The food is excellent. Had the pizza and surf and turf tacos, the latter a daily special, and both were delicious. The wait staff was a bit slow due to the large crowd, but cheerful and polite. The biggest drawback were the flies. Way too many, landing on exposed food and causing us to swat at them while we ate. Such a wonderful restaurant should make an effort to control them. Would definitely return there in the near future. read more

Me and the wife went here one night for a date when the kids were away with family and we ended up leaving after sitting at the bar for 15-20 minutes without any recognition. About 5-10minutes after arrival we had to go out of our way to grab a passing employees attention who told us they would be back in just a minute. 10-15 minutes later and still no service we just left. Have never experienced an issue like that in my entire life previous to that night. Went here for dinner recently on the recommendations of neighbors. There was live music and a lively atmosphere inside and out. It's a small place, but the space is managed well. They were preparing a lot of to-go orders as well as orders for inside and outside dining. The menu is vast. My wife got a real good personal pizza and I got a Reuben. Both were hot when delivered and quite flavorful. Prices were reasonable as well. For the price and food quality, I would gladly dine here again. read more

Been to T42 several ones now over the past year. Have lived in the area for over 14 years but just never went to this little gem. I went a couple times before Covid and it was a fun tavern with DELICIOUS Bloody Mary's ((full apps included in the drink, olives, celery or green bean, etc but the best is a fabulous slice of crispy bacon!!! I know!!!))) Post Covid have been outside and have had so much fun with my friends - especially since they started live music. read more

We went with my husband and 8yr old son on3/24/22. It has gone so far downhill. Our fries were either super greasy or frozen in the middle. Our burgers were raw raw. Our son's was cooked to death. We sent them all back and then the "new" ones came back and every single bite had either bone or tough tendon in it. It was inedible and the fries were still frozen! Don't waste money here read more

I think that this place is the best around for what it is. I've tried a couple of their sandwiches... the blackened chicken sandwich is delicious. Their pizza isn't bad. Fries are good. This is a very unassuming building with a tIny parking lot, but the flavors are nothing but spectacular! On a night when there is music, trivia or any weekend, get there early if you want to just come in and sit down. This is the only place within 30 miles that I happily get pizza from. My husband & I went to Tavern 42 while we were visiting Clayton, and we were very impressed! The service was fantastic; the bartender checked on us frequently and made sure our orders were taken quickly and we always had drinks! The food was also pretty amazing. We got loaded fries, a grilled cheese, and a 9" pizza. They were all delicious! The absolute best part, though, was the strawberry shortcake cheesecake!! Stopped here while traveling through and enjoyed it. Bar tender/waitress was friendly they kept drinks full which I liked. Decent menu wasn't sure what to get she advised trying the pizza said it was the best in the area couldn't argue since I'm not from the area lol but I wasn't as impressed although it was decent and the toppings were good it barely had any sauce and the dough didn't seemed cook all the way it was still doughy. They were busy so maybe it got rushed but as I said it was decent and worth trying. read more
