Drinks at TeaSpots taste great in comparison with other boba places that I've tried so far and I haven't tried too many. However, this location and the plaza in general is dirty, disgusting and the parking a tight squeeze. The area marked with "no parking" so you can eventually leave this place is always blocked. When you enter TeaSpots you're immediately greeted by what smells like sewer. Then you place your order and ask for "no ice" or something else but receive the wrong order 3 out of 5 times. Or you wait for your drink for 7 minutes before someone tells you "sorry we're out of boba" and that they need to cook some more which will take 15 minutes... well, why didn't you start cooking when you were running low? Overall, drinks are good when they're made right. Employees are nice, but customer service is bad. This location is too dirty and unsanitary for food&drink sales. It should perhaps be re-zoned /overlayed for automotive or other uses. read more

tl;dr: Decent to good food, nice clean place, food is a fair price for the large portions, boba is a bit expensive, though I don't know how it compares with other places in the area. Take spice warnings seriously. Came here with family while visiting my sister. I ordered the lemongrass pork chop with rice and coconut milk tea with boba. Lemongrass pork chop was super flavorful, I definitely recommend it. I ordered the milk tea half sweet, still was pretty sweet, and there were bits of what I assumed was sweetened dried coconut at the bottom. Not sure how I feel about that last bit. Boba costs extra here, so be aware, use the Yelp Check-in discount. I also tried the calamari and the seasoned fries. Calamari was pretty bland and slightly rubbery, but not terrible. My sister loved the fries, but be warned that they don't lie when they say spicy. It's heavily seasoned with cayenne pepper if you order it spicy, so much so that I, who love spice, coughed when I tried one. So take the guy at the counter seriously when he recommends you get it regular your first time and add cayenne pepper that's at the counter if you want more. Other than that, my sister got some spicy beef noodle dish - huge portions, and VERY spicy according to her. Other sister got the teriyaki meatball dish with rice, and everyone who tried it liked it. Things are a bit pricey, probably because it's really close to PCC. I never tried the food but it looks alright. I don't like how the price of their regular milk tea is so high compared to other places. It's like $2.75 for it and you have to pay extra (50 cents I think?) for boba. The milk tea isn't even that great because they use artificial milk tea powders of some sorts. Maybe I'd go again to try the food but I wouldn't buy a drink here. I'm not a Boba fan, so I really can't rate that aspect, but I loved my Thai tea smoothie, and my kids loved their banana milk and lemon italian soda. My friend who was with us is a huge Boba fan (the whole reason we had to come here), and agreed that it was a "four star" experience. We went one other time, and the service was less than ideal... one person taking orders AND making the drinks, and she waited until she had taken all eight orders in line before making any of the orders up. Probably now my favorite boba place in Pasadena. The boba balls were the perfect consistency and the lady who made them was very nice. She even put them in a bag for me and stacked them on top of each other with the top one upside-down for stability. Genius! For some reason I never thought of doing that for transport. There was lots of seating that looked very comfortable and would probably be a nice place to sit and read while enjoying boba. I give 4-stars because it's conveniently open late and down the street, meaning I'm always here. The lack of star is the fact that it's cash only and the boba isn't warm and chewy, as I desire. My item of choice is the fried tempura (spicy) with a side of passion fruit green tea with boba. Just had the lunch special today for $5.99 Hong Kong Style Soy Sauce Chicken. The chicken is made of solely the thigh. It tasted pretty good...and too salty and kind of tasty. The sides are also just OK. Minced pork and sauteed vegies! The pork was a bit greasy and the vegies were kind of bland. The worst part of the meal was the rice and the drink. The rice was clumped together and hard for me to separate. Signally that it wasnt too fresh. The oolong tea I had was too sweet and it had a weird taste...definitely not a good oolong tea for sure. Just tried this place out for boba recently with my boyfriend and was pleasantly surprised! This place is sort of hidden (in my opinion). I remember originally wanting to go to Half & Half and he took me here instead. However I ordered the Passionfruit green tea (one of my standard and favorite drinks to get at any boba place) with lychee jelly. It was pretty good and decently priced-around $4 something. My boyfriend got their rose milk tea with no boba. The inside is pretty clean and most of the customers come in to grab a drink & study. Service was pretty nice too. Pretty standard boba place in the area, but I don't think it's really something super special. It was good but I would honestly rate this place a 3.5 stars. An employee accidentally spill a drink all over my bag with my laptop and papers inside, but that does not stop me from giving this place a decent rating. Went here two days in a row and I've enjoyed the tapioca milk tea, especially with the pudding. Don't forget to check in to get your free boba add on or pudding in your drink! I absolutely loved their boba/tapioca =) It is right down the street from my place and conveniently located across from PCC. I ordered the almond milk tea (my fav at any boba/tapioca place) and my mom ordered the avocado smoothie (her favorite). They used FRESH fruit for my mom's avocado drink which is new because at tapioca express and lollicup they use powder. My mom LOVED her drink. She finished it by the time we got home. The only down fall to this place is that the parking is very limited. The spaces are small. It is located in between Jack in the Box and Carls JR so I suppose you could park there, but they aren't in the SAME LOT!!! Both flavors are delicious. The guy helping us at the front was very patient, informative and hospitable. He even gave us his honest recommendation on the flavors when we asked. The first one came out within 5 minutes. The second one probably after another 10 minutes.. they got busier all of a sudden. We checked in a got a free topping. I came in the day before mid-terms to cram, and ended spending around $40 for 2 people LOL. I ordered XL 2 taro milk teas with boba, 1 Iced white chocolate mocha 1 soba noodles, 1 popcorn chicken, and fries. I had a weird problem with my iced white chocolate mocha and there were these weird chunks at the bottom but I was cramming so hard I didn't even consider mentioning it to the people that made the drinks. I just pulled my straw higher and sipped the coffee instead *hopefully just a 1 time thing*. Has a really nice study environment inside but we were sitting by the restroom and it got extremely cold for some reason, so tip: bring a jacket. They have free lemon water and till this day I still don't know the WiFi password, so if anyone could tell me that'd be great :) I definitely am going to try and come here more because the drinks here are way more affordable then the other boba shops.
