shredded chicken goop

Disappointed! 1 star is too many, The shredded chicken salad bowl was goop! i dont know what that protein was, but it definetly was not chicken! I threw it out after the first bite. The horchata was straight Milk! The nachos were soaked in gawd knows what!? We were part of a group order, so orders were missing, orders were bad. Tacos were the saddest things ive ever seen. I was excited for this place but was immediately let done.

This was a nice fusion spot of Asian and Mexican inspired cuisine with an added touch of boba teas. The store was way to find and the parking is a bit limited. I ordered the chimichangas, which had a lot of side of rice and pico de gallo. And topped with sour cream and guacamole, which was awesome. My husband had the Korean fried rice in a burrito, which proves you can put just about anything in a burrito.

The actual hours, unlike what they put on Yelp.....

Unlike the posted hours on Yelp they are only open until 6pm! Arrived to the place shut down at 6:40. Bummer! Change your hours on Yelp so others don't get hosed Teaqueria! Really wanted to try the food....

Visited the Teaqueria for the first time & was not disappointed! I order the chicken taquitos & a mango mojito tea. The flautas were the perfect size order for lunch & had great flavor! Served over a generous amount of rice. The rice wasn't my favorite but it's not bad. Just a little on the dry side for me. The mango mojito tea was good but super sweet. I would ask for less sweet next time. Also, they just dropped waffles on their menu for dessert and they looked yummy! I didn't try them this time but saw some others eating them and they said they were good. The prices were pretty good, and they have a patio area that is nice to enjoy when the weather is good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have some indoor dining but it's a little cozy so keep that in mind.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will be going back to try some other options in the future :)

Bacon and Rice burrito, nachos al pastor, steak quesadillas ... all wonderful with or without the sauce varieties. Must return.

Great service and delicious food. Repeat. This place is a gem and family owned, and would definitely return to try all the other great food items and drinks. I love the fusion.

I stumbled across this place while trying to figure out why so many Fire Trucks came from this area. I checked the website, it said 7pm closing, Google Maps said 6pm, Yelp said 6pm and when I got there at 5.30, they were taking the outside seating away. When I checked the hours inside, it said 6pm closing so totally confusing. I ordered the Burrito with Tofu, no cheese, no Sour-Cream (Whole-Food Plant-Based). It arrived and was partially open at both ends, I have no idea why taqueria's cannot wrap a burrito properly. It immediately started dripping and when I took a bite, I saw carrots and mung beans, both of which were not on the burrito menu. The menu says: Rice, Black Beans, Pico De Gallo, Sour Cream, Monterey Jack and pick of protein. It tasted okay, nothing to rave about. They started packing up as my Burrito arrived so I literally had to eat as fast as I could. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is more like a teen hang-out than a Cafe/Restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I won't be going back - disappointed!

Wanted to try a different taqueria in the neighborhood and this fusion boba/burrito joint popped up. Hip and modern interior with dark wood picnic tables and big screen tv's so definitely cater to that neighborhood and the Bellarmine clientele. Kept it simple (no boba) and ordered just the chicken chimichanga since its been years since I have had a chimichanga and for the price ($12) the portion was great as it was nicely filled up with chicken topped with guac and fried to a golden brown. The fried goodness sat on top of black beans, pico de gallo and a quinoa type spanish rice which paired well. I had it as a take out but it was a little soggy when I got home but still ok. Not sure I would return but if I have another chimichanga craving I have this place on my list. Funny thing as I waiting for my order there only 1 other couple sitting who already received their drinks and the server who just took my order, as I moved where I was seated closer to the counter asked me if I was waiting for my food order....I guess my order was not memorable.

My friend and I came here on a Tuesday evening for dinner. My friend recommended this place because they have good vegetarian options. The name is pretty cute, so I was intrigued. Food & Drinks: I got a strawberry horchata tea. It was good but not super memorable. I'm not sure if I would order it again. For food, I ordered the nachos with black beans. They also have a different vegetarian option that is tofu, edamame and other veggies, but I wanted to keep it simple with black beans this day. I enjoyed my nachos a lot. It is made with nacho cheese sauce, which I understand may not be for everyone. However, this is what I think of when I think of nachos. My friend ordered the vegetarian chimichanga. The portion size of the chimichanga was very generous. I tried a few bites and thought it was good. Service: When we arrived, there weren't too many people around. We were able to order at the counter right away. We took a seat outside once our drinks were ready. Our food came out shortly after. TL;DR - Boba tea + taqueria = Teaqueria! I'll need to find a drink here I love, but the food is good.

Clean place with nice decor. Beef taco is what you'd expect for a taco in the Bay! Delighted to dine here

Came here on a Friday evening and wasn't sure if I found the right place or not at first. Teaqueria is located right across from Bellarmine on the corner of the street. Parking lot is tiny, about 4 parking spots, so most likely you'll have to go with street parking. They have outdoor seating with a large tent for shade, and indoor dining option as well. The decorations and menu were colorful and fun with simple interior designs. The vibe was very comfortable and chill. They have a good amount of selections on their menu and the staff were young and friendly. Our party of two decided to go for their chimichanga, nachos, and quesadillas with two of their fruity drinks, yum! Portions and price were fair and I enjoyed the food. It was a treat to enjoy their Asian and Mexican fusion. After all, we live in the Bay with a diverse population! We enjoyed eating outdoors while chatting and saw a larger group competing to see who could finish their watermelon slice faster which was fun to watch. If you're ever craving for some good fusion of Asian and Mexican food, check out Teaqueria!

So delicious every single time and this time was no different. There's limited parking and you can either order inside or at the taco truck. There are areas to sit and wait for your order and tables to eat at. I ordered three al pastor tacos. There was a bit of a wait but it was worth it. So good as always. I literally scarfed my tacos down with salsa and grilled onions. My friend ordered a carne asada burrito which he said was super filling and the perfect amount of food. I ordered from the truck, then went into the store to collect my drink, and then came back out to sit in the dining area, where I also collected any sauces I wanted. Definitely need to work for your meal and get your steps in. The condiments and sauces are in a cart with plastic cups with lids provided. There weren't that many options of sauces when I ate here but it was fine. The birrias and lengua tacos were so good. All the tacos came with two small tortillas to hold in the heaping amount of meat. The horchata here is had more cream than I'm used to. Like more milk was added or something, not enough spices or flavors added in IMO. Ordering was easy, I felt rushed, but it was the waiting to hear my number that was difficult. Listening for the number in the dining area while the music was blasting was difficult, so it's better to wait by the truck. Parking is limited but there are always cars coming and going so if you can wait a little, a spot will open up.

I had never been here before, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm really glad I stopped. I ordered the carne asada burrito, and honestly, it was one of the best burritos I've ever had. The carne asada was cooked perfectly, tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The burrito was a great size, packed with fresh ingredients, and every bite was full of flavor. Their salsa and hot sauce were also absolutely delicious. They had the perfect amount of spice without overpowering the food, and they added even more flavor to an already amazing burrito. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their food and don't cut corners. The only small issue is that parking can be a little difficult in the area, but you should be able to find a spot nearby if you are patient. Trust me, the food is definitely worth the effort. I will absolutely be coming back to try more items from their menu. If you're in the Story and White area and looking for delicious, authentic Mexican food, I highly recommend stopping by Tacos Chenco. Food (3 stars) + Tripa tacos are very delicious. Some places make these crispy. It's not here but still yummy in my tummy. ~ Burritos with carne asada and pastor is pretty good. However wifey got really sick. It's Mother's Day today and she's stuck in bed. I ate 1/4 of her burrito but I'm fine. So not sure how to rate this. Taste is pretty good. We asked for no beans so it's a bit plain but I still enjoyed it. - Gringas is like a quesadilla with pastor. It's alright but not worth $10+. I'd rather get 3 tacos! - Carne asada meat has a nice Smokey flavor. However it's jerky like toughness and a bit dry. - Someone in another review was raving about this place having the best Al pastor. So all of that hype made it a bit of a downer since I find it mid. Service (3 stars) + Typical food truck style ordering but it's more of a trailer. They have a little salsa bar with about 4-5 sauce options. Ambiance (2 stars) - Too many loud cars passing while we're eating. I can barely have a conversation with the wifey not that we have a ton to talk about lol. - No restrooms nearby. Daughter had to use an emergency toilet that we bring. - Terrible parking where people park behind you and you can't get out quickly. Yes, it takes them awhile to realize they're in your way.

During this meal, I ordered the: -Chips and Salsa -Steak Fajitas -Cali Burrito with Asada (MY FAVORITE) -Crispy Tacos 3x with Asada -32oz Horchata The seasonings for their meat is extremely noticeable and doesn't overpower the flavor. The same can be said for the seasoning on the chips; it's extremely delicious. My biggest positive for this place is the portion sizes; they don't skimp out on the proteins! Their horchata tastes better than the ones I personally had in Mexico. When comparing this place to establishments like Chipotle, this place easily wins in terms of food quality/freshness and pricing. The Carne Asada, Suadero, and Al Pastor are all standouts, but the Al Pastor especially earns its spot. They serve it with pineapple, which is the way it's meant to be done and a detail that tells you they actually care about getting it right. These are easily some of the best tacos in San Jose, and I don't say that lightly given how much competition there is in the South Bay. But the drinks alone might be worth the trip. Their Horchata and Agua Fresca are genuinely among the best I've had anywhere in the Bay Area and that's a real statement in a region with no shortage of excellent options. The salsa bar is a nice bonus: a self-serve setup where you scoop what you want into containers, and they send you off with baggies of fresh cilantro and onion so you can finish the tacos exactly how you like them. They actively encourage you to take plenty, which tells you a lot about the kind of place this is. The staff is warm and welcoming on top of everything else. Truly one of the best taco trucks around. Don't sleep on it!!

Our waitress accidentally thought we had only ordered six tacos instead of twelve, so we initially received six tacos, one side of rice and beans, and were still waiting on our drinks. When she came by and noticed one of us wasn't eating, she asked if we were waiting on anything. We explained that we were still supposed to receive six more tacos, another side of rice and beans, and our drinks. I finally decided to give it a try after hearing about the restaurant from food reviewer Dave fiore text. As someone who absolutely loves tacos and is always on the hunt for great local taco spots, I was excited to see how this place compared to some of my favorites. I ordered four different tacos, and overall, they were pretty good. They weren't bad by any means, but they also didn't quite blow me away. The meat was cooked well, the tortillas were fresh, and the tacos had good flavor. The salsa was decent too, although I personally prefer something with a little more kick. Everyone has different tastes, so this is just my opinion. One thing I really appreciated was how clean and organized the restaurant was. You can tell they take pride in keeping the dining area nice and welcoming. The staff was friendly, and my food came out quickly. It's always a good sign when a restaurant pays attention to both cleanliness and customer service. I've eaten at a lot of taco places throughout the Bay Area, so I naturally compare every new place to some of my favorites. While El Halal Mexican Restaurant didn't make the top of my list, I still had a good experience and I'm glad I finally gave it a shot. Not every restaurant has to be your favorite to be worth visiting. I also like supporting family-owned businesses because I know how much hard work goes into running a local restaurant. They deserve credit for creating a clean, welcoming place and serving quality food. Will I come back? Maybe. If I do, I'd probably try something different on the menu instead of the tacos. Sometimes a restaurant's best dish isn't the first thing you order, and I'd be interested in seeing what else they have to offer. Overall, I'd give El Halal Mexican Restaurant a solid 4 out of 5 stars. It was a good experience, I'm happy I finally got to try it, and if you're in the Willow Glen area, it's worth stopping by and deciding for yourself.
