I like this place better than the Derby & Locos. The menu is basically the same as it was as Locos, but they do have a few different things and some of the popular items from Locos. I am a transplant to the South, from the Northeast. When i grew up Friday was fish dinner night, and it was always haddock. Since I have been in the South now for 26 years, I have never seen haddock offered on any menu until my visit Tavern House. They have fish and chips, and it is haddock! then the waitress asked what kind of potatoes I wanted - fries, cajun fries or tater tots. It is refreshing to find an alternative to fries, so I ordered the tater tots. Everything arrived as ordered and the fish and tots were great. I am glad to finally find a restaurant that meets my needs and with a great sports bar atmosphere. I heartily recommend this restaurant, give this place a try. read more

The service was pretty awful. The server had no clue about the menu. I ordered a Turkey Rueben that was shown on menu with thousand island but came out with spicy brown mustard. Fun on St. Paddy's. The staff was bustling since a line chef and a server were out, but everybody was friendly and working well together. BOGO boneless chicken wings on Wednesday are a good deal, and they have all the popular beers. Can't say anything about the drinks since I don't. Tavern House is a friendly neighborhood sports bar where friends and neighbors go to hang out and socialize and relax. Karaoke after 9 PM is fun. First time trying this place, been wanting to for some time. We sat ourselves as instructed by the sign at the entrance. After some time without being greeted or seeing a server I walked to the back section and asked the only employee I saw if there was a server in our section. She snapped at me saying "yeah, give me a second" I am a server and understand that sometimes you're in the weeds and can't get to a new table in a timely fashion, but that is not that way I would respond. I would apologize for the delay and assure the table I'd be with them soon. We chose to leave. Ordered my food to go, when I got in the restaurant no one greeted me. I was there for at least ten minutes just standing there with no service, some people were going in and out of the kitchen and they all saw me standing there. Instead of coming over and saying someone will be right with no they paid no mind to me. I finally walked out and called to cancel my order. I asked to speak to the manger and she said they are short staffed and I can understand that, I just wished someone would have said something to me. I got the nachos, and they were salty! The nachos did not come with everything the menu talked about. They were supposed to have jalapeños and pico de gallo and it didn't. All it had was about four slices of bell peppers and onions. The chicken was super salty and not cut up. I bet not to many people get this because it was horrible. I will not be back here. read more

Was looking forward to trying this place and having new restaurant in rotation. I ordered a chicken wrap. It was filled with grizzle or some unchewable and disgusting type of meat. Sweet potato fries were under cooked. Its a bit overpriced for the quality of food. Taste more like hospital cafeteria food. If you go at night, there are no lights in middle of dining room. I have to say my husband and I were really looking forward to a sports bar right around the corner from us. We tried Locos for lunch today... I'll break it down for you now. The remodel is hands down so much better than we thought it would be, there is no lingering smoke smell, the place looked clean and much more open. We were "greeted" if you call a greeting... how many?? (No hello, no welcome, nothing) then "it will be a table ok? " we walked to our table and I asked for a high chair for our 10 month old... I was told "there is a high chair behind you" not trying to be rude I asked if I had to get it with my child in my arms... ok it's a sports bar, I'm thinking maybe I shouldn't have come with a baby :(... fast forward to our service. We sat down the server came and quickly asked if we knew what we wanted to drink. We ordered and got our drinks on time. We ordered our food and our server had 3 other tables, they came 5 minutes and 10 minutes after we did and both tables got their food before we did. The server knew our food was taking a bit longer than it should (25 minute ticket time) so he came to our table and just said "it should be out soon" nothing else... no im sorry it's taking a bit longer than normal, no I've told my manager of your long ticket time... nothing. All the while my husbands drink and my drink were empty. The food comes out and isn't 100% correct but we don't say anything. The server didn't take our empty glassware away it stayed on the table. I wanted to say something to management but then when we finished... and here is the kicker... the manager talks to the host and in ear range pretty much tells her she has failed her responsibilities " you know you are supposed to check the restroom for paper towels and they are empty" then proceeds to tell another server " she didn't do this..." I'm sorry but why would I say anything to a manager who says these things in front of guests. I have NEVER been embarrassed to eat at any establishment and had such high hopes for this place but I can honestly say we will drive elsewhere to get our sports bar fix . read more
