We came here for the happy hour Mon-Fri 3-6pm. It's a small menu. We came on a Monday around 3pm. We tried the wines and they weren't that good. The clam chowder was good. But it's not on the happy hour menu though. They have both outdoor and indoor seatings. There's heaters outdoors. I was so hot from walking that I had to ask if we could sit at another table further away from the heat lamps. The manager was nice and let us move before we started ordering. The other half side of the outdoor dining area was closed off and the waitress didn't know what to do so the manager stepped up. Next time will have to come back to try the food. read more

There were five of us, three adults and two tweens. We had poke nachos and calamari appetizers. Those were good. Two adults had margaritas, and loved them! For dinner we had the following: 1. Cheeseburger & fries 2. The chicken sandwich 3. Teddy burger 4. Salmon sandwich 5. The plank salmon The food was ok. IMO, the 5 star Yelp! reviews do not represent the food. Maybe they represent the charm of the restaurant, tho the interior is cramped and it was sort of steamy when we were there, around 5:30p. Our server seemed overwhelmed. Oh my goodness! LOVED THIS PLACE! Right down to the cute bathrooms! We were seated right away! Super friendly staff. Drink menu is great, seem to special in margaritas but have a wide variety of cocktails! We both had the margarita flight, order the appetizers: lobster Mac, bacon wrapped dates, and loaded friends. Lobster Mac was 9/10 for me. There was nothing wrong with it but the lobster flavor is a little overwhelming (if you LOVE lobster, get it!) bacon wrapped dates with goat cheese.... 20/10! SOOO GOOD! The goat cheese flavor is present so if you don't like goat cheese of course this isn't your go to but if you like/love goat cheese, get them! Amazing!!!! Finally the loaded fries also 9/10. They were delish and honestly better than I was expecting based on the description. .... I'm just not a huge fan of ketchup and that's why I gave them a 9. Overall wonderful service. I didn't care too much for the fish and chips my date ordered (but I've never really cared much for fish and chips)...but those bacon wrapped dates and the wedge salad were MMMMMM! Fish and chips - a bit rubbery and dry Bacon wrapped dates - sweet and salty goodness! I think you should cook it a bit longer so to reduce the soft chewy fat of the bacon...but the taste is there! Nice sweet glaze/sauce, too Wedge salad - this was really good. Crunchy bacon pieces, avocado, cheese chunks, etc...it makes me wish more menus would bring back wedge salad. This one could be much bigger, though. The serving size is half a quartered wedge. I'm used to a full quartered wedge salad on menus that still have them...especially for the price here. The only thing I didn't like about this place had nothing to do with the Teddy's directly. I date an older white guy and we were seated near an older husband and wife couple who were staring at us the entire time, whispering and glaring at us. It could have ruined the experience of Teddy's for me, but in life you just have to rise above the ignorance of others. My skin looked flawless, my smile was a 10 and my date was handsome as fuck. Get over it and stop trying to ruin the experience for other people with your hate. I should have asked the waiter if we could move tables, but I've pushed myself not to cower in the face of evil. Just had lunch at Teddy's. First of all the restaurant is very cute and has a nice outdoor patio which is their main seating area. There are some tables inside as well.The hostess sat us at a nice table and gave us menus and that was probably the best part of the service. My friend and I ordered food from our server. She had the cioppino and I had the Cobb. I ordered ice-t and she ordered a glass of wine. The server input our straight forward order and that was it. We thanked him he said nothing and walked away. He clearly wasn't thrilled about being there. Drinks were delivered and shortly after so was our food.The food was good.The service was minimal. I guess people don't want to earn decent tips anymore. Carpinteria, CA 5 star Teddy's Tavern Burger $16.00 * this burger alone was worth the visit 100% grass fed beef topped with lettuces, tomato, crispy shallots, thick cut bacon, white cheddar, candied jalapeno mayo Fantastic burger ordered medium, flavorful, juicy, ordered with no salt which was perfect. Loved the butter lettuce on the burger. Served with a side of ketchup and delicious ranch dressing, this burger made it on the list of favorite burgers I have tried. Liked, not loved the fries which were salty and tasted frozen versus fresh but I could be wrong...nevertheless they were good but scant on the plate. We could not really taste the candied jalapeno mayo and were wondering if they even added it to the burger. We would have liked to have tried some of the mayo on the side but by the time we thought to ask, we were not able to flag down the wait staff to even ask. The ranch and ketchup were also great condiments paired with the burger. 3 stars service Service was slow, very slow when first seated, it took about 15 minutes for someone to even come to our table for our order. I think it may have been an anomaly as I later found out their ordering system had crashed. Once someone finally came to our table, food came out in a timely manner but we were only checked on once during the meal. I understand staffing, and getting up and running again, so I chalk it up to part of the learning curve of being super busy again. We sat on the outdoor patio early evening and it was a little breezy and cold, so eating our food before it got cold took preference over a photo shoot of this above average burger creation...but a few others have captured it on yelp photos. read more
