tell you to un‑five‑star a restaurant if he thinks your "culinary soulmate" is actually a catfish. He doesn't pull punches; he throws Yelp‑level truth bombs. He's that picky. Which, honestly, explains why he married me, clearly he has impeccable taste. Speaking of me, the ultimate foodie adventurer, (the same one who will drive 50 miles for excellent sushi) said to myself, "Let's go back, girl!" And let me tell you... I did NOT regret it. Not even a little. As your Dating Coach reviewer here on Yelp, I can unequivocally tell you that the universe greeted me in the form of Amy, my server, who was basically the human equivalent of your well‑timed first date: she courteously smiled, was attentive, and patiently answered all my questions without making me feel like I was being "politely tolerated." If you've been stuck in the Burger‑Fries‑Milkshake situationship (since you graduated from Gerber's peas, carrots and spinach mushy food jars), consider this your sign to expand your dating pool, I mean, your DINING pool, and try this place. IS THIS PLACE DATEWORTHY OR NOT? I give it a resounding Yes. Super casual and effortlessly charming. The kind of place where even your mother-in-law would approve. Now, a special shout‑out to Amy...Girl, you're the kind of server who makes a customer want to come back not just for the food, but for the experience. The restaurant itself is spacious, whether you're on a cozy date for 2 or hosting a chaotic party of 20 hungry people, you won't feel boxed in. It has that "big dinner party" vibe without the stress of actually hosting a big dinner party. And the roasted duck? OMG Amy told me it's cooked FRESH every single day, and honestly, the way she wholeheartedly explained it made me think about the giddiness that my girlfriends experience when a man actually texts them back right away. They go through so much marinated duck that I'm convinced this might be the best roasted duck in California. If you're from out of town, your trip here would be so worth it. Yes, I said it. I stand by it. Fight me. I'll absolutely be back -- for the freshly roasted duck, for the vibes, and for their delicious lemon tea, and their unmatched coffee milk tea! Yummy!

This spot used to be Delicious Food Corner, and the menu is pretty much the same. You can order classic individual Hong Kong cafe dishes or go for larger family-style plates. There's also dimsum options to choose from. We had a bigger group, so we were seated in a quiet private room in the corner, which worked out really well. A few dishes were a bit salty, but overall everything was solid. My favorites were the honey walnut shrimp (crispy and not overly drenched in mayo like at other places), and the spicy garlic eggplant. The soy sauce chow fun is a classic and always a reliable choice. Service was excellent, and our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout.

This is located in the same plaza as Zion Market. Plenty of parking in this plaza, but with the market and other eateries it can get pretty busy. We came for lunch on a Saturday, place was packed but we were able to get a seat for 7. This place has those roasted duck, honey bbq pork & steamed chicken. They also have dim sum you can order off the menu. After ordering, each item came quite fast and we were able to enjoy the food all at the same time. We love what we ordered, especially the salted fish and chicken fried rice.

Recently discovered this authentic Hong Kong style restaurant and could not have been happier! A bit of a trek for us on the UCI side of Irvine in "traffic" but well worth the drive as we can't get this style of food in many places in Irvine with this taste! Definitely a must try. Service was very prompt and we cannot wait to go back! Food was fresh, piping hot, and flavorful! Also loved that they had dim sum all day

Rebranded from Delicious Food Corner, but it appears the menu items remain largely the same. We ordered some of the same items we used to get, and it tasted the same too, so not sure if there was a management change or just a name change. We came on a Monday night without a reservation for a party of 10 and was seated immediately even though not everyone in our party has arrived. The place is quite large and it wasn't too busy so they didn't mind that we just started ordering some food while we waited. Our server was friendly and I remember seeing her there in the past. The HK iced tea was very strong and flavorful with free refills. Everyone enjoyed the food. One of the fried items took extra long so we had to remind them a few times so I forgot to take a photo.

My husband and ai came here with our 13yo & 10yo boys for dinner after driving down from out of town. We arrived around 730pm on a Thursday night, and the restaurant was about 1/3 occupied. It's a big restaurant with many tables that can be put together to accomodate large groups. The AC was on cold and it's very bright inside unlike some restaurants where the lighting is so dim. We were seated immediately and given the menus. A staff came by right after asking to take drink orders. Then another staff came by to take food orders when we barely flipped through the main menu and 2 side menus. We were asked 3x if we were ready to order before we done looking through the menu. I was taken back and somewhat annoyed as I felt rushed. But we finally look through the main menu and order the following: 1. Beef Chow Fun: More noodles than beef. Smaller noodles used compared to other restaurants that ises larger noodles. Good flavor and not oily. Beef is tender. 2. Roasted Duck (half): Very tender, moist and flavorful, not too salty. Came with a small dish of sweet and sour sauce pair with. I wish the skin was crispier though. 3. HK Style Stir Fried Spare Ribs: This dish came out last and took the longest. It was very delish. The spare ribs were very tender and the taste is sweet and tangy, more on the sweeter side, with lots of pineapple, bell peppers and onions. The ribs were cut up too small so we bit into the bones easily. My 10yo son gave up on eating it as it hurt his teeth. 4. Stir fried string beans: A very good dish with salted minced pork. Need to eat with rice or else will be too salty to eat on own. String beans not crunchy as I would like as it a little soft but I would order this dish again. Food came pretty quick but the last dish took longest. We also could not order rice ahead as they wanted us to order rice once the food came out. The overall service is good as they are quick to take away your dirty plates and refilled water as meeded w/o us asking. We would definitely return in the future to try other items as we came towards end of day so a cod dish we wanted was not available. Note: Picture on menu may not be actual dish as there was a string bean & mushroom with fried tofu I wanted to order, but was told that the dish has mushrooms only. The string beans shown in the picture is just for the visual of the menu only. So be sure to confirm that the picture of an item you like will be the actual dish you get.

This visit I got the three meats again. Today was chicken, BBQ pork, and crispy pork. I got meat only since you get more. The server was nice enough to bring me a bowl of rice. As you can see from the picture they load your plate with meat. Service was very good. You really get your money's worth here. They even gave me a to go cup of my iced tea.

Beef Chow Fun W. Dark Soy Sauce, Hong Kong Style Pineapple Bun W. Butter (2)
    Olivia Z.

This meal hit exactly the way I wanted it to. I was craving beef chow fun and pineapple buns so I ordered delivery and oh my gosh this was the best way to end 2025. The beef chow fun had the perfect smokey charred flavor and there was so much beef. The noodles were chewy and not greasy at all and the veggies were perfectly crisp. I have no notes or critiques. The pineapple bun was also delicious. It was so fluffy with a crispy crust. It wasn't the best I've ever had but it satisfied my craving and I have no problems ordering it again. I will 1000% be back to try other menu items because I ascended to another dimension after this meal. Ratings Beef chow fun: 5/5 Pineapple buns: 4.5/5

$76.71 for 2 adults 2 mains and 2 dim sum, 1/3 a plate of leftovers Good Roast duck Good flavor, not enough protein. Lots of rice. Wasn't too meaty, but I enjoyed eating it Braised e fu noodle Not amazing, but the best dish especially with chili oil! I did like it with the shiitake mushrooms and the texture of the noodles reminded me of tofu lol Ok Beancurd roll was interesting. Bae liked it, I found the filling a little gamey/smelly.. sauce is more brothy and diff from what you normally find at dim sum. I personally would just save my cals for 626 and not get this here Not good Shrimp chive dumpling It was a Cantonese version of a viet banh gio. The skin has no chew and is too smooth, inside is too fine of a texture Service Still takes forever to flag down people. Food took 15+ min to come out

We came here for dinner on Thursday around 6pm. At first it was pretty quiet with just a few tables, but by the time we left the place had filled up. The menu has all the usual HK cafe staples. We got the baked pork chop with rice and the black pepper udon with beef. Both dishes were really tasty and the portions were huge, plenty for two people with leftovers to take home. Service was great too. Food came out super quick and they kept coming by to refill our water. Big space, friendly staff, and solid food. Definitely would come back again!

What happened tonight at this restaurant was genuinely concerning and honestly unacceptable…read more We came here for Mother's Day dinner and immediately had a poor experience with service. After being seated, we waited over 10 minutes before we could finally wave someone down just to be greeted and offered water. The more serious issue, however, involved food safety. My younger sister has a severe, life-threatening nut allergy. We ordered several dishes for our family, and one of the soups we received contained peanuts despite there being absolutely no disclosure of peanuts on the menu. At a restaurant where nut usage is apparently common, that is extremely dangerous. Thankfully, my sister was cautious and did not eat any of it because she was worried about cross-contamination. After we raised concerns, we were told that the dishes we ordered "should not" contain nuts and that the chefs wash their utensils and woks after each dish. However, we also learned they reuse the same cooking oil between dishes. If peanut-containing dishes are cooked using that oil and the oil is recycled back into the same supply, there is still a major cross-contamination risk regardless of whether the utensils are washed. What made this worse was the manager's response. Instead of acknowledging the seriousness of undisclosed peanuts and shared cooking oil, my sister was blamed for "not mentioning her allergy," even though a different employee took our order and the menu itself failed to disclose peanuts in the soup. Food allergies are not preferences. For some people, this is literally life or death. Restaurants that use peanuts or peanut oil -- especially with shared oil systems -- should clearly disclose ingredients and properly train staff on allergy safety and cross-contamination. This situation could have gone very differently for another family.

The parking is VERY bad here but you'll find parking if you go farther towards the supermarket side. Yes there is always a wait here especially on peak weekend hours but the lines move very fast. You do ideally need a mandarin/cantonese speaking person however since majority of the staff don't speak english if you need help. The menu is huge with all your traditional HK cafe foods including a separate breakfast and lunch menu. The must have beginner items are the Iced Lemon Tea or the HK Milk Tea. They have changed the policy so you only get ONE refill now then you'll be charged for the 2nd refill! There on-going promotion is BOGO 1/2 steamed chicken or add $3 if you want soy sauce chicken. A very common deal in the rowland area however this place isn't the BEST for steam chicken since its abit lacking in meat and flavor buts till a good deal for larger parties. The other go-to items here are the walnut shrimp, french style filet mignon, egg plant with garlic sauce casserole. Get the short rib version if you want more protein! All of these dishes are super authentic and delicious and very consistent every time! There are secret menu items not on the menu like the stir fry two types of noodle with salted vermicelli(咸魚肉片炒雙麵/炒雙營). It's a classic HK dish with thin egg noodle and chow mein noodle mixed together. This chow mein becomes super crispy while the egg noodle remains soft. The saltiness of the salted fish goes great as the main carb. The service here is great with very attentive waiters. Yes you need to be aggressive to get there attention like at all Cantonese restaurants! The wontons also had silky wrappers, but crucially didn't rip or disintegrate. The fillings also had properly flavorful and plump shrimp bits - no filler. The stock was also rich. This was textbook execution. In Cantonese fashion, the simplicity belies the execution and attention to detail. If you order the hot milk tea/milk tea, disclaimer it's HK style so comes unsweetened and you can sweeten it to your personal taste with the condensed milk or sugar on the table. Service is also super quick so you'll be in and out of there, can probably even stop by if you're in a little rush. In total we spent about 35 min from being seated to finishing our meal and stepping out the door.

Environment is well decorated with Mahjong pieces at the tables and there's plenty of seats/couch spaces inside. Very good vibes. Lots of people speak Cantonese and Mandarin/Chinese here. Staffs are professional and provide good service as needed. Very clean and modern. Macau pork chop buns and french toasts look very delicious and tempting. Prices are decent. You can choose from all kinds of rice rolls, rice plates, noodle soups, sandwiches, snacks, stir fried entrees, etc. and they even serve breakfast. Nice. Good menu variety. I had the $9.99 golden yellow salted droopy egg yolks french toast which was topped with custard syrup, pork sung meat floss toppings, peanut butter, etc. It was so droopy good and filled with juicy salted egg yolks. Great flavors. Huge portions. Worth it for afternoon snack. French toast was really made fluffy with egg ingredients. Sweet! Great value. $13.99 fish ball/fried fish cake noodle soup was fulfilling. Good balance and good food presentation. Loved all their colorful plates/bowls. Added a red bean iced beverage and iced coffee to go. Good feeling eating inside the place. We will definitely revisit in future. Service was very memorable. Great atmosphere.

When you order, you'll check mark the menu they have ( with pictures might I add ! ) and they'll come pick it up and bring out your order fresh and pipin' hot. We came on a busy day with plenty of people ahead of us in line, but because of the fast service we got in surprisingly quick. Although they were busy, every time we needed something they would bring it out right away but this is not the place where they would come check on you every so often. They know what they're doing and they do it efficiently. Here is a few must try items that we all loved! - Egg Tart - Scallop w/ Shrimp Dumpling - Fish w/ Sausage Balls - Fried Golden Shrimp Balls Definitely check this place out if you're looking for a good dim sum spot !

Strip mall dim sum…read more I guess don't judge this place into you step in and try it. When I walked in and saw the outside I was wondering why my friends choose this place, it looked from the outside like a small shop, but when I walked in it was way bigger and authentic. Jokes on me. Ordered a bunch of dim sum dishes, everything came out quickly. They even have dessert samples in the front. In San Francisco they would never have dessert samples at a dim sum place so that was a plus for our group. Tea is around $5 a pot. Potstickers were a hit and so was the beef chow fun. Those were 5/5 The beef jook is a skip, kind of tasted runny like powder and no real flavor with weird small bits of beef that looked like bacon bits. 2/10 Other than that the dim sum was solid amd came out hot and fresh. Same with the Chinese broccoli. Skip the lemon iced tea. Tasted like it was from a packet and it was horrible. 0/10 Would definitely come back for their dim sum though.
