Grilled Chicken Basil-Pesto Gyro
Kara H.

My husband got the lamb gyro and I got the chicken pesto. Both were good- the meat was well seasoned and tender, the sauces had lots of flavor. I struggled to decide which one was better honestly, they were both good. The cucumber salad and pasta salad were both sprinkled with feta cheese, and they were also served with a side of chips (which I didn't care for). Service at the counter was quick and friendly. Overall, a good restaurant and I would definitely return to try other dishes. I wish they offered a falafel though for vegetarian days.

Lamb gyro, chips, and rice.

For having spent my entire life in Colorado, there sure are a lot of super rad places I'm just recently discovering... and Taziki's is definitely one of them. BF and I hit this place up after a workout just down the street on a Saturday afternoon. We got in around 11:45 or so, but the lunch crowd hadn't yet arrived (yay!); parking was pretty busy for the other local eateries, so finding a spot in the shared lot took some time, but we managed to survive and make our way in to feast. The whole restaurant had a nest feel to it, and had really cool decorations. The ambiance was super mellow, and it was actually a little dim, which was quite calming; it totally didn't feel busy or part of the hustle and bustle that was happening just outside. It was its own little bubble. The menu was pretty big, so it made choosing a meal a little tough for me (but I also take forever to decide what I want, anyway, so I guess it's just a personal problem lol), but I settled on a grilled chicken gyro and chose their tomato and cucumber salad as my side. Since we were in for lunch, the meal came with potato chips, too. My love opted for the lamb gyro and chose rice as his side. We paid (came out to about $25, give or take), took our number, and found a cozy booth to post up in until our food came out. We weren't sitting for long when the sweet girl from the front brought out our lunch. It looked awesome! The presentation was so clean, and everything looked super yummy. I started with the salad, which was bomb. It was very refreshing, and tasted like it was super fresh, despite many of the ingredients being pickled lol. BF let me try a bite of his rice, too, and OMG. It was absolutely delicious! Somehow, the rice was buttery, but really fluffy and cooked to perfection. Super yum. Potato chips are pretty much potato chips wherever you go, but they weren't stale, so I appreciated that! Now on to the gyro. Packed full with fresh marinated chicken, tzaziki sauce, lettuce, tomato, and so on, it was BOMB. The pita was super warm, and the whole gyro was wrapped in deli paper, which made eating it a lot less messy than some other I've had in my life lol. BF loved his, too, and managed to eat the whole dang thing; I got about 1/3 of the way through and had to call it quits. Definitely worth every penny! I'd have made two full meals out of this, so you absolutely get what you pay for, in my opinion. Just as we were finishing up, the dining area began to fill up rather quickly. This seems to be a pretty popular place, and I totally understand why! I know I will mos def be back here!

If I could give it 3.5, I would. The food seemed really average. When the best response to an item is "not bad" or "interesting", it's telling. We placed an order in the evening at the restaurant for carry out. We waited about 20 minutes for it. Not terrible but there weren't many other people there either. The whipped feta was the most interesting option. It comes with pita (or veggies for an up charge) and honey. The Mediterranean salad had some wilted/slimy pieces of lettuce that had to be picked out. Never sets a great tone when that happens. The veggie gyro was not bad, but also not super exciting. It came with a side of some generic chips (Lays?) and a side of choice. The basmati rice had something mixed in that was not anticipated, and we think it was vinegar but not sure. The baklava was hard and chewy but had great flavor. Maybe it had been sitting out for several hours. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be returning.

A "four person feast"
Annie M.

Ordered A "four person feast" and got this; made of *3* small and tough lamb slices, two cucumber slices, two tomato slices, a small dip, one olive, and 6 small leaves of pita. Enough to feed an army of ants maybe, but this wouldn't even fill one person if they were really hungry. It was *okay* but they also forgot to add my drink and that was pretty disappointing.

Taziki Dip Grilled Chicken Basil-Pesto Gyro Greek Salad with Shrimp Kebobs

10/10 would recommend. First time trying Taziki's and ordered curbside, wonderfully packaged. Ordered a basil pesto chicken gyro, greek salad with shrimp and taziki/pita appetizer and were blown away. Everything was seasoned very well and was super filling. Definitely will be back.

Okay this place is a nice fast-casual. The Panera bread of Mediterranean. The food- was outstanding. Incredibly delicious salad with really really good shrimp. My fiancé also enjoyed his gyro sandwich. The restaurant is clean and service was really good. Only downside is it took about 10-15 minutes to get our food. However it was busy and when we placed our order, we were told it would take a while. also wish they didn't serve their drinks in styrofoam cups. Just my personal preference that they make horrible sounds and it seems like it would make sense to serve drinks in regular cups for dine-in guests.

Way too much onion

They're usually very nice people and service is usually wonderful but not consistent here but tonight was different. Their food isn't terrible. I just now had one of the worst delivery experiences. We ordered a lot of food for delivery, a lot of dip and extra pita. They didn't give us any pita and when I called they said they didn't have any drivers to send us pita so we had 7 different humus dips with nothing to eat it with. We ordered 2 salads and had to pick everything out, they pounded on the onion. It was like an onion salad with 3 cucumber slices.

The service here is absolutely awful, and the FOH management is a disgrace to the food served here. How sad, I used to love this place :(

Many more had shown up here before we left, however. As it was happy hour, we tried three different appetizers: falafel with hummus, dolmas, and harissa carrots. All were delicious and ended up being rather filling. My wife and I both had the lamb gyros, while my daughter had the chicken shawarma. While the dishes didn't appear to be a huge amount of food, they ended up being plenty. Everything had really nice flavor. As it was my wife's birthday, she got the free baklava for dessert. My daughter and I both thought it was fantastic...maybe one of the better baklavas we've had in a long time. My wife thought it was fine but has had other versions she'd liked better. Service was quick and strong from the start. All food came out surprisingly fast. We'd come here again if on/near Tennyson Street and in the mood for a good Mediterranean experience.

This place is DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFUL. I got the gyro plate and my friend got a falafel sandwich,…read moreand together we paid about $38 + tip for our meals. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because the price differential between these two items is about $5 and instead of itemizing our receipts, our waiter just split it in two, overcharging my friend and undercharging me. It seemed very incongruent to the rest of our otherwise excellent experience here.

Well that was amazingly delicious! My wife and I loved the food here. We're both big fans of middle…read moreeastern/mediterranean food and this was some of the best in Denver hands down. The flavor on everything is elevated and fresh!! We had hummus w/pita, falafel, and fries to start. Amazing falafel! Perfectly crispy outside and pillowy inside. For entrees, I had the lamb gyro which was one of the best I've had. The lamb is perfection and they wrap it in a roti instead of pita which was absolutely the move! The house-made pickled veggies served with it were amazing as well and really balanced the nice waiting of the lamb gyro. My wife got the Caesar salad with chicken Shawarma. That was Incredible as well! Try a side of the Harrissa in the zhug sauces to add a little fresh heat! The restaurant has great ambience with some Moroccan type vibes and a great patio. There is a 20% service charge automatically added to every check which is what it is. But for this level of flavor, it's worth it plus tip!

This place started as a 5 star experience and slowly worked its way down to 3…read more The hummus, fresh pita, shishito peppers, cocktails, and front of house service were all excellent. The bartenders and waitstaff were attentive, friendly, and professional. If I were rating only those things, this would be an easy 5 stars. Then the yellow rice arrived cold and crusty. We sent it back. It came back slightly improved but still not properly hot. After a few bites, we found a piece of plastic in it. The half chicken was a mixed bag. The crispy skin was delicious and well seasoned, but the chicken itself was served only lukewarm. Some pieces were moist and enjoyable, while others, especially toward the end, were noticeably dry. It wasn't bad, but had I known it would be served that way, I probably would have ordered something else. The kitchen issues alone would have dropped this to 4 stars. What pushed it down to 3 stars was the billing. A 20% service charge had already been added, yet the payment process still encouraged an additional tip. If you're not paying close attention, it's very easy to leave 40% on an already expensive meal. Whether intentional or not, it feels confusing and misleading. Even if it's disclosed somewhere on the menu, that doesn't make it customer friendly. Customers should not have to do math or hunt through fine print like a budget airlines to figure out what their meal actually costs. Build your labor costs into the menu price and be transparent. Surprise fees create frustration and leave customers feeling misled, regardless of how many disclaimers are printed. To their credit, they removed a couple of drinks from the bill, and I want to be clear that the staff handled the situation professionally. The problem was not the servers. The problem was a kitchen that missed the mark and a shady billing practice that leaves customers with a bad taste in their mouth at the end of the meal. Great hummus. Great pita. Great cocktails. Great service. Cold rice. Plastic in the food. A chicken dish that didn't quite live up to the hype. Confusing service fees. That's how a restaurant that could have been 5 stars ends up with 3.
