For me reviewing a business is about how it served me so therefore, an establishment starts with the people. It always begins with grading the workers and the staff for me. If the staff are kind , genuine and accommodating , that is an automatic star from me. The young lady that recently helped us at Taz on our last visit was very pleasant and kind to us. She was patient with us and even went into detail about the history of the food as she knew it. Next, The atmosphere has to have a decent ambience. Although rather small, Taz makes up for it with its very cozy and welcoming atmosphere. It's a place that you would want to claim as a part your weekly routine. Upon every visit , I have always come in to nothing more than a good vibe. It is definitely a locals restaurant , it has the feel of a place that remembers their regulars and are excited to see them. I think that's the way it should feel. It makes a customer want to come back time and again. The food is simply amazing ! I have been here a few times over the years and I have to say I have never been disappointed. The Chicken Tikka Masala is my favorite dish. Taz does an exquisite job of preparing this one dish. The Naan, Indian flatbread, is always a- must-have with every order. I could just eat the Naan as a whole meal with Masala sauce. Taz Restaurant also boast a bar, so you can get a drink while you wait for your take out order or have a cocktail with your meal. The restaurant is in a convenient spot on Alameda not too far from the main drag . I definitely recommend Taz restaurant for a dining experience. read more

Since I just reviewed Bites of China, it would be remiss of me not to tell you about a similarly yummy find in the exact same stripmall - namely, Taz Indian Restaurant, whose Nepalese owners are sure to have a delectable dish just for you! Personally, I always like to start my meal with an order of Momo. Originating with the Newari people from the area around Kathmandu, these dumplings feature either cabbage or chicken lovingly tucked into a white flour wrapper, then steamed to perfection before being served with a simply stunning sesame/tomato chutney. Alternatively, you can treat yourself to an order of the flaky fried turnovers called Samosa, or the moist fried fish nuggets known as Pakora. And who - really, who? - can forget the plump coconut shrimp served with fragrant cream-based Korma sauce? But make sure you don't gorge yourself too senseless, because you still have some choices ahead of you. Noodle lovers will go agog for the Chau-Chau or Chaumin, whose wheaty strands are quick-fried either with chicken or seasonal mixed veggies. (Interestingly, many eateries in Nepal use the Thai-in-origin instant noodles called "Wai Wai" - available at many of Denver's Nepalese and Bhutanese markets - for this dish). Vegetable fans will be similarly enamored with Bhindi ko Tarkari (sometimes also called Bhindi ki Sabji) - chopped okra simmered with dried mango powder, turmeric, and the spice blend called garam masala until it reaches maximum succulence. Oh, you're looking for a little more heat? Try some salmon with the chili/vinegar sauce called Vindaloo - but don't blame me when you spend the rest of the night going "owwwwwwwwwwwwwwww" - I did warn you, after all. Another great item is the dark, decadent Handi Chicken (the name refers to the earthenware pot traditionally used to cook the dish) whose subtle notes of cardamom, cumin and coriander will send you into culinary conniptions. I know you want to stuff just a bit more in, so why not finish things off with a little carrot pudding (Gajar ka Halwa), pistachio ice cream (Kulfi) or even creamed rice with almonds (Kheer)? Then you can plan your next meal there, because I know you'll want to return again and again once you've tried what's on offer at Taz. read more

This is my hundredth Yelp review! Ok, now back to business. My husband and I found Taz on Grub Hub one night when we didn't feel like cooking or going out anywhere (which is very rare, let me tell you). Grub Hub had a ton of options, but we chose Taz because of the high reviews and no delivery fee. The food was delicious! The Tandoori Chicken was surprisingly moist, the peppers were perfect. My husband enjoyed the Seesh Kabab as well. Not to mention, our order arrived well inside the estimated delivery window. I try to stay out of Aurora as much as possible, so I might never see the restaurant itself, but with delivery this good, I don't have to. read more

Fantastic Indian food! Glad to have a new Indian place in the area and these folks seem to be eager to please. We had the chicken saag tikka and the chicken tikka korma. Scam Alert!!! Read why below. If you ate here before check your statements. So we fly into Denver and pick this place. Call them to place an order over the phone. Their site said Lunch Special is $7.99 with rice and naan. We ask for the total and she states it comes to $72 for three things, two apps, lassi, etc. when we ask why, she said its dinner price. I end up telling her it's 11:00 AM how are you charging me dinner price? We then go down line by line what we order to make sure everything is correct. By the end of the call our total came to $30. Yup, $40 up charge for some reason. Ok mistakes can be made and we were hungry. Once I get there order was partly filled because they forgot make few things and it will take another few minutes to make. So I purposely at this point don't leave a tip. I check my card statement the next day and saw two transaction... One for the actual bill and one for a generous tip. Yup, they tried to tip themselves without my authorization. Of course I called back and the same lady tried to play games until I mentioned my lawyer, my bank and a lawsuit. Had her call me back by the owner who also at first tried to play games until the same threat of a lawsuit... Now they are refunding me the money, but I strongly encourage everyone to stay away or even check their bills. Sad thing was their food was actually good. read more

Yesterday I was craving Chicken Tikka Masala something fierce, so I decided to order from Taz Indian Restaurant. I ordered online and picked up at the restaurant, so I can't really speak to the ambiance of the restaurant or the service, but the woman who gave me my order was nice. I did notice that the restaurant is pretty small, with a row of about 5 booths along one wall, the buffet on the opposite wall, and a few tables in between. The Chicken Tikka Masala was excellent, and I was impressed with the portion size. For just over $10, I got enough rice and Chicken Tikka Masala for three servings! The lunch special also came with two large pieces of naan. I really enjoyed my meal and will definitely come back. I would like to try the buffet sometime! read more

*sigh*....the food is a MAJOR let down. The saag paneer doesn't have an ounce of cream and is soo unbelievably flavorless and flat. Chicken Tiki Masala has a good consistency, but it too is pretty blah too and I went with medium. The naan is super thin. None of this meal is really worth the price paid, and the only thing I can say nice about it, is that the delivery was super fast...but that is hardly worth ordering from here to get blah overpriced food. :( read more

I am obsessed with Indian food. It is the reason I have to have a gym membership. Taz did a wonderful job of fulfilling my Indian buffet craving. Normally, I am a chicken tikka masala addict, so I was disappointed it wasn't part of the buffet. As I sat in my pout, I begrudgingly grabbed chicken vindaloo, which I usually don't like. It took one bite for me to realize I am wrong. Their vindaloo is off the chain. It might be the only vindaloo I have ever had seconds of. Beyond the awesome vindaloo, they gave me a huge portion of some of the best naan I have ever had. They also had excellent dal makhani, which other places in the area tend to make taste like red chili. I also generally think gulab jamun is gross, but these were buttery and had the most balanced honey on them. So good! I am only giving them a 4 because the saag was lacking the paneer and the lack of tikka masala. I look forward to ordering take out from them in the future. Now, I am going to the gym. read more

Ordered wings, calamari, 2 indian salads, stuffed bread, saffron rice, chicken jahangir, saag paneer, rice pudding & carrot pudding. First the confirmation said it would be 45-60 min food was delivered in about 40 min and there was enough food to feed two more people. My girlfriend and I will be eating this for lunch tomorrow. So happy to see an Indian restaurant so close to home! This is exactly what we needed. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, garlic naan and cheese naan. It was absolutely delicious. Everybody working was so sweet and accommodating. Even though it was a "to-go" order, they offered us tea and other drinks for free. Great people. I've also heard good things about the buffet. Small store front restaurant with friendly customer service and great food, beautiful plates, not to mention generous portions. I took my god-daughter who is allergic to tree nuts and I'm vegan; we both had lots of options and they were helpful identifying ingredients in various dishes. We stayed a long time to visit; we didn't feel rushed and there wasn't any loud background music. The only thing I would suggest is spiffing up the inside: cleaner, less cluttered, update some furnishings. Even with that suggestion I still give them 5 stars - that would just put them over the top. read more

So pumped to have a new Indian place close to Lowry. They are very nice folks making delicious food. We called our order in and it was ready on time. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Chicken Korma with a side of garlic naan. We ordered them spicy and medium, and they were both really spicy. I guess the spicy one was a little more spicy than the medium, but not much. Regardless, great flavor and lots of food for leftovers. Looks like they are applying for a liquor license. Until then, it's probably best for takeout/delivery. They still need to decorate their interior a bit more. They are running AMAZING deals right now, will be back soon and ordering medium spicy level next time. After eating some leftovers I had to bump up my rating to 4 stars. I love this place. I have both dined in the restaurant and have ordered delivery (through grubhub) and have been extremely happy every time I eat their food! First, the restaurant experience. They are a fairly new Indian restaurant to the area so I wasn't surprised that the atmosphere in the restaurant was not the best, but the atmosphere is not why I eat here. It's the FOOD and it's incredible. Their chicken Jalfrazie, naan, chai, and samosas are to die for. Their service is very on-point, very attentive without being too much. Very neutral, which I find refreshing. The delivery experience was amazing. I'm always hesitant to order delivery because my apartment complex has multiple buildings and most drivers get confused so I usually have to go hunting for them, BUT this guy was waiting IN my lobby IN my building. It was SO EASY. The food also came in 30 mins when usually GrubHub estimates an hour, so it was very fast! The samosas were still hot and crispy. I LOVE this place. Highly recommended. Two stars for their buffet. I came here about a year ago and I was super delighted with their buffet food then, and today I was just disappointed. The entire buffet line was tasteless. The chicken was only dark meat no white meat. I am aware not everyone likes white meat but come on have at least a one chicken dish with white meat. Despite that I decided to give a try to all their chicken dishes and it was a total let down, to get a better perspective the naan was the only good thing I had there. We came here on a night when we didn't have much time and the service was slower than expected, especially since there were not many people in the restaurant. That being said, the food was great!! The portions were pretty big and we had quite a bit of left overs to take home. We got the biryani and tikka masala. Both were delicious. Sometimes biriyani can be oily but it was not at all here. I'd driven by here quite frequently but never stopped in for dinner. It took a Groupon to get me to eat there finally, but I'm glad I did! The reviews for this place are all over the board, though mainly the issues appear to stem from deliveries, so I'm doing my part to encourage you to eat here. Stopped in on a random Wednesday night and it wasn't busy at all, so we had friendly service and our food came out pretty quickly. It was very good, not overly sweetened or "Americanized" like some Indian places do in order to try and cater to white people's palates. Bonus points for the red sauce that came with the samosas - this was excellent. While the menu isn't anything out of the ordinary, that means you can find all your usual standbys here. I'll certainly want to come back and try some more of mine. Tip: they lean on the spicier side, so scale down your order accordingly if you don't want your dish that hot. When we first ordered Taz Indian we were very happy, the food was great and so was the delivery time. Then the second time we ordered, it was completely different, the chicken tikka was a lot less flavorful and the women who answered could not understand a word my boyfriend said to her so she would have him repeat our address over and over. This has happened every time we placed an order since then. Today after spelling a simple street name to her about 5 different times, he asked for someone else so they could get our address and she refused. The phone call took 15 mins before we could even order the actual food. Bottom line they went downhill and are incompetent and now also very rude. read more

I recently moved to Denver area and was surprised to find not many Indian restaurants. Thankfully, we found Taz Indian, and it's delicious! The food was great! The service (delivery was awful) He knocked on the door, demanding for his tip right away. I could barely understand what he was saying too. I tried to explain to him that I put his tip on line and still kept demanding for his tip! Saying something about how my upstairs neighbor owes him a $10 tip, and that I need to give him a tip. I felt harassed and the worst part is, I am alone with a 1 year old and a 2 year old. He scared the living crap out of me when he kept talking and yelling about his tip and I couldn't even explain myself to him, because he kept talking over me. I gave them the benefit of the doubt after the first visit (when we were stomach sick) and went today because it is close and convenient .....but that was a huge mistake! We (my coworkers and i) ordered chicken curry. The chicken was definitely uncooked/raw!!! When we got the order they apologized, said they would let the cook know and would refund us. Great service. The hostess immediately set us up and was very nice and even kidded with us. The interior is modern but retains a warmth. We did the lunch buffet. There was a nice selection. The vegetables seemed much fresher than other places we've been. They also had a nice alternative to the tikka masala standard and offered a tasty chicken korma. We order delivery from here pretty regularly. It's most definitely the best of the options we have for Indian food to be delivered in our neck of the woods. The food doesn't disappoint, it's a little on the slow side when it comes to the delivery itself, but we do find ourselves enjoying a bi-monthly meal from here on the "I don't wanna cook" nights. Our usual order is garlic naan, samosas, lamb vindaloo, and chicken korma. I always have a gripe that things aren't hot enough for me, but their extra hot seems to be enough for Jess to avoid, so I'll take partial blame for that part. read more

I should start out by saying that Taz take out is pretty much a bi weekly staple in our home. I absolutely love their food and their menu is wide ranging. Seriously, it's so good I feel completely comfortable being adventurous with trying dishes I've never had. My mom treated me to lunch at the restaurant. It was the first time I had ever been inside of it. They have an all you can eat lunch buffet that is crazy cheap! The buffet has a pretty decent selection. I had curry, saag, carrot pudding, naan, even chai tea! There was quite a bit more than that but I had a wee bit of food coma so don't remember all of it. I will tell you that with their take out they have some excellent lamb dishes and I love their chicken biyrani and the aloo gobi. The service in the restaurant is fast and friendly and the delivery time is always faster than what is estimated on grubhub! Take away or dine in, this place is excellent! read more

We live in Stapleton and decided to venture out of our normal bubble this evening. This place is great! It wasn't too crowded, but still was humming with take out orders. I got the Vegetable Curry - very good. My Girlfriend got Tandoori chicken which was also very good. We also ordered Naan and Roti. The service was great and they didn't try to pressure us into ordering alcoholic drinks which seems to be common these days. I highly recommend Taz and will be back soon. read more
