I come almost exclusively for the breakfast specials, which are hard to beat. Both the Honk Kong and western specials are good.

It's a big and spacious restaurant, it does have the HK wonton soup taste base for the noodle I ordered. Service is your basic service. I mean if you're in the mood for HK cafe food, this is fine but there are other choices around as options.

I haven't been to the Tasty Spot Cafe in a while, and my friend suggested going there for breakfast today. We both ordered the western breakfast of Combo G with Grilled New York Steak with two eggs & toast + spam rice macaroni in soup. It also came with a free drink, and I chose the lemon water. My friend requested medium rare to medium of her New York steak, and I requested mine for medium. Guess what, both of our N.Y. steaks were all well-done. They did not have any pink color in the center, and they were cooked through. The texture of the steak was chewy with a rubbery tendon. We did not like it. The toast and eggs were okay, but the rice macaroni in soup was bland taste. I did not realize that it should have spam (on the menu), but it was replaced with tiny pieces of ham. However, the service was great and attentive. The server also helped us to refill our drinks. I wish they would improve the food quality because there are many HK food cuisines in the area.

We usually sit in to eat. On rare occasions, we order to go. This is one of the typical Hong Kong Style Cafe styles with endless refills of Lemon Ice Tea. Servers are usually pretty busy, but if you need something let them know. Some of them also do speak English, so don't be deterred if they're talking to you in Cantonese. Not much decor, simple and basic. This location has a Chinese BBQ up in the front if you want to order Suckling Pig, Peking Duck, or BBQ Pork.

1 Year Update: DFC became Tasty Spot a little over a year ago...same HK menu concept and same staff, too! :) When I miss home (grandma style) comfort cooking, I like to swing by Cantonese style canteen -- HK Cafe like Tasty Spot. It's located in the plaza across from 99-Ranch with lots of tight parking spaces so aim away from storefronts to avoid traffic. The staff is always running around taking orders, dropping off orders, refilling drinks and cleaning tables -- very busy but friendly. My usual order is always a wonton noodles soup and my curry tofu (off menu). Then, I'll ordered an another dish so I have more than enough food for leftover (for dinner). For Father's Day weekend (2025), a promotion that all father gets a FREE pineapple bun and a drink from the menu. We also got a free seasoning item when the check is over $50. Glad I came here this weekend. :)

Had dinner here last night. I'd say this is a solid 7.5/10 place if you want some Hong Kong Delicious Food Corner equivalent food. It's pretty affordable and not too crowded. Just don't expect it to taste like the best Chinese food of all time. Waiters are very quick and attentive and wait time for food isn't that long. The dinner deal is great too, was like $9.99 for bunch of dinner options! And if you spend like $60 you can get a free lobster or pigeon. I liked the stir fried spare ribs the most, it had a crispy/crunchy sweet and sour taste to it, was not soggy at all.

Absolutely incredible value! For just $6.50, I received a carefully curated collection of six and half pieces of sausage. The portion size is so exclusive that it really teaches you to slow down and savor every single bite. Not many places have the confidence to offer such a minimalist dining experience. Truly memorable!

This HK style cafe used to be one of the Delicious Food Corner's locations, but it appears that there has been either a name change or maybe a change of ownership. The personnel, menus, and essentially the food remain the same. Tasty Spot has one of the best values in afternoon teas in the area. Congees and soup noodles are paired with a choice of pineapple bun or rice noodles, both of which are good. Each afternoon tea entree also includes a choice of tea or coffee, and there is no surcharge for cold drinks. The pineapple bun is heated in a toaster oven, so the bun is warm and soft while the crust has a crispy and flaky texture. The rice noodles are served with a blend of hoisin sauce and peanut butter and are the yummiest in town. Their congees are also good as the rice is thoroughly melted making the texture really smooth. I particularly like the dried vegetables and spareribs version. I am also a fan their beef chow fun and wonton noodle soup. Most sandwiches are fine, but whatever you do, do not get their corned beef sandwich. I've had it once and it was horrible -- the quality of the beef was so poor that they tried to cover it up with raw onions which made it even worse. This is one of a few places that offers fresh HK style egg bubble waffle. However, the quality is not consistent. A couple of times they were fresh from the oven and hot and crispy. But a few times they were cold. Just yesterday, the one that we ordered came to our table cold and soft.

This establishment is so underrated for sure. Their food is always fresh, good quality and the price is very reasonable too. Tasty Spot Cafe hit the SPOT every time... I am craving for a juicy roast ducks. Im a little embarrassed to say, I have been coming to eat lunch almost everyday here.... I would say about 3-4 times a week now since I found them. The service is always fast and friendly especially , a lady named Ling. She served me today. She was fast, friendly and spoke English! It's well organized Restuarant and well kept and clean. The menu is big which a big plus for people like myself because I can try different plate every time I'm here for lunch. My favorite is their succulent juicy roast duck with a side of rice... delicious!

They have breakfast specials! Not too many options but they were actually all very delicious. I usually don'y like the maccaroni noodles but the soup had taste! Service was really good. I guess i just haven't been here in a long time. There were a lot of tables open and one thing i like about this place is their air conditioner.

Okay.. let me tell you how much I enjoy this place so much. First, I came to this place at least once a week for the last month since I moved here to the city of Walnut. I have never been to any restaurants and go there every week .. this says a lot about this place. The food is always fresh and generous portion for the price.. I am so picky but yet, I can't say enough how delicious their food and the service is amazing. They are fast and they do speak English that's a plus for me. This place is so underrated and I am shocked! Definitely will go back in a few days for more delicious items to try next time. ... okay manager. Please send someone to clean the bathroom more often. This is my only complaint.

DLLM... duck is all bones! I ordered 3 box of duck and char siu and all 3 box had barely meat on the duck. Butcher purposely pick worse cuts of the back to sell us, and charging $15 each box was a double f us. Watch the butcher when he chops your cuts, they really dew lay when you're not looking

It took about ten minutes for us to get a booth table, but we were waiting inside. The staff member called numbers firstly in Cantonese then in English. After we sat down, the waiting line persisted past 1 pm. Similarly, the bustling loudness continued on during the course of our meal. Food arrived quickly, however. The price point for the delicious food is competitive. We got French-style filet mignon ($18.99), braised tofu in brown sauce ($14.99), chicken chow mein ($14.99), and a steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork ($5.99). A pot of rice was included in our meal. The steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork was a nice appetizer that arrived first. I enjoyed how the French-style filet mignon was garnished with Thai basil, black pepper, and ginger. The meat was flavorful and tender. The braised tofu in brown sauce was consistently hot on the inside. The delicious brown sauce soaked throughout the vegetables. The chicken chow mein didn't have a lot of sauce, but it was still delicious with a lot of meat included. Overall, it would be nice to visit again outside of a peak time because the food prices are competitive. The menu is expansive, and the breakfast selections look interesting. The atmosphere during the Sunday lunch peak time was consistently bustling. I think the restaurant started to play Chinese music loudly at random points so that people could finish dining more quickly.

We were placed in the back room, which felt a little more calm compared to the main dining area. Service was good. Our waiter was fast, friendly, and really on top of things, which made a big difference since it was packed. Ordering is simple, they give you a paper menu where you mark what you want and hand it back. We ordered tea for two and picked a bunch of dim sum: jumbo shrimp har gow, shrimp fried wontons, steamed rice noodle roll with shrimp, baked abalone sauce BBQ pork bun, poached Chinese broccoli, and custard egg tarts. Everything came out fresh and hit the spot. The har gow were plump and juicy, the rice noodle rolls were soft and silky, and the BBQ pork buns had that perfect slightly sweet, fluffy texture. The egg tarts were a great finish--warm and flaky. We did end up only getting 5 out of the 6 items we ordered, but honestly we were already pretty full at that point so I didn't feel like making it a big deal. The food here is mediocre at best and the service is just awful. They make you feel like a burden and inconvenience right from the bat and refuse to acknowledge you. We were ordering with a waitress then she suddenly got frustrated when we tried to order the honey walnut shrimp and threw her hands in the air and called someone else over. The tall Asian guy who took our orders also made us seem like an inconvenience and even walked away in the middle of us ordering. He kept this same attitude throughout the whole time. My parents were excited for the 99 cent chicken deal they had and wanted to order more and the same guy refused to acknowledge their questions and ultimately told us it was 1 order per table. This is fine if that's their policy, but it was the way he was acting. He made us feel that we were cheap and stingy wanting to take advantage or get cheap eats. If you don't want people to order this cheap dish, don't have it on your menu or advertise it! Also, we ordered plenty of other foods. Beware because this place seems like they're scammy. I ordered a pot of rice and apparently they charge rice per person so regardless of how many people you have, you still get the same pot of rice but more expensive. This makes no sense even when I questioned them about it. When we tried to ask one of the cart ladies about ordering a football from the fried section, she gave us another item instead and when we opened it up, it wasn't what we wanted. They kept trying to push more items on our table to get our money even though we repeatedly said no. They also charge for sauce and didn't tell us. Another waitress (who we didn't even interact with throughout our time) chased me down trying to pressure me to tip more. I have no problem tipping, but when the service is like this, I am not going to leave a 20% tip like usual. I will say the kind busser here was exceptional and although he didnt speak English, he was so kind and honestly made my day. Everyone else here was rude and unwelcoming. The mediocre food here is not worth the outright disrespectful and terrible service.

Such a hidden gem! Made the drive up from Irvine and it was worth every mile…read more If you come here, you HAVE to get the Beef Tongue Rice. The cuts are perfectly thick and tender, and mixing it with the runny egg is incredibly satisfying. Even better than my usual go-to spots. We also tried the Taiwanese Mini Hot Pot--the broth is mild, but their Shacha dipping sauce is super authentic and hits the spot. The Stir-fried Water Spinach had great wok hei, too. But the real plot twist was the Pineapple Bun with Butter. I normally skip these because I find them too sweet, but theirs is a game-changer. Extremely crispy on the outside with that perfect slice of cold butter melting inside. Great portions, quick service, and a very comfortable environment to just sit down and enjoy a solid meal with friends. Highly recommend!

The rice and minced pork was super good. Good sweetness and texture. The chow fun was good but I think I would have preferred soy sauce option over the black bean option. The crispy noodles had a really good texture that I really liked, but I wish they were in a diff sauce. A more savory soy sauce or a more salty peanut sauce would have been great. I also like the ambiance and service was also pretty good! the food did not take that long to come out. Everything was pretty affordable and parking was really simple to find as well! Overall, I would recommend going to this place! I think most people would really enjoy it!

The dishes no longer have that proper wok hei flavor, and the food tasted bad on my recent visit. What made the experience even worse was the service. The staff were rude, dismissive, and acted annoyed that customers were even there. One of the girls, the one with the ponytail, was especially rude and needs to learn basic manners. Another staff member was also unfriendly and gave attitude the entire time. I also did not appreciate being pressured about tipping. A tip should be optional and based on good service. If the service is poor, customers should not be made to feel uncomfortable or confronted over it. On top of that, they add extra charges when using a credit card, including a fee if you spend under $30. That already feels frustrating, but the bigger issue is the attitude and poor treatment from staff. Customers are the reason businesses stay open. No one is asking to be treated like royalty, but people come in to enjoy a meal and should at least be treated with basic respect. If I am going to be ignored, rushed, and given attitude, I would rather stay home and eat in front of my TV. I will not be coming back .. food quality and customer service Nate major improve.

The store itself is nothing fancy, very no-frills. Prices are very reasonable, which is the main draw here. One thing to note: rice or noodles are not included with your selections unless you order them separately or choose them as one of your items--and personally, I didn't find that option worth it. There's a wide variety of choices; some dishes were solid while others were pretty underwhelming, so it's definitely hit or miss. That said, for the price, it's still a decent spot if you know what to order and aren't expecting anything special.
