They took my car in with late notice Tuesday morning, had it fixed and back on the road by Tuesday afternoon so I could get to my new job on Wednesday morning. Wednesday when I was driving home from work, I started hearing an awful hissing sound behind the dash. The shop had already closed by the time I would have been making my call so I didn't know exactly what to do. I decided to meet them at the shop when it opened this morning because the guys were so good about getting the previous repair done. I was dreading the thought of having to pay for a second repair in such a short time period (but trust me, that is my luck), and I had resigned myself to that being my reality. I just talked with Jamie at the shop and he said they will be covering the expense for the second repair because they are convinced they should have seen the damage yesterday. Worst experience! My Audi S5 was backed into by a large…read moretruck, had front end damage and was not drivable. I had it towed to The Ultimate Paint Shop as I was told that is where the Audi Exchange in Highland Park sends vehicles for body work. The truck that hit me had State Farm and they agreed to cover the damage. After about 8 weeks and $16,000 they told me to come pick up my vehicle. I had someone drop me off and went in to get it. It looked really nice on the outside and had a full detail. Problem started when I got in and started to drive off. The car was pulling to the left...hard. So I brought it back and asked them to come for a test ride with me. They did and agreed with me that something was not right. I asked if anyone had taken the car for a test ride before releasing it to me in this unsafe condition. I got no answer. So now I had to take an Uber home as my ride had left and no one was willing to drive me. Problems continue; Apparently my car that was hit in the front end had additional damage that was not discovered as part of the initial inspection, the supplemental inspection and insuring repairs including adjusting or making sure the sensors were all working correctly. No one had noticed that the control rod or alignment was off. Not sure how anyone in this business would not notice that. I noticed it right away within a minute of driving it and I have no car experience at all. So now 2 more weeks later State farm is not going to cover this claim as it seems no one had talked to them about it and they thought I had taken the car home and brought it back days later. When I spoke with the adjuster at The Ultimate Shop she told me that there was nothing they could do. State Farm had now denied this part of the claim and they would not call them. They told me that they had sent over all the pictures and estimates and after that they wash their hands is it. Told me that I NEEDED to calm State Farm to get this resolved. So I asked the owner of The Ultimate Paint Shop to call me to discuss this. She called me back several days later and told me the same thing. Another week goes by and I have called State Farm many times I get the claims person who tells me they are not going to cover and I need to return my rental. At the next day. A few days later I call again and eventually get a manager on the phone who tells me that they will cover it but that they don't have any pictures and no estimate for repairs. She tells me she will call The Ultimate Paint Shop to get that information. Another week goes by and State farm gets the estimate that I sent them but still no pictures from The Ultimate Paint Shop. They are asking me why I drove the car home if it had front end alignment issues. I tell them I did not. They say they will have to investigate more. I eventually call my own insurance company who agreed to cover this damage that The Ultimate Paint Shop had failed to repair as part of the damage and they will just fight State Farm over it. So in conclusion The Ultimate Paint Shop told me that they had screwed up and delivered a car to me that was not road worthy but was not willing to do anything about it. After all they already had their $16,000.00 check

While, I would give my one-time experience with the mechanics a 0 star rating, I would give the follow-up by the ownership and absolute 6 star rating out of 5. That averages out to 3 stars. I would say that I have rarely seen this type of follow-up and care for their customers and their experiences from any other business. This was truly the example of good business practices. Mark compensated me for the outstanding bill associated with my issue and then some for my horrible day. I will assume my experience was an anomaly as I have never had this issue prior to this day. I thank Mark for reminding me that Casey is a family-owned business and a member of our community and I will do my part and continue to pledge my future business to their garage. My family and I have been getting our vehicles serviced at Sharp Autobody for over 30 years. Over…read morethat time, Sharp Autobody has been able to provide multiple services to all of our vehicles. My vehicles always come home cleaner than what they were when I brought them to the shop. They have been able to add decals to a Jeep Wrangler, running boards to a Dodge Durango, detail a few of our vehicles as well as replace and paint body parts from personal claims that we did not want to go through insurance, while other accidents we did use insurance. We are VERY pleased with the quality service, communication, personal care and how they help us save money. It was a great shock for me to find that they wrote me a note in my car mentioning that they replaced my licsence plate bulbs which I didn't even know where out! (Could have saved me from getting a violation.). Besides replacing them, they did this for me at no cost! You guys rock! Thank you for 5 STAR service! (Loved my quality loaner car too!)

Dealer said that the reservoir was overfilled. Hopefully, it was only with coolant. Not a great experience, I find that I can't recommend them. Nice and clean auto repair shop though! I find it strange that they did contact me to 'try to make it right', offering a $money certificate for their shop. But never admitted their mistake nor offer to just correct the present problem with the car. Maybe do a complete flush/replace/inspection of the coolant system? I hope that the younger technician does well striking out on his own, but I won't ever trust him again with my vehicles from this overall experience. Especially while including the phone followup, which actually hurt my opinion of this shop. The person on the phone didn't seem to know what they were talking about with car maintenance, nor what the problem was with my car after visiting their shop.

We recently had to send our manual car in because of some starting issues. They listened to some other problems my husband was noticing and let him know what else they could look at while they were down there. If it was something they could do easily, it would save them time from having to take the part out again and fix it later, then they would be able to offer a discount on the bundled repairs. If the issue was something that required them to be in a different part of the car, then they recommended we wait because it would cost more for the labor of looking/disassembling/reassembling. Totally reasonable! While they were fixing the car, they noticed something with the clutch that was making it wear faster. They provided a recommendation that would improve the engagement plus allow it to last longer. Anyway, the details are just to prove that they're great to work with. They communicate really well and make sure you're comfortable and educated with your options.
