It's Jumbo Jumbo Cafe! How could anyone not resist going to a place with that as it's name? I ventured all the way from VA just to try this place out ( and hang out with friends ) but this was definitely worth it. It's a small cafe, with a small parking lot next to a gas station. When I went here, there was ample parking but don't let the one hour limit scare you. I'm sure you won't find a lot of people here on a Sunday afternoon.. I got the usual, Passionfruit Green Tea with Lychee Jelly. Of course, I got it in the biggest size because why not? Go big or go home right? Drinking it however, it didn't feel any different compared to the other boba places I've went to. The taste felt the same but hey.. you get a lot for what you pay for right? It's okay. I feel like the food is probably the star here. For me, the Taiwanese Fried Chicken was what I was mainly here for. You might be thinking, this is a lot of driving just for some chicken. Let me tell you this. These bite sized, juicy, succulent pieces of chicken will always be worth the trip no matter where I am. I absolutely love that it comes in a small bucket too. It's great as a way to share with your friends but me being someone who just loves food a bit too much, I ate it all along with drinking the tea I got too. If there's one thing I can say about the chicken though; it's not spicy at all. Maybe the other locations do it better but I did not feel the intense heat. That's fine though, I still enjoyed eating it. This is a must get whenever I'm in Germantown.

Friendly service, short wait for take-out orders, inviting interior (clean and modern, airy). However, food is definitely not the same as the Jumbo Jumbo in Rockville. Menu is much shorter and simpler, and the taste is definitely Americanized (unlike the authentic Jumbo Jumbo). Packaging is different too (still good packaging). The kumquat drink is still great (same taste as the branch in Rockville). The fried tempura is so bland that we didn't finish it. It's supposed to be our favorite dish. Don't order that one at this branch (the Rockville store is much better). Taiwanese popcorn is alright but not as good as those from Rockville. Not enough basil (love fried basil). Not enough spice. But not too bad ... Winter hours are 11 am to 7:30 pm

The chicken wings were mushy. It wasn't freshly fried but instead I think they just added some sauce on already battered wings. It was NOT GOOD! The Taiwanese chicken hasn't changed thankfully but no basil was added on top. I don't think I'll be going back any time soon.

I grabbed dinner with a friend for a sit down meal. The food was delicious and the service friendly. Parking was right in front of the store and free. The ambiance is light and inviting. Wishing it had more seating space but it did the trick. The chicken was tender and fried perfectly. I wouldn't mind ordering from the location again.

A cute little place! I got there right when they opened, so I had no wait to order and it only took a few minutes for my drink. I ordered a Pumpkin Spice Milk Tea, which is a seasonal menu item. They had a couple different toppings you could choose from for the drinks if you want them, so I added some boba to mine. The flavor itself wasn't really that strong, but it still tasted good. I just wish it was a little more pumpkin spice-y.

I've ordered take out/third-party delivery from Jumbo Jumbo a few times and we always order the pork chop combo. It comes with three pork chops, ground pork, boiled egg, house vegetables, and rice. We ordered the pork chop combo and taiwanese chicken (extra spicy; not pictured). Not that crispy by the time it was delivered, but it wasn't a big deal. Flavor-wise, both dishes were good. I always enjoy the pork chop combo.

Shaved ice with lychee, pudding and brown sugar.

Came here for boba but was tempted by the shaved ice and taro balls. They were so good! The shaved ice is HUGE and comes with 3 toppings of your choice. The taro balls were like fried donuts with tarp in the middle. The staff are really nice and are happy to explain their menu to you (the shaved ice isn't on the menu, but uses the same ingredients). I have had their chicken in past visits and love it. It is very small inside, but does have some indoor and outdoor seating.

    Chicken, noodles, bubble tea

We ordered jumbo jumbo the other day for the lunch special. They offered the chicken, noodles, and a small bubble tea. It came out to $15 each so we got 2 quantity. Honestly, this was my first time and I would say the food is ehh. Chicken was great but the noodles had no flavor. They just put the sauce at the bottom and even though I mixed it.. it was still in flavorful. I did not drink the bubble tea but my sister said it was good. Chicken is good and had flavor but noodles was .

They have amazing Taiwanese popcorn chicken! So so good. We asked for extra crispy and they certainly were! Perfectly seasoned and fried and super juicy chicken. They also gave us huge portions and it was great for the price. I also got brown sugar milk tea boba and it was tasty, too! The bubbles were a bit hard, but not bad. Would definitely come back to Jumbo Jumbo!

There has been times when my drink didn't come out the same as when I first bought them. So I guess it just depends on who is making the drink. This is a small little cafe that has some seats for you to sit and eat. Food I tried was yummy and the tiramisu latte is also one of my favorites. It was grossly sweet, so sweet that it genuinely made me a little nauseous. I only took two sips before asking if they could make it less sweet or possibly switch it for a matcha latte, which was the exact same price. I was asked if I was going to pay for a new drink, which I found frustrating. If the issue is with the drink itself, especially when I had barely touched it, I don't think the customer should have to pay again for a replacement of equal value. They offered to add more milk, but it didn't really help, and I was also told I'd have to pay if I wanted them to add more tea. At that point, it felt like there was no real effort to resolve the issue. I even had my friend try the drink, and she agreed that it didn't really taste like a Thai latte. To me, it tasted mostly like milk, food coloring, and an overwhelming amount of sugar. I also ordered a garlic cream cheese bread, which was good. Not the best I've had, but definitely not bad. I'd say their pastries are a step above their drinks based on my experience. I'm also in the service industry, so I try to be understanding when things aren't perfect. That's why the way this was handled bothered me more than the drink itself. This felt like a very easy situation to fix, and I would've handled it differently with a customer. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect some willingness to make a reasonable correction when a customer is clearly unhappy with something they've barely consumed. Overall, I probably won't be coming back. The staff were friendly, and it is a quiet place to study with free Wi-Fi, so I could see myself recommending it for grabbing a small pastry and getting some work done between classes. But for the prices, I don't think the quality or customer service was enough to make me want to return, especially when I can go to Tous Les Jours and get what I consider better quality for a similar price. I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately the drink and the way the situation was handled left a pretty bad impression.

I think not having a server was better than the food and drinks that were delivered. The "mimosa" (didn't even go for bottomless, so this is even more disappointing) was just orange juice. Check the color in the photo. $10ish for a glass of orange juice hurts my soul. Also, the pizza was soggier than my armpits on a summer day in Louisiana. But wait, there's more! We tried to get a glass of prosecco so I could mix it with my orange juice. My husband wound up going inside, ordering it and paying for it at the bar, all because the server was (once again) missing! Absolutely wild that it's faster to bypass the server when you have a table, and the place isn't even busy. Two stars because we were here another time and the server wasn't dreadful that time.

The employee who gave me my drink showed it to his supervisor I guess because quite a bit of the ice had melted. He was told, "it's fine, it sat" with a who cares attitude. I was fine with the drink as I was late and I had not asked for a remake. Since it was quite diluted on top, I went over to stir the drink and remove the cover. The supervisor looked over at me then proceeded to tell the employee that it's not their problem if it's not picked up on time, they just make them when we give them a time. His attitude was very much "screw them if they are late." As I was standing right across from him, I said, "I heard you." He approached the area that leads to the dining room and said "I was talking to him, mind your business." As I have worked in customer service, managed service employees, and hire service reps, my comment to him was simply to bring awareness that his "customer" should not be witness to his complete disregard for them or their purchase. He became very aggressive and told me to get my drink and get out. I asked for his name and he refused and continued to tell me to get out and don't come back. I shared that I would be reporting his behavior and he responded, good. You are trespassed. I asked for what reason? and was told that he didn't like my attitude and that unless I didn't have a problem with him then to get out and he would call the police if I ever came back. He proceeded to tell me that he had plenty of customers and didn't need my business as he has 5 stores. Truthfully, I am happy not to return to this store or any other if this is the level of service provided by your employees. On my previous visit, I waited almost 10 minutes for my drink after it was to be ready and I had no issues or complaints with the staff. Things happen and I assume they did not hold up my drink on purpose. To not be extended the same courtesy as a paying customer is beyond mind boggling. There are too many similar bakeries in this area for me to stress over this location, but poor service bothers me and this was far beyond poor service.

The cafe was beautifully decorated with marble tables, a ton of plants, and plenty of couches and cozy armchairs. There was a ton of natural light from the giant windows, but they also had a number of aesthetic hanging lights, some of which were exposed bulbs and others of which were in little wicker baskets. As far as the food and drink goes, I loved their latte. The coffee was rich and not overly acidic, and it was strong enough that you could still appreciate the chocolatey, nutty undertones under the generous helping of steamed milk and foam. I also loved the little heart sprinkle they added in the center of the mug -- such a cute final touch! My friend and I also split two of their savory items, the cheese arepa and spinach and feta empanada. The empanada was a little different than what I was used to, as it was super flaky and buttery, with an almost croissant or puff pastry-like dough. It was delicious and the savory feta went wonderfully with the spinach and the slightly peppery mayo-based sauce they served it with. The arepa was also lovely, with a generous helping of gooey melted cheese on top of the slightly chewy, slightly sweet corn-based flatbread.
