Stopped in with the kids after dinner at Jack's. The inside is very small but perhaps there is some seating upstairs. We got a kids mango sorbet and Oreo ice cream with waffle cone. There is easy parking in the front, but you might need to wrap around once or twice just because there's many other places around the area. I prefer places like Yogurt Mountain where you can dish your own toppings - and decide how much yogurt you want in the cup. This location is at the end of a commercial mall, you have the option of going in or going through the drive-through. On the day that I went, it looked like everybody chose the drive-through. There was only one worker who despite working the drive through window, the front register and making the yogurt she was very pleasant & handled it like a champ. They had several yogurt options as well as sherbet and a lot of different toppings from candy, nuts & fruit. read more

Made a major mistake and tried to go through the drive thru: You have to do better than serve 2 cars in 45 minutes. Four cars including mine backed out and left. Terrible service. The yogurt was good BUT the place is disgusting and greasy. The floors haven't been swept or mopped in what seems like years. The stench is repulsive. The bathroom makes a seedy interstate restroom look clean. The employee did not use gloves to serve our yogurt. He had been handling his phone when we walked in and I'm assuming he was responsible for the devastating episode and damages in the bathroom. Wet toilet paper on the floor, explosive matter on the toilet and an overall indescribable lack of cleanliness. The floors are sticky, the entrance floor mat hasn't been cleaned in years and the counters are filthy. We have been going for years only through the drive through. TCBY used to be my main go to. The past few times I've been have been a letdown. Last week I went through the drive through and I was the only customer and it took forever for the worker to take my order. I had a small cup of vanilla with two toppings and it was almost $6 which I thought was a little high. The drive thru is different because it's on the passenger side and you put your money in a plastic tub to pass back and forth. I'm slightly ocd about germs and it bothered me that they put the silverware in the tub that the loose money had been in. I personally think money is dirty so that drove me nuts! It is pretty much impossible for me to not LOVE an ice cream or froyo place. I like a change from the self serve types sometimes, but TCBY still has plenty of flavors for variety as well specialty items on their menu. I love their refreshingly fruity sorbets like watermelon and ruby red grapefruit as well as their richer white chocolate mousse froyos. I had their brownie sundae on my last visit, and it was a bit too sweet for me so I may stick to their light and fruity items. One other thing I thought could improve was the interior of the store. It's not the most inviting place if you want customers to eat there. I enjoy the new and clean atmospheres of places like Yogurt Mountain better. Homewood has so many ice cream places, so renovating the interior would do wonders for their business! When I was there, I saw a couple of 12 year old boys staring in my direction with the hugest smiles on their faces and pointing at me. I know I look young, but I was in my work scrubs so I thought SURELY they would know I was too old for them! They walk over to me, then past me to open the refrigerator. Homewood, please help this guy. If you do not rally around this struggling business. I am going to recommend the health department to stop by. You would think, with the Cares Act money the owner would purchase the plexiglass like subway and other individually owned businesses. No, not this guy. The owner has two crates with blue strips of tape roped together with a wet floor sign in the middle. There was an old banana and dirty knife on the counter. We also noticed he did not wipe the counters after all the customers left. We have pics and videos to prove it. The entrance doors are nasty as well as the floors. This is by far the best ice cream experience I have had in Birmingham, Alabama. Miriam A was my server and her personality was one like no other. Her smiling face when I walked in made me feel right at home. She was very knowledgeable about all the ice cream flavored and told me her recommendations. I really like this place. The owner/manager is young and very nice. He's been there every time I've visited. The desserts and products are delicious. This place was absolutely disgusting! The floors were a beige color when I'm pretty sure they are supposed to be white. The floors and the counter tops were all littered with toppings and stains that looks like they had been there since the day before. The hot fudge that the server scooped out of the heater was chunky and it also smelled and tasted disgusting. Any who, also while I was sitting at the table eating I had AT LEAST THREE roaches crawl across my foot. I personally could not get out of this place fast enough. I have been to this store multiple times and it has been absolutely atrocious. The male manager, Jack I believe, looked at my chest the entire time I was ordering, sat down upstairs, and ate the subpar frozen yogurt. The only time I have seen clean tables was when he walked upstairs to "clean them," but he continued to stare at my chest. I felt sexually harassed and he was extremely rude to his college-aged workers. I have never seen the floor clean, and the bathroom looked like an Ebola victim died in there.
