The risotto wasn't cooked properly and had the texture of overcooked rice mixed with sauce rather than risotto, the ceviche was bland, and everything could've used a little extra salt. I was pretty stoked to try this place. Walked in, got seated and right away considered leaving and I wish I did. Made a reservation for an early dinner so we could catch a show. Walk in and the hostess greets us from her stand in an alcove around the corner, weird she's hidden but she's nice, friendly and takes us to our table. We sit down, we're offered a cocktail menu, then order our drinks. A Manhattan and a martini are ordered. The martini made it up to 3/4 to the glass rim and rye Manhattan was a pink color-not brown, looked like a Shirley temple. The martini was ordered dirty, but no olive juice at all. Again the feeling I should leave creeps in, but I give them the benefit of the doubt because we ordered off menu drinks. We order some of the appetizers/tapas-hibachi steak fries (we got steak frites-no sauce looks nothing like the picture), shrimp Rangoon skewers, tapas platter, and brussel sprouts. Shrimp was fine, presentation was messy, the wrapper stopped before the shrimp did. Steak was seasoned and cooked well. The brussel sprouts I didn't enjoy because they were sweet-this is just personal preference. Everything else-much like our drinks were awful. Tapas platter comes with hummus, ceviche with tortilla chips, and arancini. The hummus was a lovely red color...and I don't know how they got it to that color when it tasted like nothing. No salt, no olive oil, no taste. I dipped a celery stick in and only tasted celery. Ceviche again no flavor and chips were stale. The arancini wasn't cooked and it was like a cold rice ball. We get another drink because maybe we just need more of a buzz to enjoy this food, you know like being drunk makes Jack in the Box better? Beer wasn't a full glass, maybe a 10oz pour, maybe that's your standard pour? I also want to note that our French fries were inedible. Way undercooked. Not a single plate was finished, I paid as I got my second drink and left-what I should have done in the first place. Quite honestly I wanted to like this place, but if I wanted undercooked and under seasoned food I would have stayed home, at least there I can have a 12 ounce beer. read more

The service was outrageously bad- as in our server was nowhere to be found. one person in our party got his food 20 minutes after the rest of us were finished. They did credit that one. I visited with a couple of friends and we were greeted and seated promptly with such upbeat and pleasant, enthusiastic behavior... love that kind of environment. The establish is in the downtown area by the art district so you know I has to blend in but it stands out for the neat aesthetic structure it is. The host were awesome and ready to answer every question we had of the menu ingredients. I was personally delighted with the Moroccan Chicken!! That plate was bomb!! Had a wonderful family lunch here on a Sunday! Chef Chris, wait staff, bartenders and entertainment staff were wonderful! The food was creative, well thought out and especially delicious! Even my dad enjoyed their vegan dishes - now thats impressive! We had brought our own bottle of special wine to share but management said they don't permit outside wines - would have been happy to pay for a corkage fee so hopefully they can change that in the future. Also the music was just slightly loud for the intimate space but the music choice and performers were top notch. Great location and great experience! We got in there around 9PM, but the kitchen was still opena and our bartender/server was fantastic and extremely accommodating! Had great drink suggestions as well as food suggestions. We came in after another bar that was high energy and loud, so we were looking to just chill and talk and hang out. They have the upstairs terrace that was hosting a burlesque show, so the fact the venue have two very different options for whatever your feeling that night was such a releif. They also have a small coffee shop in the front with options you can get from the menu which is great for a nice cup after a big dinner or just a night time pick me up. Would definitely love to get there for another show/high energy night (when I actually have the energy!) Will definitely be back! read more

Wish I could say I liked our experience here more. Nice looking place, friendly hostess and servers but crappy food. Sorry but avocado toast should have some avocado on it, not just one half of a VERY small avocado. Even the toast wasn't toasted enough and the potato hash not cooked through. My friend had the Moroccan chicken sandwich and said it was lacking any real flavor and the French fries were soggy. Even the iced tea looked watered down and lacked any flavor. I came here today with my brunch group. The DJ was wonderful. This is a group I'm in, so we make reservations every time. However this time, the staff didn't talk to each other. The person who wrote down our reservation, didn't put it into the computer, therefore the wait staff was not prepared AT ALL for our large party. Given the unpreparedness, there are many things the staff could've done better to make things easier on everyone. The majority of our party got bottomless drinks. It would have been nice to have a carafe with the different juices and a bottle of champagne. Also a few pitchers of water, so we can refill our own glasses. Because we had to wait A WHILE for a second drink or refills. Also when orders were taken, to assign each person a number with their order, so checks would be a breeze. What happened was, 1 waitress had to go back after we've finished eating, and ask everyone what they got, gave us a number, to make sure our ticket was right. There was a table just full of receipts to hand out. It was a mess and took a good 30-45 minutes. I ordered fries as an appetizer, which didn't come out until the food did. That's not an appetizer. Many people didn't get things they asked for; had to ask 2 or 3x for someone to bring out the item. The person across from me and I ordered French Toast; we didn't get syrup. Had to ask 3x for it. When it finally came, the waitress had only 1 small container, which of course wasn't enough for multiple people and said "we have to find more syrup" I overheard this and thought "FIND"?! You're a brunch restaurant and you can't find syrup?! My food tasted good however by the time I got syrup, my toast wasn't warm anymore, so that was a drag. I don't need to hurry back here. Jessica B. handled our receipts at the end. But she wasn't our waitress. Didn't get her name, but she had tattoos and a short haircut. As large as our party was, we should've had 2-3 waiters. None of the food was outright bad, and the portions were very fair, but it was all quite bland and severely overpriced. They were out of two different items my brother tried to order- both the lamb and the pork chops. My step dad ordered the salmon entree on the special menu and was brought a plain grilled salmon side dish. The waitress went out of her way to scold the staff for not knowing their own menu and fixed the item for free which we appreciated, only for the eventual final result to be missing a key ingredient. Wait time was very long for everything. The ambiance was very white hipster, as were most of the customers, which isn't necessarily bad but it's not for me. I did greatly appreciate that this was an openly LGBT friendly establishment. The vegan options were also a nice touch. Additionally, the wait staff was very friendly and I appreciated their kindness and efforts to fix the problems. Aside from those three positives, most of my experience at this eclectic hipster establishment were not anywhere near as good as I hoped. You can find much, much better food anywhere else in Vegas for half the price. We were offered 10% off on our next visit, but unfortunately, we will not be returning to redeem it. read more

I don't normally leave reviews, but Taverna has blown me away so many times that I feel it only right to leave an outstanding review. I have now been to both brunch and dinner here multiple times. I am constantly pleased by how amazing the food is, elevating the experience with their infusion of flavors! The service is not only impeccable, but also wonderful. The chef, manager and owner walk around often, greeting patrons and making sure everything is to their liking. The atmosphere is fantastic as are the drinks. I highly recommend a visit. read more

Took a group of friends here for my birthday on Friday and had an excellent time. It was very quiet because Life is Beautiful festival was going on elsewhere so I was surprised that bar and kitchen service was a little choppy (our waitress was wonderful, things were just coming out a little inconsistently) but everything we had was delicious and we were in no rush, so they still get five stars from me. On a Thursday evening we had the pleasure of dining at Taverna Costera in the Las Vegas Art District. We easily located a parking spot across the street. We had come to view some Artworks that were being displayed on the side walk in front. We had our dog, Khloe, a one year old miniature schnauzer, with us. They have a nice patio area out back that we chose for dinner. Everybody from the wait staff to the owner and chef were very friendly, helpful, and professional. They really made some great suggestions from the menu. The menu was unique, varied, and delicious . It has a Hawaiian accent. They have some great Tapas. We especially enjoyed their calamari strips that had been soaked in buttermilk and coated in a furikake panko crust with an aioli sauce. Our entrees were plentiful and a fusion blend of unique flavors. We would order them again they so enjoyable. Please make a trip to the Art District and check them out. We will be back!
