Got there about 15 min early and as soon as we walked in the spa it looked more like a storage more than anything. Not inviting at all. No one was at the register . The place just looked a little sketch. We got the Groupon for 2 45 min head scalp treatment . I was thinking they weee gonna check the health of the scalp but nothing like that . They had us change to these wraps as to not get our clothes wet. It was more like a shampoo at a salon than a scalp treatment. They didn't say what they were putting on the scalp just proceeded to just scratch my head I think was the most accurate description of the whole experience. This time I decided to try the "Ultimate Deluxe (keratin/brazilian blowout treatment)"and it left my hair with the worst damage ever. I take care of my hair very well, hair mask, vitamins, a routine for bedtime, etc. Now, after this treatment the condition of my hair is really bad. I don't think I will be able to do anything to save my hair. The damage is very visible. 4.5 rounded up. Yes, I agree there are things to improve here, but it's by far the most relaxing head spa I've visited around the Bay Area, no competition! Lots of potential here. The location's in the corner of a small plaza, there's lots of parking spaces. The Groupon I bought was "75 Min Classic Package: 30 Min Express Glow Boost Facial + 45 Min Head Spa Treatment." Pro's: 1. staff was really lovely and worked hard. My tech was ~LIEN~, and she provided a very relaxing session, to the point that I dozed off. You know a spa is successful when you fall asleep :) There were tea and snacks offered too, which I appreciate! 2. lots of great face, head, and shoulders massage - this is the highlight for me. I know some people want actual treatment (understandable), but for me, I want more of the relaxation factor, so a good massage is actually the most important part for me, and they delivered. I felt a lot of tension leave my head and neck. Con's (basically, they can be more polished): 1. the space feels unfinished. The front room is huge but empty. I think adding a couch, a small fountain thing, and some plants would pull it together. 2. the back room is tiny and all the beds are right next to each other, separated by thin curtains. It can feel a bit claustrophobic. I recommend they make the back room much bigger (expand into the front?), put more distance between the beds, and separate with thick noise-cancelling curtains. 3. the staff is Vietnamese, and there can be some language barrier. To this, I say be patient and use Google Translate if you need to. If there's something you want, speak up! They're very willing to work with you! I did feel like I have to take charge of the conversation a bit more when making the appt, etc. But again, they were very nice. 4. I showed up on time, but my appt was delayed for about 30 min, and no one was in the lobby to greet me during the first 15 min. This speaks to lacking on both the receptionist and the operational ends. I ended up taking out my laptop to work. I'm not upset about this - but this was what I meant about details needing polishing. 5. the treatment: I preferred hotter water, and there were many moments when I was cold because my shoulders were wet but left uncovered (I actually did get a cold from this). I think they should ask customers' water temp preference. Sometimes there's too much water used, and a bit got in my ear. 6. There were lots of interesting tools used, so the ASMR was great! But each tool was only used briefly; I would've loved for all the tools to be used for a longer time! Also, since this was a head spa, I think there could've been more head massage. In terms of "treatment," I can't speak to how "effective" it was, since I wasn't looking for an actual treatment, just to relax. This place isn't as good as the best head spas I've visited in LA, and yes, they can improve some things to be more polished... but it's still the best head spa I've been to in the Bay Area by a long shot. There's a lot of potential here, and the staff is wonderful. I'd love to return for more relaxation! Side note: don't expect a 5-star spa and don't be a-holes to them, like this nasty Karen I saw who was raging about how they dried her hair without her permission (like, you have a mouth, you can speak up? They didn't tie you down and force it on you). These are immigrants working hard to make a living. Go somewhere else if you want a perfectly well-oiled machine. But if you're patient and don't mind some rough edges, I think this is a great place to visit for some relaxation. read more

overall, it was a good experience. I did use a Groupon to try out this place. The service itself was great, and the making of the appointment and follow up before the appointment was fine. The actual taking care of me during the service was lovely and relaxing. My only two concerns are that one, they're in the middle of the renovation and finding the place is very confusing and the actual service area is very tight with makeshift curtains so it's not the easiest situation to get there and to get the service started, but once the service was started, it was great. My other concern, two, is that while I can understand every personal service has its own margin of possible skin sensitivity I had a horrible allergic reaction to the products the day after. while, I don't think that there's any way to know exactly what products would've made me allergic. My suggestion is that the business might want to disclose certain products/ ingredients or at least give warning as I definitely didn't sign anything or was consulted on what products we're gonna be used particularly on my face. I originally booked this appointment because I've done a head spa before and usually a facial is pretty minor with minimal products but this particular service seem to be more facial than scalp massage and way more products going onto my face and chest then on my scalp. Then my skin, my face, neck, and back broke out really badly. I had to take a Benadryl and use hydrocortisone for two days after I almost went to the ER because my face felt like it was on fire for awhile I thought I was having a food allergy, which I don't have any, but then my family member pointed out. It must be a reaction to the facial cause that's the only thing different. I had done in the last 24 hours. Unfortunately, because of this particular experience, I do have to reflect that in my review and stars. read more

I found TD Beauty Spa through Groupon and got the hair + facial spa treatment for my mom and aunt. Their appointments were with Lien and Jessica and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. My aunt wanted to do it again and bought the same Groupon and invited me to tag along. Note: They said you can call them before buying the Groupon and they'll try to match the current deal price. Go this route if you can so more goes toward the business. My appointment was with Jessica while my aunt booked Lien again. Our appointment started about 20 mins late while they were finishing up, but our session still went about 75 mins. There's two flat beds with a head sink, divided by a moving curtain in the middle. You remove your top and use the blanket they give you to cover up so your clothing doesn't get wet. It's my first time getting any sort of hair/facial treatment, so my dumb ass laid down with my feet hovering the head sink like I was giving birth. I don't know what the specifics are, but there's a lot of lathering of the hair and cleanser on the face, and they massage it while they work it in. I told them I tried blackhead strips but they don't seem to work, so I paid $5 to remove blackheads. She used this tool that pushed against my nose to get them out. The left side was fine, but the right side hurt like a mother. My eyes were covered with wet pads while she did this, kind of like in the movies where they cover their eyes with cucumbers. She stopped and asked if I was crying. I honestly did not know. I said it was either tears or it's the pad, but that right side hurt like hell. Then they got like weird alien sounds that are suppose to make you relax. Then there's fly zapping sounds that were actually red light therapy. Lien and Jessica speak English and Vietnamese, so that's cool if you've got Viet family that want to try it and converse at the same time. The experience is a good deal if you can get the Groupon prices. I honestly have no idea what was done to my face, but I did see the dirt that came out of my nose. My aunt enjoyed both times and already plans to check them out again in the future. read more

I've been wanting to try the viral head spa treatment forever and I finally went. I looked up on yelp what spa was close to where I live. This place was located right by me so win. Huge parking lot. A bunch of other shops in the same center. You won't see a big sign though that says TD Beauty Spa. It will say the eye lash place first but another side door with the TS Beauty Spa. Walked in and it was long. Different sections are separated with curtains, but they can accommodate up to 4 head spa treatments at one time. All the ladies here were very nice. I told her it was my first time and after my treatment it's not going to be my last! It was everything I could imagine. i got the head spa treatment along with a mini facial. And it was so good, I napped! This spa offers so much. Nails, wax, massage, eyebrow tint, eye lash, head spa, facials. So awesome you could do all of it in one spot. They were offering a great deal for head space treatments. Buy 5 and you can get it for cheaper. I can't wait to do this again! When I was done they offered hot tea and yogurt. Awesome first time experience with the Radiant Revival (head spa and mini facial). Tammy's skilled hands made me feel at ease and super comfortable, I almost fell asleep. My skin feels amazing after the relaxing facial and my scalp very clean. I'd definitely go back again! I do tend to have sensitive skin but nothing they used irritated my skin, in fact my skin feels very soft :) Other reviews noted this already but FYI it is not a private space, know that there are curtains separating the beds so in terms of privacy it could be uncomfortable if there are others. That said i went early in the morning so i didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Definitely thinking of making this spot part of my regular self-care! read more
